  • I’ve been really bad at Super Mario Bros. Wonder in the past, but today’s episode may be the worst I’ve ever been at the game. I put poor Toadette through the wringer for no reason other than I’m bad at the game and I wasn’t all there mentally that day. I’m never mentally there, but this time it’s for emotional reasons as opposed to intellectual ones.
Snapchat decided to show me some pictures of my beloved Molly, a dear pup who we had to say goodbye to last June. I mostly get on just fine, but every now and then a video or picture will hit my heart in just the right spot and I’ll crumble. I miss that dog dearly, but as I said in the video, she’d want me to be happy cause she’s an excellent dog.
Anyway, I’m clearly still a little emotional but that’s neither here nor there. Despite the fact that I was not fully mentally present that day, for some reason, I decided to play for a super long time. This episode is quite long, but it was a lot of fun to film. I sang for a weirdly large amount of it, most of which I tried to cut out, but not all of it could be.
We finish up the last bits of the Sun-Baked Desert by doing some of the hardest levels I’ve had to deal with to date. And, of course, this leads us to the Special World, a world I cannot hope to ever complete due to the extreme difficulty of the levels involved. In fact, these Special World Levels are some of the main reasons I’m hesitating so much with committing to hundred percenting this game. I just don’t know if I’m capable or not.
Obviously, the Special World level was too hard for me this time so I went ahead to the next world. Of course, in order to get to this next world, I first had to complete a warship level first. I believe I said this in my summary for the first time I did one of these levels but I’m too lazy to go back and check, but these levels are some of my least favorite. I do not do well with time crunches and this is one of the worst.
Thankfully, the devs seemed to understand that I wouldn’t be able to handle much harder than a 2 star difficulty rating for that level and gave it to me, which allowed me to move on from this level to the island of the Petal Isles. This one was food themed, a theme I am particularly fond of, due to the fact that it looks so colorful and delicious.
Finally, we make it into the next world: the Fungi Mines. As the name implies, these are mines filled with fungi and it’s actually a pretty dank place, both literally and colloquially. It’s obvious from the decor that there are going to be some spooky levels up ahead. Case in point, one of the levels we do in this episode involves to Boos, who are quite spooky indeed.
All in all, it’s actually a surprisingly long episode with very little evidence that I’m actually getting better at the game. Oh well, there’s still time I guess.
So if you like fungus, a lot of singing, and/or failing at easy levels, then this episode of my Super Mario Bros. Wonder playthrough episode is for you!

    Special World tortures yet again...
15:02 all you have to do is make him forget to watch the Super Mario Bros. Super Show!
So...after King Boo "dies," his crown falls off and he becomes a normal boo. This either means he was a fake or the crown decides who the king is.

Special World is such a misleading name for "Hell World"
Ah yes, the Super Mario Bros. Super Show... just as terrif- I mean iconic as The Legend of Zelda Animated Series
I didn't notice that little detail about King Boo! I wonder if this has Luigi's Mansion implications

Not gaming content, but are we getting a tier list of the Simpsons songs?
