    Hola, te escribo desde Argentina, Provincia de Buenos Aires, vivo en un pequeño pueblo rural , no hago bonsai , pero vivo experimentando, con distintos suelos , tamaños y variedades de especies. Empecé con piceas , Acer , y juniperos . Con las piceas , no tuve ningún resultado satisfactorio con los esquejes . Produjo en mi una sensación de frustración muy grande. Los Acer sólo logré reproducir por acodo aéreo. Y los juniperos siguen esperando a sus raíces. Te agradezco inmensamente tu video . Seguiremos intentando acoplados a las leyes de la mágica naturaleza !!!

    I'm new to bonsai...I took cuttings from a dwarf juniper in our garden.
    Cut october 31st. I plan on running them indoors for the winter on a heating mat, under a grow light (not a strong one). Winters are cold in Ontario and I'm pretty sure they'll die outdoors if they aren't rooted.
    Have you ever tried indoor rooting?

    • @WorldofBonsai
      @WorldofBonsai  Před rokem

      It will die Indoor on a heating map. Check my videos for indoor care in Glas tanks to have enough humidity. But junipers stand the cold winter very good. My junipers from cuttings stay in the garden all winter.

      That was meant to say potting medium*.
      You had mentioned about using a lot of non organic stuff. I'm just a bit curious as to what works best for both deciduous and coniferous cuttings.
      I've experimented with a few different things and sizing grades of materials.

      @@StephenTurnerVlogs Hello, I just wanted to jump in, as I was new to this once, and it was nice to get different peoples advise. With that said, I grow mostly evergreen/conifers, specifically junipers and getting some cedars, haha, who doesnt. But I got a bunch a couple years back some regular varieties, but also Itgioawa. I put some in ground, and some in containers, so if you ware growing your own, do that first, then exp. and learn as you go. it will be years before they are workable. but I prefer open soil, I water alot, so not much if any biomaterial. sand, mixed size, clay pellets, but if big, I make smaller, im in the states, and tough to get akiadama, but Im not a fan of it for longterm growing. pumice is great. dont try and get too technical with it. its an art, art can not be broken down into a recipe. I see so many that want to know the percentages or how many ounces of this or that...learn by using and experimenting, it makes it so much more pleasant and YOURS! Be well, grow on!!!

      Yeah you're right about just going with it. I'm having some success with cypress cuttings I took last year. I bought two itoigawa (I think) cuttings from a UK seller. So they're grand. Now I'm trying yew and rosemary. Shouldn't be too difficult. I've taken lots of willow cuttings as well. They should be easiest of all, as long as they survive winter in the glass house.

      @@davypaul9827 Do you think regular potting soil is alright or maybe try propagating by water?
      I'm brand new to bonsai and want to try to bonsai from some Juniper trees that are growing around where I work. I live in Georgia, it's getting pretty cold right now but for most of the year it's hot as hell. I am planning on taking as many cuttings as I can at once and trying different methods. Any advice on minimum/maximum size of cuttings?
      Otherwise I'm currently growing potatoes, kalanchoe, lavender, snap dragons and dragon fruit.

    Sehr interessant, vor allem der Teil über Mykorrhizae. Werde bei meinen Stecklinge die ich über den Winter drinnen habe die Erde tauschen und weniger organische Anteile verwenden. Mir sind auch schon viele kaputt gegangen wegen zu viel Wasser oder Sonne... vor allem Wacholder.
