- Starts out by clarifying that Easthaven County is turning a pretty small profit and is thus not well prepared for Economy 2.0

" I have missed this city " , me too ! ;)
As an American, I love your subtle digs at our big cars and lack of public transit. Always makes me chuckle.
yeah but he isn't accurate about people not using bicycles in the USA, its a common mode of transportation for kids and people that had their licenses revoked for too many DUIs haha
And we have these LONG METAL THINGS CALLED BUSES & YELLOW SMALL THINGS CALLED TAXI'S.
@@dftpwell its just dogshit so if you have the money, personal transportation outclasses it by all metrics
37:28 the zoning right there is actually 90° as shown. The problem is the length is not a multiple of 8m (one tile) so the game adjusts the zoning from end to end which always leaves a small gap in the middle between the nearest 2 nodes possible. The Idea was quite good, but they should definitely turn down the sensitivity of the zoning adjusting to something like that - or even better, give us control over it.. 👀
For 40:23 you could just go from the zoning grid towards the street and avoid the breakage there, as aligning to the zoning grid first, and then (preferably through) the street gives that grid the higher priority 👍
About the issues you keep having with creating perfect zones: Please, for the love of various higher powers, use the snapping tools! They are way more sensitive than in CS 1 and require some attention, if you care about your grids.
1. Deactivate snapping to grids when drawing in roads between existing infrastructure with different alignments. It's not the angle that's fucking that up, it's snapping to a different grid. Also sometimes turning off snapping to existing geometry can be helpful too
2. Alternatively you could just draw in your roads past the point of connection, as well as any grids and bulldoze the excess. Doing this will give you the grids you're looking for.
3. only use road guidelines when you need them (curves, parrallel roads) From watching your videos, they are probably the most common source of messed up grids in your cities
I mean no offense, I just keep seeing people struggle with the new macanics and blame the game, when there is literally such an easy way to work with it. It's generally useful to be midful of what you've got activated when drawing in linear infrastructure, because sometimes (most of the time) less is more.
Noted, thanks for the feedback! I wish it was off by default, or somehow more intuitive because it seems to be such a widespread annoyance :D
You're definitely not the only one who has missed the city!!! ❤
11:45 I think you should make similiar stuff like that but more realistics as were wildlife can pass through
I didn't realise how much I missed this build until I started watching this video. Amazing stuff. This area due to its small scale is so visually pleasing and the level of detail is simply stunning.
That new little lake would certainly be a fishing spot for the maintenance crew for that area. You should put a couple park tables and maybe a small shaded area where they'd possibly clean their catch. As well as a walking path from the industrial building.
Love the Easthaven County series! Massachusetts has a lot of old cemeteries dating back several hundred years (there's at least one famous graveyard in Boston from 1630!). I wonder if that stone monument asset could be broken up and duplicated to replicate one of these old graveyards... And, speaking of stone, you'll find loads of small (barely a meter high in many cases), dilapidated stone walls stretching around historic property lines (presumably old farms) throughout many of the rural parts of the state. You'll often see them along modern roads, tucked away slightly in the woods, where nature has since reclaimed old plots... 🙂
I think your problem with the zoning isn't the angle, it's the road length. When you drag a road into another one's zoning with grid snapping enabled it'll eff up the length. Start the road with snapping enabled and finish it with snapping disabled. Sometimes it also helps to drag roads through the connection so snapping is ignored ;)
Good job, I am also addicted to the perfection with my city
I watched this video because I needed some inspiration for farms in cities skylines 2 and found out that you did not create any farms.😂 very good video anyways, port and hill row howhouses look nice!
I think you should add a big downtown with big infrastructure at some point. Not Boston big but maybe New Haven / Providence big.
Good to see you back. With those row houses on the Hill, I would have left a 1 grida space gap between them to allow the slope, they would have all been flat lots then. Also for the piersm why cant we have functional rail? Why not place some invisible freght stations and make a small freight path between some...
being from New England, specifically coastal southern Maine, I've missed this series dearly. Glad to see it's back. Hope it can continue in some form! It has really given me inspiration when creating my own cities with a New England look!
