A short Minder sketch with Dennis Waterman and George Cole. Cole was performing in The Pirates of Penzance, with Waterman in Windy City, hence both had musical performances too!
I remember watching Minder in the early Eighties and thinking, this is pretty good. Now when I watch it I think it's 'fantastic', particularly Gearge Cole. What a character he created with Arthur.
Still brilliant today in 2024,compulsive viewing everyday on television ,all the characters as well ,Chisholm ,Taff ,ryecroft ,the Winchester and all the local villains tv with its actors ,scripts and settings pure gold !👍
I still love " Minder " when I watch it today. Those two had a real chemistry together. It entertained us, unlike the piss=poor woke unfunny attempts at comedy today, by performers without personality, who are afraid of their own pathetic shadows. RIP Arthur, Tel and Dave.
I loved Minder. Two great character actors. Dennis was also great in the Sweeney and New Tricks. RIP all the great actors that were in these programmes. Too many to mention here.
I loved mimder. Arthur daley and terry mccann were a great double act. George cole was also in a one off sweeney episode when he was being bullied by a younger man. The third regular actor in minder was dave the barman in the winchester club played brilliantly by glynn edwards. R.i.p. to all of them.
I absolutely love watching the re runs..it was part of my life to look forward to the next Minder.. It was a piece of my diet in life.. And I would do it again exactly the same.. I read George Coles book..The world is my Lobster.. It was excellent.. These 2 were like Rhubarb and Custard.. you couldn't really eat them separately.. A toast to you 2 gentlemen. I'm glad I grew up with you both.. Thank you
Both wre very good at their trade, George Cole's Arther Daley was not supposed to be the main character in Minder but his involvement and acting and Dennis Waterman's undoubted talent, just made Minder an extraordinary show to watch.
Wonderful happy days of great entertainment on TV The Royal Variety Performances had real ‘stars’ George and Dennis ‘fed off each other’ I would not miss an episode of MINDER Dennis now getting together with George and have a laugh 😭😭😃😃🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🏴🏴🏴🏴❤️❤️❤️❤️
I loved Minder, from day one "Gunfight at the OK launderette" I was hooked and is and always brings a wide smile knowing the next hour will take me back to those times...thanks for this upload 👍🙂
He cut his hair very short for that football movie he did in 1982, and it was be 1984 before the next series of Minder started, so probably kept that image for a while
He also went very thin up top quite young! I used to see him fairly regularly in the 90's and he wasn't like his Sweeney or Minder characters at all. Quite a quiet chap actually.
One of the very best shows of all time. 2 great characters who played brilliantly off of each other with a great supporting cast of characters. Particularly worth a mention is the great Patrick Malahide as the constantly exasperated ’Cheerful Charlie’ Chisholm. The non-pc scripts were sharp and brilliantly written. Today’s TV pales badly against this show, mainly because of the woke messages that bombard the box, instead of entertaining the viewers.
Ah, the good old days when ordinary British people bowed the knee to the genetically-superior royals, no matter what they were up to behind palace doors.
2 greats, sadly are no longer with us, but Minder will live on forever, and we will never forget such talent as George Cole and Dennis Waterman
Only lives on it we introduce it to our kids and grandkids, and they do the same 💯
God bless ‘em both. From an era when box ticking didn’t exist.
Instead, it was about kow-towing to the aristocracy.
What do you mean by box ticking?
Yeah? 😂
Rest in peace george cole and dennis waterman
Arguably one of the best series to ever be broadcast on television, great stories and acting, not like the piffle we have to put up with now.
Yeah it was okay. Hasn’t aged too well though unlike OFAH
Two of 80s legends
I remember watching Minder in the early Eighties and thinking, this is pretty good. Now when I watch it I think it's 'fantastic', particularly Gearge Cole. What a character he created with Arthur.
Indeed. Not forgetting the quality of the writing that gave the actor the opportunity to create
such a memorable character.
@@songsmith31a Yes great writing. Every episode always had something.
Absolute top quality. My dad used to let me stay up on a school night to watch it with him. Great memories.
@@StephenH-ms9ogsame here..I was 10 years old...now I'm the same age as Arthur ..so I've started watching them again and I still love it..
@@bigtam462 I bought the box set years ago and always watch a few every week. Leon Griffiths was extremely talented as was the complete cast.

Fantastic minder one of the best programmes ever Terry and Arthur still watch the repeats ctid 😮

RIP Arthur, Tel and Dave.
It was exceptional acting... it could only succeed... and it did...
I loved Minder. Two great character actors. Dennis was also great in the Sweeney and New Tricks. RIP all the great actors that were in these programmes. Too many to mention here.
There dynamic was and still is to this day awesome 😊.
Good to see them in something new, well new to me.

Always a laugh to see Glynn Edwards turn up in 60s and 70s movies like Zulu, Ipcress File, or Get Carter..
what a quality 2 minutes this was - absolute class !!

Watch minder most mornings 6am ish
It was about the writing and the chemistry between the two of them.
When actors were actors
Ps Minder on the Orient and Minder down under fantastic fun.
Terry McCann morphing in Alf Garnett
Minder was compulsory viewing in the 80s !
love it
Two quality entertainers. Its true that they dont make em like this anymore.
Terry with short hair
He cut his hair very short for that football movie he did in 1982, and it was be 1984 before the next series of Minder started, so probably kept that image for a while

What a double act - class!
A character duo made in heaven. Was it really that long ago? Even Arthur Daley would have to admit you
can't put a value on time.
R.I.P. George and Dennis 🙏
George Cole played a young Ebenezer Scrooge in the 1951 A Christmas Carol.
Nice little earner 💵💵💵💵
Dennis Waterman was the British version of James Woods.
Watched the film Fright the other night. I was half way through when I realised it was Terry and Arthur. It's a good film.
the funny thing ws george didnt realise dennis was in it as he kept stepping over his body lol
@@alexlazebat839 They were never on screen together.

Modern day Minder...Arthur is trans and deaf Terry is black and gay
Ah, the good old days when ordinary British people bowed the knee to the genetically-superior royals, no matter what they were up to behind palace doors.
Hmmmmm not so funny really.
