I built a plotter but when I send gcode to the machine it draws it at a 45 degree angle. Any ideas on the issue or troubleshooting would be appreciated.

Hello how to co figurę this machine to RUN on GRBL. What I mean is that GRBL interprets commands for x axis and y axis independently and if I look on your belt diagram it looks like both Motors have to run at the same time in order to move the carriage along y axis… How did you do that?
UGS Version 2.0.7 When i Click "X+" >>> $J=G21G91X50F10000 (Only one motor is running) so the Machine moving like this direction "↗" When i Click This arrow "↗" >>> $J=G21G91X50Y-50F10000 (This time 2 motor is running ) So machine moving like this direction "→ " So the problem is here i want to move x direction when i click X+ To move "→ " and "↗" this to corner direction I changed the Stepper motor pin many time no use. Please help me to solve this issue.

I think a lot of things work, there is even a different holder on thingiverse. With this you can hold the pen inclined.

Vc conseguiu usar o grbl v1.1 para o arduino uno ? Com os comandos m3 e m5 ? A minha caneta não se move com essa versão, só com o grbl 0.9j
Usei o Grbl servo e está funcionando perfeitamente

Not sure about the belt length. What do you mean with plotting, drawing with a pen? Yes, you can.
Thingiverse manual says 2000mm belt length.
