Huge fan Dino
Dino, you’ve got one of the greatest rock voices I’ve heard. Simply fantastic! 👍
Dino, I watch this almost every morning and cry. It's my daily release. My husband died in July completely out of the blue. Just dropped dead. Then we had to put our baby pup down a month later. I haven't allowed myself to feel for five months but this song is my daily release. It means more than I can possibly convey. Thank you for this.
@@materialgirl007 Sorry for your loss.
Dino Maestro...
Thanks for having me be a part of this, Dino! Hope everyone else here enjoys it!
That was awesome Joel, you rock dude.
Everything I have seen/heard you in has been great. That Jackson is the perfect ax for this song, but hey, did you choose that color to match your eyes, or what?
Haha! Nope. It does agree with direct recording though. Nice guitar...
@@joelhoekstra13 It is a great guitar! I'm sure you had fun recording that song. I love "Jane," too. You played a Les Paul on that one.
Having heard your work on Whitesnake's Purple Album, I knew you were gonna nail this before I even heard it.
As a black, Nigerian born, Canadian man, I frequently get strange looks and double takes when Boston is blasting out my truck speakers at full volume while on the road. I feel no shame or embarrassment, but pride that I am free and secure enough in myself to enjoy great music as an end in itself. My musical pallet is a very wide one, but Boston holds a special place because they’re just so timeless. Way to keep the classics alive gentlemen. Well done!
Well spoken sir, and I don't believe the rock and roll / metal community ever cares where any one is from. What we all share as a community is our love for sometimes advers music. We all love it for the same reason which is why we can all be family.
You ARE the man!:-)
Music has no colour except for the Blues. Never feel anything but satisfaction from the knowledge that you have great taste in music.
Try playing the drums and singing the high harmonies in a cover band that performed this song, while being BLACK. Talk about your "strange looks and double takes"
@@charlesmarion2032 😂I can imagine it. I assume they are looks of approval and admiration for how well you slay it.
Just when I was starting to get really sick of hearing cover songs this comes along and kicks me straight in the teeth.
Unreal 🤯
I just keep coming back to this video, it's six guys who are all at the top of the pile in their chosen disciplines. Never fails to blow me away. And that voice...??!!
Hey kids, LOOK ITS REAL MUSICIANS. PLAYING INSTRUMENTS AND FORMING ACTUAL MUSIC 🎵🎧🎶🎼❤️💜
I couldn't have said it any better 😊 I think this might be my favorite comment ever!!!
LOL, good answer.
Typical modern kid:
"I like rap and video games."
I was thinking the very same thing. World-class musicians doing what they do best!
Amen !!!!!!
I would pay to see this project live... who's with me?????
for sure, i vould like to see 2
Looks like not many people are with you

Is there anything better than listening to and watching superb musicians cover a great song? Beyond awesome, just incredible
The Greatest performance in Rock CZcams ever. Prove me wrong
awesome, as 61 year old former musician who played thousands of gigs, brought tears to my eyes, enjoy boy's!!!!
Just a ridiculous amount of talent to have on one collaboration.
Back in the day, all bands had that ridiculous amount of talent. That's why they were so good.
@@DonByronDukeoftheArctic Some more than others.
@@Anotherroom I agree. Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, the Eagles, Journey, Van Halen, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Queen, Boston, the Police, Fleetwood Mac, and Toto. Just to name a few. And I will add Def Leppard and Night Ranger. And of course April Wine.
That was Boston. A ridiculous amount of talent.
@@DonByronDukeoftheArctic they were so good ..they were gods😉
Joel is unbelievable! He makes it look so damn effortless and easy
What a tribute to Tom Scholtz. An Allstar band paying tribute to a unbelievable debut album and song
Criminal, that no one is mentioning the brilliance of mister Henrik Linder.
It's great to hear him Dirty Loops NOT in Dirty Loops. He is a badass, but one can only listen to Jonah for so long and it gets old
So restrained! :)
No doubt, Henrik gifted this performance with a SUPER deep rock steady pocket, and perfectly placed flashes of pure virtuoso brilliance...the man's a true master of his craft!
Sticking to the guns in an awesome song is true bass mastery. All of them withstood the temptation to shred it to pieces. We all know what each of the collaborators is technically capable of...
