      I like your passion. But I have eaten both. They are basically the same pepper. Synonymous and interchangeable. If you gave someone a scotch bonnet and told them it was a habanero, they would believe you.

    That’s the bs I hate, they want chefs to be arrogant but then they also want chefs to not be arrogant, AND they didn’t come here to get a psychological analysis from a doofus, stick to cooking not picking apart people you barely know.

      Show me the sweat. Or the blush. Or the loss of vocabulary.
      He handled the heat just fine. But he is aware of the average palette, that’s why he is a judge and not a competitor. If you want to see a judge that can’t handle heat, watch Gordon Ramsey doing Hot Ones. He is a wimp.

    • @geoffreyokrongly916
      @geoffreyokrongly916 Před měsícem

      Restaurants have fooled you. You get the thing with habanero in the name and you think you are actually handling the heat of a habanero. You are eating a slightly spicy dish that was kissed with habanero so they could put the word in the name. It is a marketing trick.
      Go to the produce section of your grocery story. Find the habaneros. Buy one. Just one. Any one, don’t get picky. And after you have legally purchased your pepper, eat it whole. You will never say something as foolish as “Habanero is a pretty standard flavor” ever again.

      I have eaten both habaneros, and scotch bonnets. They are so similar that if you don’t tell your victim the difference, they can’t tell you the difference. They look nearly identical, and their heat is so similar that it barely warrants discerning the difference between the two. They are interchangeable, synonyms, birds of a feather.
