  • Shaimaa Khalil is a presenter on the BBC World Service. She was reporting in Egypt when the former president Mohamed Morsi was ousted and also for his trial in November. In this powerful talk she relates the personal story that underlay her reporting of the momentous events in her homeland.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

I’m in awe of her courage and tenacity to keep going.
Stay safe as fundamentalists still believe women of your courage should be silenced.

Not as detached / dispassionate as most of her FOOC colleagues, - and none the worse for it. # Warm regards to TONY GRANT.