I wish I had a better feel for some of the guidelines you seem to build by. I pick up as much as I can, but sometimes I still zoom out of my cities and take a look at them and feel like they just don't have the realism yours do. At least you always keep me inspired :)
I think with all the rail connections and the closeness to open ocean i think there would be a substantial port on one of the islands that would bring in enough people to create a bigger city then what you currently have…. As always though love the content!
You could call a town Vaniville-Vayloria. So excited for more east haven!
An information for the new patch for you: It seems the Info Loom Mod messes with the Map Texture Replacer (actually it is the dependency Extra Lib). So deactivate the Info Loom temporarly when you do not want vanilla textures :)
Actually apartment blocks next to highways aren't as undesirable as you think, surprisingly enough. As it provides quick access to the highway and shortens commutes.
Also, "Re-creation-al areas" lol
I didn't know you're from Denmark. I visited Copenhagen last fall - beautiful city, biking around everywhere was SUCH a joy - coming from an American hahah
i remember watching you before you went on hiatus as teenager, and now I'm back watching you as a married man and i'm enjoying the videos even more! purely because you're just a funny guy to listen to.
easthaven county logo is very similar to that of gmina sława, a town and county in poland
I love the snarky shots/comments at all the things - Please don't ever change it is fantastic!
I had to laugh our loud a bit when you said you built a tennis club so they could discuss market manipulation! 😂😂😂
#apestogetherstrong
Love your content!
@Infrastructurist, I love your style! Looking forward to the upcoming Econopocalypse! I watched Biffa and FewC, and so anticipating your budget getting nuked by tile upkeep...but otherwise, if you manage to modify that to something reasonable...it'll be fun to watch the new economy work!
First time seeing your viedeo. It's so relaxing seeing you build in great detail and listening to your voice 😂. Nice viedeo
@Infrasctructurist, your accent is fine! If you're trying to copy the american pronunciation: Pier is pronounced "peer", Recreational is pronounced "wreck-rE-A-shunul", but I'm sure the queen's english would prefer your pronunciation. (REE-creation-al) We all know what you're sayin! Awesome city.
Totally agree with one of the other comments about creating a downtown area maybe not the scale of Boston but large enough! Maybe include a tourism/nightlife area and or a stadium since Massachusetts is the sports Championship capital of the US🏆
What might deal with the zoning issue is turn of the snapping to grid. I doesn't solve everything but does help a bit
I honestly love easthaven I think it's such a cool map and city
First !
Hope you haven't forget to name some stuff with the Lore we procured you. (I think about the Golf course for exemple)
i think row houses going vertically against the hill would look better
When the region is a little bit bigger you could have a very small regional airport served with only turboprop engine / military base. You could also put a plane firefighting at this airport
3:32 I don't work in the energy sector, but from my talks with those who have; yes, a lot of this is just political, but not often in the way you're thinking. This whole subject has become horribly politicised, as your own comments show tbf. Most "green energy" is nowhere near as green as most of us like to think. The best, according to some I've spoken to, is tidal. It's hard to generalise with pretty much anything that's, well, real and complicated, but a lot of "green alternatives" push the pollution burden elsewhere, which many either ignore or don't know about. Tbh I thought I knew more than most about energy sources, but after talking to some who are in the know; it's slightly broken my sense of how bad (or not) "traditional and dirty" methods of power generation are. To speak to the "clean coal" thing; coal can be a lot "cleaner" nowadays from a combination of how pure they can make the burning product, and methods of denying "the bad stuff" from leaving the stacks.
I still think some green methods are good, but as always seems to be the case with energy generation; I end up thinking "yeah, we need more nuclear" lol
51:46 was gold hahahha
These islands need a vineyard. It could have been built by the kids of some rich family and is generally regarded as a bad idea but everyone pretends the wine is decent because offending the Goldsacks is unthinkable.
Places car park; residents - "YAAAY!"
Places trees; residents - "meh."
You should add small boats to the small harbour
I wonder if there are more harbor assets coming...like tugboats and buoys (boo-wees).
Ahhhh now i want a whole bunch of cycling infrastructure... and historic old town stuff with pedestrian zones and maybe big churches and castles.