Isn't that what we all are here for? 😁😁😁
Some things are a certain as the Sun rising, and the collective appreciation for this amazing “rhythm” section has to be 100% positive
Absolutely brilliant rendition of Long Time. Every single time that Dino, Portnoy & Hoekstra get together, you know it is just going to rock. Keep up the good work. Love to all.
exactly. I see them in the list, I click like, I watch, I listen. and I'll come back for more
Yrrrrr here we go again. . . . . listening to the best ROCK. 70years old and still enjoy the best of Rock.
Don't care how many years go by, this never gets old!!!!! So Great!!
Can we get some love from Henrik on bass? The man is a beast and clearly as adept at skipping between genres as he is skipping strings!
Wow. This is an OUTSTANDING cover. I had just graduated HS in '76 when this album was released. Starting dating the girl I've been married to 45 years that summer. This music is part of our story. These gentlemen did it RIGHT. 👏 👏 👏 🤘 🎸
Congrats to you also for still being together
Love love love seeing my boy Justin Johnson in on this! What a jam!!!💜🎼
Yes mam, thats "Blues Master" Justin Johnson
@@collegeparkwhiteboy Oh I know who he is we've been friends for a very long time. I used to send Justin my gourmet Heavenly Fire Salsa, seems he has a predilection for the spicy stuff!
Boston's debut album was my first vinyl. This is the best cover of any Boston song I've ever heard. Great balance between the original and adding your own flourishes. I really appreciate that the vocalist didn't try to imitate the incomparable Brad Delp.
Yes Brad Delp will never be matched. Best rock vocalist ever.
Their debut album was my first vinyl album too back in like '78 or so, still my favorite album. I stumbled across another cover that was pretty damn good too. Check it out.
czcams.com/video/2vPPHskCf3w/video.html
Mine too 👌
Love his voice❤❤❤😊
The drummer KILLED IT!!!! EXCELLENT!!!
Mike portnoy is my favorite drummers of all time. He is one of the founding members of the Dream Theatre. Check them out. Crazy talented band. But mike did leave the band. But there's a ton of stuff that he did with dream theatre. His replacement mangini is no slouch.
“The drummer” is Mike Portnoy. Regarded as one of the greatest drummers of all time. Dive into some of his work. He’s amazing!
Tom Shultz has to be saying Bravo! What an amazing legacy to have musicians like this keeping your music alive and fresh.
Scholz
wouldnt be surprised if he forces a takedown lol dudes a prick
Damn guys! Nice job. I love this cover. This is coming from a guy who at age 12 in 1976 saved his quarters to buy Boston's first album! ✌️
Ditto!!!
WOW...that brought tears to my eyes.
Henrik on bass and Mike on the drum. Clearly a killer combo
Thank u for all the lovely comments
SUBSCRIBE for more! 🤘
great vocals. loved the highs .. you nailed it!!
Dino excellent cover with all of you guys adding your own to it. On of my two favorites since 1976 when it came out my older sister played then gave me the Album! Played it to death I was 12 almost 13 at the time. Still love Boston! I am 58 years old still enjoy you guy doing this thank you! ✌
Portnoy killed it! Sib is looking down loving this ✌️
Oh, I am absolutely subscribed! I haven't been this impressed with a rock voice since Sammy Hagar, and that is saying something. I grew up with Boston, and this is by far the best cover I've heard. I rarely even follow musicians anymore, because, well, listen to what we get now. I hope to hear music from you for a very... Long Time!
Congrats on your Whitesnake acceptance!
I'll see you on tour!
Dinos vocals are killer. As good as it gets.
Brad Delp has entered the chat.
@@joeshumo9457all due respect, but Dino has killer voice
@@n70-upliftingtransition93yeah Dino is Miles better.
How does this not have 1 million views yet? What phenomenal musical talent across the board! WOW!!!
I second that !!
It should be 15 millions!
yea .somethings wrong with stat numbers . i, alone ,have watched it a million times!
It does now
Maybe the vocals? That’s definitely why I stopped.
Because the original is absolutely brilliant and mind blowing when you take it all into consideration.
It’s like trying to fly like an eagle by flapping your arms.
It’s almost pointless to cover.
HENRIK IS AN ACTUAL/REAL BASS MONSTER!!!
If you are reading this you have kick ass taste in music! Peace from Detroit MI.
