Kilcoole - Least Used Station in Co. Wicklow

It was the day the timetables changed, and for the first time in many years, Kilcoole finally got a service upgrade! It made for the perfect opportunity for me and my friends to visit the station and make a video there. Kilcoole is home to around 5,000 people, however the station is almost 20 minutes away from the village! The station is situated right next to the stunning Kilcoole beach, a popular spot for dog walkers. It is also home to a trackside walk, stretching all the way from Wicklow nearly to Greystones! 🚉🎫

It most certainly is! Definitely worth a visit once the Leap validator pole is installed.

There looks like there's work going on with the station which means that there'll be more trains stopping at the station in the future and the dart is meant to be coming on that train line as well

The December 2022 timetable changes brought so many new services, hopefully the new infrastructure will influence new passengers to use the station. However, the line has to be doubled before any DART services can be introduced.

Thank you! There were certainly many passengers using the station, really good to see usage for the first Sunday in years. There were many cars in the car park but I suspect most were for the beach, not the station. The train service south was quiet but north was much busier.
