Superb, MADHU and Surmukhi. Madhu Balakrishnan must be very happy to sing KJY songs and he must be, for he nails it EVERY single time he does. 0:58 says it all! He ought to be a singer in the good books of IR. This composition is like drinking gallons of honey - but still not cloying. A popular favourite number - even among people born in the 50's & 60's.

Thendrale Ennai Thodu (Greatest hit in 1980's), I hope recorded in Prasad Deluxe Theatre, 16 track (not sure) which was fully upgraded for Isai gyani Ilayaraja.
I still can recall, listening this movie song in Sony Walkman, wow it was, even though not digital music.

In Hindustani music Bilawal rag has 7 notes , both Arohan and avarohan, where Ma is flat.
While a rag like Bupali has 5 shudha notes both arohan and avarohan. For beginners, bupali is preferred.
