Robin suffered from lack of sunlight apparently and Coby did a Neville Longbottom.
She was always light skinned (in the manga) but the anime screw up when she first was shown, time skip corrected this.
And even tho Robin looks a bit-better with the tan (also the cowboy hats, I miss those) I still love her

But someone mentioned that the anime changed her original colour and corrected it to the original in the time skip. I also want to research that myself though.
Edit: Yes I just read that apparently she got a tan from living in Alabasta👍🏻 And then lost it afterwards when living in freezing conditions.
That Alabasta claim will never make because she is tan in her backstory in the anime

Its a travesty that both Law and Robin lost their darker skin tone, it suits them so well. And yes I know it was a mistake on the animators part but they should have just kept it, they look so much better

I wish they kept the old character designs, with the character development and new animation style.
If we take Luffy from episode 30 or something, keep his design (proportions, shape and hairstyle), update the art style (darker, cleaner lines and shadows) and give him his character development (larger muscles, the scar on his chest and even the new outfit)… that would have been ideal.
Instead they make his face look too rounded, turn his eyes into literal circles, oversize his head and make his shoulders extremely narrow. It makes him look way smaller than he is, and makes him look like a weird kid instead of a cool young adult. Even his arms and legs… while they have more muscle definition they are also way skinnier than they used to be.
The biggest sin has to be the hat though. It looked nice at the start and then it became this weirdly tall, bulbous looking thing. He used to look cool wearing it, now he looks like a wannabe mushroom.
