It’s still about a budget in Div one & some players wanted larger salaries whilst hopefully bringing in some more experienced expensive players.
Can’t have both of those .
The Mark Stott interview makes it clear the future lies in younger players that develop with us (either to help us long term or to be sold on for profit). Makes sense, but making too many changes now runs the risk of creating a side that takes a while to gel. At the end of the day, I trust the management in place at County.

At 32 Sarcevic was a big dilemma for a two year deal, a great olayer but was a bit injury prone, a younger that could replace him is Dan Kemp just released by MK Dons and Con Clarke at Altrincham
Sad to see him go and a little worried about this, hope it doesn’t start a loss of players we want to keep.
I really hope that County have the budget to compete in League one as Sarcevic and Madden looked like obvious players to retain
I think so far it’s all been pretty sensible, maybe I’m wrong but this feels like the first moment when it’s a bit like I hope we get this right but I’m not 100% sure we will.

He’s 32 🤔 depends what he was asking for doesn’t it. It depends on the clubs goal for next season. If it’s to challenge for promotion I don’t think Madden cuts it tbh.
Huge loss, bigger than Paddy in many ways. I had my suspicions we weren't hanging onto Paddy, but Sarce i never saw moving on. Huge leadership qualities and big big character in the dressing room. Just on the favourite Sarce moment was his goal vs Tranmere at home for me.

I think so, it’s not just about their ability it’s their experience aswell can’t necessarily just buy that. Although generally I do like the aim for a younger squad it needs experienced heads at the top of it.
Totally agree to let those to go at the same time isn't good its about experience

To buy someone with his experience will be expensive . Another free transfer . No money for the club. Don’t agree with this decision. Think they are after young blood who they can grow and sell on to make money . We need experienced players. Very sad loss . Clever player , good footballing brain . Not easy to replace
Leaving a lot of holes in the squad now, can only hope we’ve got something big lined up. If we can bring in maybe some league one, championship experience on a short term deal along with some young talents then fair enough but I’ll wait and see.
I did wonder what sort of budget would be given to Dave but it looks like we are going to behave like Carlisle. It is stupid to allow big players who have been important in a promotion season to leave just because they want a bit more money. So Powell will probably be captain but he doesn't have the same gravitas as Sarce.
I agree you can’t put a price on experience, I think it was more length of contract that money to be honest but either way should’ve kept at least Paddy on. Hopefully we get some good players in tho and as for captain I think Horsfall.

@@stuartryan610 it's more likely going to be Horsfall captain now. He's far more reliable purely from a games played/playable perspective. Possibly even Camps as vice. Horsfall only missed 1 game all season and has been captain at a nearly promoted Northampton a couple of seasons back. Sarce is a big loss, this window now is going to be a fascinating one. We've got to bring in some leaders and characters and Sarce had both those characteristics.

@@paulstreet1620 yes that's most likely choice but I think Fraiser needs to be focused on defence than captaincy. Him and Ethan at centre back reminds me of Mike Flynn and Jimbo