Unbelievable! One of the greatest songs of all time! Dino…you did Brad Delp proud bro. You were all amazing! Thank you!
Mike Portnoy is like King Midas... he touches it, it turns to gold.
Joel Hoekstra's smile while playing just gives another good vibe to this 😁
That just got my Sunday morning in high gear great job no more need be said!!!!!
Joel is a amazing guitarist and he looks like he loves what does. Thanks for all the great music!!!!
Yeah a goofy vibe as usuall. It’s more”important”to look in to the camera then looking at the guitar neck or somewhere else. But a nice guy and a decent guitar player but to much posing if you have seen him live.
Ok, I don't usually like Boston covers (I graduated from High School in 1977 and Boston has always been my favorite band!!!!) but WELL DONE!!!!! You NAILED IT!!!!!❤❤❤❤
Lacky Doley is a machine on that Hammond. Brilliant organist 👏👏👏👏
Great performance guys cause this classic song lives on thru ages of time and will never be forgotten as people like you continue the legacy of this song and salute to the original Boston who started it all. Tom Schulz, Bradley Edward Delp, Barry Goudreau, Fran Sheehan and Sib Hashian. Rest In Peace my angel Brad.
Holy crap! You upped the ante this time by getting Henrik Linder to play bass!!! What an incredibly gifted bass player and brilliant addition to this lineup. I know there's no hope of seeing this stuff live because you all are just now getting ready to get back out on the road with your respective bands but I had to say what a great show you've been giving us on your year off. Thanks for putting in the effort! It's most appreciated!!!
Everyone here is a maestro in their own right, but that voice, he's like a modern day Coverdale. Grit AND control.
I couldn't agree more. Coverdale was the first person that came to mind. From my first listen to Dino I was an instant fan.
Yes man, you are correct. Definitely Coverdale-esque
You should here him cover Badlands (Ray Gillan), it's uncanny!
Coverdale with a heavy dose of old school Ronnie James Dio. Classic power vocals!
And now he's with Whitesnake...TQ very much
I have just discovered this gem/jam! Awesome. Love that B3-sound. And the guitar. And the drums. And the bass. And the vox.....Beautiful❤!
Boston put out the most uplifting positive message of songs out there with very good music that they have developed so far, songs like: Cool the Engines, Don't Look Back, Feeling Satisfied. Songs that face real life like: Coporate America, Turn it Off, Sail Away. Clean fun Songs like: Party and much more, they have different categories of songs like: Love Songs, energetic action songs, and songs that can relate to what going on in the world today and much more. Boston is a band worth listening to.
And they said rock was dead.... Nope! Awesome guys..
This is just auwsome in the real sence.
The original lead singer is dead...
I just came here to say: Happy birthday Dino!
For me this beautiful rendition being released on my deceased sons 30th birthday (born 6-4-91) has given the lyrics even deeper meaning to me.
It's a big deal, appreciated beyond words.
Deep imy mind I can't forget about you.
And great job on this production.
Man! That vocalist is a MONSTER. They all are.
I grew up listening to boston. If I could not see these guys I would have sworn it was boston. The greatest compliment You can give to the original band is to do there music like they do it. This group did that. Fantastic!!!
Dino has become 1 of the best singers of all time.
Doesn't hold a candle to Brad Delp's version.
@@betornween I thought he did good though
@@foamrob6577 I can imagine that Brad would be smiling down to Dino.
Decent but not even close
agree and Paul Rodgers !
Joel makes everything look effortless.
Love how they each share the song. That song go on forever with those individual solos
Best cover of one of the greatest rock anthems of all time. Seriously....awesome work guys.
I just listened to this...so did my neighbors....on the next block!!! OUTSTANDING!!!! Congrats Dino can't wait to hear you in Whitesnake!!!!!
Wait! Whitesnake!?!? Damn that'll be sick. Although I would love to see him front his own group. Signed a 67 year old groupie 🤠👍😜
Beautiful. All stellar musicians. Always been a fan of Joel. But Dino, what a voice, powerful, emotional, versatile, soulful.
Gotta love that Hammond organ! Great job guys!
Killer!
Didn't know Dino, ele chuta bundas!
The only problem with quarantine jam? No epic Joel Hoekstra poses. Dino singing Brad Delp is why the internet exists.
Joel is staring into my soul. F*ING creepy.
In '92 When Dino was born there was no content on the internet, this is clearly no coincidence.
