Great dub of a classic track! Where in the world did you find these stems?
Thanks a lot! My process for this project is: if I have a vinyl version of the tune I record it in my daw by connecting my turntable to my audio interface. If I don't have a vinyl version, I rip the tune from CZcams using a virtual stereo input of my audio interface. Once I have the tune in the daw, I export it as audio file and I use FADR, an AI tool (the most advanced at the moment in my opinion) to separate the stems. So far FADR is the only tool that allows even to separate drums elements (kick snare hihat) and (sometimes) different melody lines. Once I have the stems, I go through a mixing stage, especially to improve the low end (which get quite lost in compressed CZcams audio). Then I use the "improved" stems to do the live dubbing
@@aldubone9886 Thanks, that's so helpful!

Yes Man! Great idea, at the end of this series that might be a cool idea😎🍀🔥🔥🔥
Greetings! What's your setup?
As controllers I use the Novation Launchcontrol XL as midi mixer, the Midifighter Twister to control parameters on the send FXs (plus some FXs on the riddim bus channel), and the maschine mikro mk3 as drum pad to play samples. Plus I use the mac keyboard to play a bst dub sirene, the vst is called dubby 2 Dub Sirene.
As FX I use generally 1 spring verb (mainly the one of the Alborosie Dub Station vst by Audio Thing), 2 delays (delayman unit of the Alborosie Dub Station and the Arturia emulation of the Roland Space Echo), and a Phaser (Phase Mistress of Soundtoys). Finally, I created a bass verb effect rack as Alpha Steppa shows in one of his shorts here on CZcams.
This is the standard dub set up, but often I select/create some more verbs from ableton/ max for live verb vsts, I pile them in an effect rack and so with a single send I can use different verbs.
I also group all my stems (except vocals and sound FX) into a bus, and on that bus I add another instance of Alborosie Dub Station, of which I only use the highpass filter unit (as I did also in this dub), and the Origin vst of Cymatics (which is free) since to me this sound much better to do an high-cut fx then simply using an eq plugin.
For what the Stems concerns, I use FADR (if u check in the comments of DUB of FAME Ep#1 I explained more in details how I do in detail)
Hope this helps 😎🔥🍀🍀
