After the fight on the Death Star with Luke, Vader killed Sidous so by doing that he completed the prophecy of bringing balance to the force so he redeemed himself and became Anakin again before dying in Luke’s arms and becoming one with the force. There’s a alternate ending in episode 6 where you see all the force ghost like Yoda, Obi Wan and Anakin on Endor. Anakin is wearing different jedi robes smiling confirming his path back to the light side. So this is the version we got post return of the Jedi I’m guessing.
This shows us how much of a monster Vader is. Without the suit hindering him, he has the all the speed and agility of Anakin, but still has the brute strength of Vader
The sheer weight and echo behind his footsteps give me chills. It also makes me wonder if Anakin still feels the weight of his old prosthetic limbs sometimes even after his death.

I got the feeling that Anakin would've chosen to keep her in there, and she would never have gone back to her friends. He was waiting to see if she would either fall to his blade, or fall to the Dark Side and cut him down in cold blood. After all, he's already dead, he was never in danger. She was being tested, and he smiled because she passed.
Chills hearing Vader and Anakin voice at the same time wished James earl stayed a little longer and they bring Vader back after coming out from the smoke but this is a masterpiece
I think it's better this way as it's a call back to twilight of the apprentice where there was Darth Vader with undertones of Anakin where here we have Anakin with undertones of Darth Vader. It completes the set.

Just imagine the pure unfiltered terror and grief that Ahsoka must have felt during this entire sequence. One of the best scenes in the show, and honestly probably all of Star Wars too.
Yeah, she knew exactly what Anakin was capable of in his Prime & even in old age. How many Jedi Masters he killed as Vader, solely based on his skill and strength in the Force. Anakin/Vader went easy on Luke and Ahsoka because Luke was his son, and Ahsoka was like a daughter/little sister to him. His fight with Obi Wan in the desert, he wasn't thinking straight (the same way he wasn't thinking clearly on Mustafar) & that led to him losing against Obi Wan again.
He was teaching her a lesson, not trying to kill her. When you look at scenes where Anakin/Vader is actually fighting to kill, it's much different. He was holding back there intentionally (also the original sword fighting choreographer of the prequels, Nick Gillard, was not hired for the show, which you really feel when watching Hayden fight)
I'm surprised that Anakin only chose to show flashes of his Darth Vader for a brief moment and continue his dark side while fighting Ahsoka, showing us an example of what he could have been as Darth Vader, if he hadn't lost his fight with Obi Wan on Mustafar!!!
Non crippled Darth Vader is a total monster in theory. He would be powerful enough to mid diff sidous. Remember Darth Vader fought and killed nearly all of the jedi right after becoming sith, he hadn't even learned how to use the dark side yet. So a Vader with 20 years experience and no suit would probably be the strongest sith ever

In the Vader comics put out by Marvel there is an arc where Vader enters a dimension of pure dark side energy and we see just how powerful he would be at his true potential. It's *insane*, he no diffs the entire Jedi council and Sidious back to back.
This is the Anakin I waited for since the end of Phantom Menace. Red Lightsaber, a hint of Vader's voice. Imagine if he lost his voice box in Clone Wars instead of his hand.
Anakin came to terms with who he was and who he needed to be. The contrast between his light and dark sides in these scenes is amazing. When he revealed his Vader personality, you could feel the aggression of his movements, which was not visible when he fought as an avatar of the light side of the force. Anakin coming at you head-on as Vader is probably the second scariest thing you can see as a character in the Star Wars universe.

I initially wished he was in the suit but i think seeing vader, suit and all lose to Ahsoka would've seemed too much a stretch for the vader we know. So just having anakin sort of channel vader made it feel more correct to the characters because anakin would hold back and let ahsoka win since hes teaching her.
The whole point of the sequence was to show Aniken finishing the training of his people, and that he has a perfect balance in the world between worlds. It has nothing to do with Vader it entirely has to do with Aniken.
The little 'Oh shit' face Ahsoka pulls before getting up I think sells this. It's a very much 'He's not pulling back so I should get up and not die' moment and I love it

Many have pointed out that “you lack conviction” is anakins/vaders voice combined but anyone notice when the lighting struck and flashed Vader, you can subtly hear Vaders breathing, which is another detail that I thought was really cool. This episode was and is an absolute dream come true imo.
Agreed, suitless Darth Vader would have been terrifying. Sure, the suit and the voice gave him some incredibly terrifying presence, but it hampered his combat abilities. Had Vader never been burned and he stayed like this, he'd be nigh untouchable in combat.

