- Hoi An, Vietnam is renowned for its tailor shops and custom-made clothing. This is my second visit to get clothes made. You have the opportunity to get tailored garments with a wide range of fabrics and styles to choose from. It’s a popular destination for those looking for unique, personalized clothing items.
Li Me Linen Shop was a wonderful experience with no upsell pressure and you won't believe the price! I knew exactly what I wanted and they worked with me through the process. I love that they listen because it can be overwhelming when your wishes are not respected, you feel hassled, or have to negotiate every step of the way. It was a seamless, professional, and AFFORDABLE experience.
In this video I'll show you how the clothes making process starts from the streets to the tailoring shop. If you haven't done your research, it's not apparent if the price is fair. Go to a recommended shop. There's a tailoring shop every other step so you have a plethora of options and it's an affordable way to build your wardrobe while traveling.

I envy you ... tailor-made is the best! I have been trying to convince a Vietnam tailor in NOLA to sew for me. He does excellent alterations when l need them.

I had my share of a good quality tailor made 2 piece suit while I was in India. In Chennai, I got a luxury suit for around USD100 while in Mumbai, I got a Rajasthani style suit for less than USD100. Wonderful. They are figure hugging. Well, those are purchased in 2010 and 2011, I'm sure the price has changed.
An entire suit for under $100 is great! I'm so happy for the option because I can't find pants to fit or to my liking while traveling. They have a tailor every other store LOL!

Hello! I can’t really find the answer to this anywhere hopefully someone can jump in! I’m going to Japan and I want to pick up a few vintage kimonos with the intention of on my trip to Vietnam having them turned into custom pieces. Would the shops be open to me bringing in my own fabrics to be used in addition to theirs? Has anyone ever done this before?
I haven't had this done but there are so many shops in Hoi An, I'm sure with research someone probably offer this service as well. Hopefully, someone with experience will respond. Thanks for asking and hope it works out!
My uncles got custom made suits there in the 1960’s

I'm not sure because I didn't see any on the rack nor did I ask. She specializes in linen. There are plenty of shops that do because I've seen them advertised in the window. Every other store is a tailor 😆 no exaggeration.