Wind Turbines don't need roads btw. just power lines, and yours only are connected to the high voltage line, not sure if that means they only export power now.
maybe removing surfaces and other gubbins from the homes on "The Hill" with better bulldozer may make it look better?
My tram lines broke after the update. If I try to change an existing line, it says "pathfinding failed". I tracked the bug down to the trams not being able to pathfind through intersections. Does anyone else have this bug? I would like to know if it is a mod related bug.
You do not need a road for the wind turbines though, there is also no need to align them because they move towards wherever the wind is in the game
Bro come back to Riverwiev we want see that city growing with big industry and everithing around until spaceships
Your comedy was on fire this time lmao
How interesting!
I’m glad your back into it but it’s sad it will ruin it unfortunately.
you have a weird bridge @31:06 on the top left corner of the screen between Forest Lane and Crest Hgwy 😇
(no i don't have OCD about road imperfection in Cities Skylines 2)
Now : lets have Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds be ever in your favor
How can you use custom assets when the main dependency is broken after the patch?
Finally! 😁🙌🏼
How come some mods work for you, in Skype from me it says I got some compatibility issues with some mods like (this mode was broken after the latest patch) how do I fix it?
Im I the only one who can't access mods since the update? Everythings fine on the menu/paradox mods but when I start a new map, theres nothing
What map are you playing?
This episode brought to you by coal partners of America 🇺🇸
arent you worried that those custom assets will be destroyed with the new patch?
My game doesnt even work after the update. Hell yea 🙃
This is supposed to a US build right? Won't the driveways being angled that way make it harder for people to get in and out them? There's a reason they usually align them to the street, it let's you enter from either direction. Everyone will either have to cross traffic or reverse into their driveway, otherwise it's a switchback turn as we drive on the right side of the road not the left.
🤔 More struggling with the new Economy 2.0 patch in saved cities. I'm starting over with a new city...
We need a tutorial on cs2 from scratch pls
I forgot about this city👁️👄👁️
It kills me that biking still isn't in the game.
Why dont you install the zoning toolkit, would make the finnicky zoning problems go away.
please for the love of god tell me the name of the texture pack cause I’ve been looking for it everywhere and I couldn’t find it
Hello, I've already asked him too, unfortunately he didn't answer me either, have you found anything in the meantime?

U can’t grab ur bike cuh this is cs2 !!
Whats economy 2.0
..... I like WestHaven county better than EastHaven county. The grass is a bit greener over on this side. 😁🤡
RV Park! Americans need to be able to drive their massive glampers attached to gas guzzlers to a picturesque spot in nature :D
That this game still looks so bad after so long shows how useless CO was and how much they still have to fix before giving it a better look.😮
почему у тебя здания не забрасываются?
Soo... I hope you guys are ready for some SERIOUS economy fixing, because I just booted up Easthaven County a few hours ago and our economy is in shambles 💸Besides that, let me know what you'd like to see in Easthaven County next, in the comments below! (Btw can they please be cheap suggestions? 🤣)
OH AND, I've created some merch, so if you've ever been restless at night longing for a RIVERVIEW sweatshirt.. You're odd, but I like odd, and now you can get just that: infrastructurist-shop.fourthwall.com/en-usd
Much love!
Infrastructurist
Might we see gambling machines to boost the economy?
Bidenomics smdh
I hope the economy 2.0 won’t destabilize the city 😢
Given how low density Easthaven is, you might want to use the vanilla mod "unlock all tiles" which removes the tile upkeep, or there's a mod which lets you adjust the tile upkeep on a % basis (not sure of the mod name but city planner plays covered it in his Eco 2.0 vid). Should allow you to find a ballance with the new economy changes while keeping the style of the county.
Happy to see more of this city! It's one of my favourite to chill out and watch.
Maybe for this particular map you might just unlock the map tiles. It will get rid of the upkeep cost. It's not ideal, but you will still have an economy. I had to do it on the city I'm building right now. The tile upkeep cost were going to sink it. Once I unlocked the map tiles my huge budget deficit was gone and replaced with a very modest surplus. It was much, much less than before the patch, but also seems much more reasonable, especially for my city at it's current size.
Easthaven is a great change of pace from Riverview. I'm enjoying both of them.