Watching what Vader was supposed to be, at full strength, was amazing. Her old master coming back to teach her one last lesson. The speed, the ferocity, the way Anakin jumps in and out of Vader. This scene was so fucking awesome to me
I love how much Filoni illustrates Anakin as truly being the balance in the force here. He’s able to switch between Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader to help teach Ahsoka what she needs, and show her that he is a sum of his parts now. (Deeper lore) : it really shows how much Anakin has taken on the father’s role from the Mortis arc. Absolutely amazing. How many times must people say this: there is no "balance" between Light and Dark. George Lucas himself stated that the Force is only in balance when the cancer of the Dark side was gone. There is no "gray" area "true balance" from honing both Light and Dark side...
How is that balance ? Balance means equal parts,here however Anakin only choses one persona at a time,he is and can never be both at the same time. You should also work on your Sw knowledge,in the context of Sw , balance has nothing to do with equal light and dark, balance means "the elimination" of the sith.

The Sith wanted to have Passion and stay within the dark. The Force users to truly get it right were Grey Jedi or Force users who can use both Light and Dark sides of the Force. I think Anakin is another classification since he is the Chosen one and he can switch between Anakin and Vader. So as of right now Anakin is still the embodiment of the balance of the Force.

George's original vision for "Light side" and "Dark side" is actually closely linked to "Order and natural" and "Disorder and unnatural" That's why he wrote the villains, the Sith and the Jedi's attitude toward them as the Dark Side being an irredeemable corruptive power because embracing the Dark side meant perversion of the natural order. Over the yeaes of SW media though, Dark and Light has been shifted to a more traditional sense, which did help create more interesting characters and motivations. Don't disparge the dude, he's just more anal about the old stuff and concepts.
I grew up with the prequel trilogy. Seeing him get the praise he's been denied for over a decade is cathartic. It's like I grew up alongside the character AND the actor.
When they start this part of the duel you can FEEL Hayden’s positioning and strikes change sure Anakin was a heavy hitter but he was still swifty and moved around when he had to but you can tell this is Vader style fighting now the unrelenting heavy blows keeping the pressure on at all times

Literally nothing is redeemed except for Haden. The episode was just a bunch of memberberries with NO plot point, a bunch of nonsensical impossibilities and Haden is the only good thing outside of Ray Stevenson to come from Disney wars. I loved this episode and it's memeberberries From the noises Vaders Saber made to hadens styles and flurishes to young snips and seeing Rex. But this doesn't redeem or save Disney wars.
He just flashes from human to heartless killing robot back and forth. And his voice. And his ability to wield a lightsaber. I want Hayden back. He’s the whole package.

In this episode Hayden Christensen had his redemption as Anakin, this is my favorite episode of the series, a beautiful homage to the Clone Wars and the construction of characters like Ahsoka and even Anakin too.

Yeah, he fought off most of the Jedi order even just barely embracing the dark side. If he wasn’t crippled on Mustafar he would’ve been too powerful for anyone. Speaks volumes that he can move the way he does in the suit. There’s an argument that the suit does enhance his anger due to his constant suffering in it, but it’s also a piece of junk that had to be improvised on the spot to keep him alive. Like lack of force lightning abilities because it would fry him to use.

i watched this 10 second bit over and over again even after the series i went back to this episode just to watch all the scenes with them together when Asoka was older and young but in this moment with the red eyes tapping into the dark side after trying the light to teach her what was necessary, at the end in control he took the red eyes away I have to say that was so very well done
He was more weak in this fight? He also lost to an off camera spin move, and I assume Ahsoka just grabbed his lightsaber nonchalantly (that was off camera as well)

Afterwards everyone is invited to score the episode out of 10. Very few people gave any of the episodes less than a 7. The rest of the show is good to the majority. There are always outliers like yourself. And yes, some of the most popular shows/books have to establish a story to develop characters.