Not Delp , thats Mickey Thomas
Holy crap, Dino Jelusick has one of the best rock voices i've heard in a LONG time.
Nice pun. But also true.
Great voice, just not for this song...
@@1badsteedPerfect for this song - his voice works for this song perfectly, in the same way the instrumental elements vary from the original work.
@@deantalbotdrums Song went south as soon as singer opened his mouth. Too much Jack D for this track! IMHO!
My only issue with the vocals, preference aside, is that the singers backing vocals on the harmonies were not sung differently enough so instead of a harmony sound I’m getting a delayed doubling sound. Not sure if they just manipulated the primary vocal or if it’s a different take but either way the mix is not great. Also it’s tough to take on a Brad Delp vocal so kudos to the singer for the effort even if his voice isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.
Dino and all the guys in this video.........this is the ABSOLUTE BEST cover of this song ever done. You guys are incredibly talented and need to put this show on the road!!!!!!!!
Finding a good singer for rock or metal is extremely hard these days. Dino is a rarity. It's hard to find young people who have a good voice for rock like him in the modern times. Reminds me of David Coverdale. Great work everyone.
Reminds me Jorn Lande too. Anyway, same influences...
As I approach 60, I have been so discouraged with younger bands (not all, but most) with growlers as lead singers and musicians with little originality. After being weened on Halford, Dio, Dickinson, Tate, Bonnet, and the like (the bands were great as well) since my mid teens, I seriously thought that my style of music would die with me. It is such a relief that this old metalhead can rest easy with the voice that you have and the various young musicians that you have put together on a number of recent videos are here to carry the torch. Thank you all!
I highly recommend Nando Fernandes doing Whitesnakes Looking for Love! Definitely crank it up!!!
@@Shaun.Sparico That's too bad that you don't see the talent that "growlers" have. I highly recommend attempting those style of vocals to appreciate what it is they do. You don't have to necessarily enjoy it yourself, but I promise you they work equally hard, if not harder, on their craft as any clean vocalist ever did. I also think that the claim of unoriginality is a farce. More things to compare it to may make it seem watered down but people are still taking music to exciting new directions. The problem is, no matter what, most people just want things to stay the same. New and different is very seldom taken in by the masses.
Coverdale was my thought too. One of my favs.
LInder's so beyond chill the whole time. No words needed
from my hometown in new hampshire. i grew up on them, the cars, j geils.. all from new hampshire..now i'm in tennessee where all the country music shit is..i miss the old days
It was this song and Deep Purple's "Burn", that was the seed that was planted that grew up to be some of the very Best Neo-classical guitarist's....ever!
🎸👈😀👍
Well done guys ! I was 17 when I've heard this marvelous masterpiece of Boston for the first time. You all did a brilliant cover !!
'zactly. =)
Incredible tribute to one of the best songs ever from one of the most influential bands of all time. You guys rock!
A brilliant performance of one of the greatest compositions in rock and roll history.
Just stumbled on this video and WOW! Big Boston fan but I love all types of rock music. This cover will be hard to beat. Dino, love that voice dude! Now I have to dig in and find more music from each of these guys. I have a party barn with big sound and big tv, this track on the playlist rotation for sure. Blown Away! Great job!
I know I'm late to the game, but Dino's voice is utterly amazing
When chemistry and talent collide! Thunder followed by lightning provide the back drop of enjoyment meant to be experienced by the human ear. A gift for the ages. Thanks guys, you inspire a new brood of musicians, now that’s a legacy you can hang your hat on.
Tom Scholz will never get the wide-spread credit he deserves with his innovations and musicality.
Brad Delp & Tom Scholz would be so proud of what y'all did in this song !!! Absolutely Amazing !!!
Having played for a decade I tuned in for Joel...completely amazed by you, Dino, and Portnoy...such a fantastic collaboration by everyone involved. Thank you!
Man there's some serious vocal growl there. Love it.
Boston’s first album has to be on of the best rock albums in history. A song from that album was on the radio literally every 5 minutes in 76 and 77.
The slide playing is such a great addition here. As a huge fan of the original, I loved it. Well done by all!
Well, I was eager to watch this because of Justin Johnson who is an amazing guitarist! Anything he is in makes for an epic collab!! 😎 👏👏👏 🎸 🤘 ❤