You need to take your time analyzing something to truly judge how good it is. If it holds up to fair scrutiny and multiple rewatches, then it's good. So far this show has been along the lines of Mandalorian, Book of Boba Fett and Kenobi: nostalgia bait that hits cheap emotional high notes with no substance behind "I recognize thing!!!" Mark my words, with the structural integrity of this show, it's just another cheap nostalgia farm that will be functionally forgotten once it's over.

I prefer the scene earlier with his back view as he walks away from Ashoka into the mist of war. That one was more subtle, hence more haunting as well. Contextually, he's also walking into the dark side so that's pretty cool.
Because they showed us an image? Anything can do that. The only reason people like it is because they like what came before. It's a cheap way to get praise. You and every other SW fan deserves way more.

This scene is a masterpiece, the heavy footsteps, the lightning shots hinting at Vader being in control, the shoulder shrugs; PERFECTION.
Such a Vader way to says "you lack conviction", could've been a master piece seeing Hayden act Darth Vader unburn.
Just imagine the pure unfiltered terror and grief that Ahsoka must have felt during this entire sequence. One of the best scenes in the show, and honestly probably all of Star Wars too.
Yeah, she knew exactly what Anakin was capable of in his Prime & even in old age. How many Jedi Masters he killed as Vader, solely based on his skill and strength in the Force.
Anakin/Vader went easy on Luke and Ahsoka because Luke was his son, and Ahsoka was like a daughter/little sister to him. His fight with Obi Wan in the desert, he wasn't thinking straight (the same way he wasn't thinking clearly on Mustafar) & that led to him losing against Obi Wan again.

Vader has just been ruined
He was teaching her a lesson, not trying to kill her. When you look at scenes where Anakin/Vader is actually fighting to kill, it's much different. He was holding back there intentionally (also the original sword fighting choreographer of the prequels, Nick Gillard, was not hired for the show, which you really feel when watching Hayden fight)

Non crippled Darth Vader is a total monster in theory. He would be powerful enough to mid diff sidous. Remember Darth Vader fought and killed nearly all of the jedi right after becoming sith, he hadn't even learned how to use the dark side yet. So a Vader with 20 years experience and no suit would probably be the strongest sith ever

In the Vader comics put out by Marvel there is an arc where Vader enters a dimension of pure dark side energy and we see just how powerful he would be at his true potential.

Anakin came to terms with who he was and who he needed to be. The contrast between his light and dark sides in these scenes is amazing. When he revealed his Vader personality, you could feel the aggression of his movements, which was not visible when he fought as an avatar of the light side of the force. Anakin coming at you head-on as Vader is probably the second scariest thing you can see as a character in the Star Wars universe.

Hearing Vaders breathing as Anakin steps through the fog gave me goosebumps, then the transition and the small movements are just absolutely perfect

I initially wished he was in the suit but i think seeing vader, suit and all lose to Ahsoka would've seemed too much a stretch for the vader we know. So just having anakin sort of channel vader made it feel more correct to the characters because anakin would hold back and let ahsoka win since hes teaching her.
The whole point of the sequence was to show Aniken finishing the training of his people, and that he has a perfect balance in the world between worlds. It has nothing to do with Vader it entirely has to do with Aniken.

Many have pointed out that “you lack conviction” is anakins/vaders voice combined but anyone notice when the lighting struck and flashed Vader, you can subtly hear Vaders breathing, which is another detail that I thought was really cool. This episode was and is an absolute dream come true imo.

Agreed, suitless Darth Vader would have been terrifying. Sure, the suit and the voice gave him some incredibly terrifying presence, but it hampered his combat abilities. Had Vader never been burned and he stayed like this, he'd be nigh untouchable in combat.

Watching what Vader was supposed to be, at full strength, was amazing. Her old master coming back to teach her one last lesson. The speed, the ferocity, the way Anakin jumps in and out of Vader. This scene was so fucking awesome to me
I love how much Filoni illustrates Anakin as truly being the balance in the force here. He’s able to switch between Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader to help teach Ahsoka what she needs, and show her that he is a sum of his parts now. (Deeper lore) : it really shows how much Anakin has taken on the father’s role from the Mortis arc. Absolutely amazing.

How many times must people say this: there is no "balance" between Light and Dark. George Lucas himself stated that the Force is only in balance when the cancer of the Dark side was gone. There is no "gray" area "true balance" from honing both Light and Dark side...

Balance means equal parts,here however Anakin only choses one persona at a time,he is and can never be both at the same time.
You should also work on your Sw knowledge,in the context of Sw , balance has nothing to do with equal light and dark, balance means "the elimination" of the sith.

The true balance of the Force needs both the light and the dark, that's what the early Jedi got wrong cus all they wanted was to be emotionless and to part with every pleasure they had. The Sith wanted to have Passion and stay within the dark. The Force users to truly get it right were Grey Jedi or Force users who can use both Light and Dark sides of the Force. I think Anakin is another classification since he is the Chosen one and he can switch between Anakin and Vader. So as of right now Anakin is still the embodiment of the balance of the Force.

That's why he wrote the villains, the Sith and the Jedi's attitude toward them as the Dark Side being an irredeemable corruptive power because embracing the Dark side meant perversion of the natural order.
Over the yeaes of SW media though, Dark and Light has been shifted to a more traditional sense, which did help create more interesting characters and motivations.

When they start this part of the duel you can FEEL Hayden’s positioning and strikes change sure Anakin was a heavy hitter but he was still swifty and moved around when he had to but you can tell this is Vader style fighting now the unrelenting heavy blows keeping the pressure on at all times
I mean you can also tell he was holding back in every fight they had and he can still eat Ahsoka for breakfast if he wants

Literally nothing is redeemed except for Haden. The episode was just a bunch of memberberries with NO plot point, a bunch of nonsensical impossibilities and Haden is the only good thing outside of Ray Stevenson to come from Disney wars.
I loved this episode and it's memeberberries From the noises Vaders Saber made to hadens styles and flurishes to young snips and seeing Rex. But this doesn't redeem or save Disney wars.

In this episode Hayden Christensen had his redemption as Anakin, this is my favorite episode of the series, a beautiful homage to the Clone Wars and the construction of characters like Ahsoka and even Anakin too.

It's incredible how when the og shows up the best parts are about to happen. I can't stand how much hate Hayden got back in the day now everyone says he's the best. He was the best back then too. Sure attack of the clones wasn't the best movie but he still rocked it as anakin. I don't think many could pull it off like he did in revenge of the sith either.

Yeah, he fought off most of the Jedi order even just barely embracing the dark side. If he wasn’t crippled on Mustafar he would’ve been too powerful for anyone. Speaks volumes that he can move the way he does in the suit. There’s an argument that the suit does enhance his anger due to his constant suffering in it, but it’s also a piece of junk that had to be improvised on the spot to keep him alive. Like lack of force lightning abilities because it would fry him to use.

i watched this 10 second bit over and over again even after the series i went back to this episode just to watch all the scenes with them together when Asoka was older and young but in this moment with the red eyes tapping into the dark side after trying the light to teach her what was necessary, at the end in control he took the red eyes away I have to say that was so very well done

@amethyst_dawn Let's put it this way, I've been watching this show in an online watch party. The attendance is between 12,000 to close to 20,000 people. Afterwards everyone is invited to score the episode out of 10. Very few people gave any of the episodes less than a 7. The rest of the show is good to the majority. There are always outliers like yourself. And yes, some of the most popular shows/books have to establish a story to develop characters.

You need to take your time analyzing something to truly judge how good it is. If it holds up to fair scrutiny and multiple rewatches, then it's good.
So far this show has been along the lines of Mandalorian, Book of Boba Fett and Kenobi: nostalgia bait that hits cheap emotional high notes with no substance behind "I recognize thing!!!"

Can we please god get him to have his own series that is a DIRECT translation of the vader comic? I want to see the "All I am surrounded by, is fear and dead men" scene. Fresh vader going up against an entire rebel army solo? That is what I want.
I prefer the scene earlier with his back view as he walks away from Ashoka into the mist of war. That one was more subtle, hence more haunting as well. Contextually, he's also walking into the dark side so that's pretty cool.
The black robes for his costume just look so perfect
