    I've always loved how much the Strega can sound like strings. It also does a great impersonation of string harmonics. This is a lovely performance!

      Thanks! True, especially with a touch of random/noise FM it sounds like an army of strings

    Wow, that's an amazing discovery and I've never heard a chord like this coming from it. Thanks for sharing! Can I borrow your idea for a video and credit you?

    I love La Monte Young and I love Strega. This is perfect! The repressing of Trio for Strings from Dia is excellent too BTW.

      @ieat3141592 I discovered his music only recently, I also plan to do a version of the well tuned piano opening chord together with 0 ctrl and 0 coast...

      @@ieat3141592 btw, I also did a video on Composition 1960 #7 earlier this week on Strega

      @@malwida1022 if you live anywhere near NYC you have to check out the Dreamhouse. Also, if you’re into euro, I’d highly recommend Disting Ex, which has an algorithm specifically based on the work of LMY. You can tune a dream chord and then modulate it too!

    Lovely! I'm curious, what's the metallic thingy below the Tonic knob?

    • @malwida1022
      @malwida1022  Před měsícem +2

      I put a screw there that locks the tonic knob. Too easy to accidentally touch it after tuning.

    If you could, would you get a second strega? or add an 0 coast?

    • @malwida1022
      @malwida1022  Před měsícem

      Personally, I don't have a desire for a second strega, but I have an 0 coast and can very much recommend it. It will also enable you to use midi on the strega.

      @@malwida1022 I do have an 0 coast! I just find myself not gluing with it. I find myself just loving the strega so much more, I might be approaching the 0 coast incorrectly? What do you mean by enabling to use midi on strega exactly ?

    • @malwida1022
      @malwida1022  Před měsícem +2

      You can send midi to the 0 coast and set the 0 coast midi B so that the 0 coast will convert midi to cv. Then you can use the Midi B cv and gate out for the strega, e.g. use midi channel 1 to control the 0 coast and channel 2 to control the strega. You just need to tune the Strega accordingly. The 0 coast is fine with the pitch knob on 0 , but for the strega I marked the area with a white sticker. You can also approach the 0 coast like a utility module for strega, now you have another VCA, 2 more envelopes, stepped random voltage, clock divider etc... I have a video coming up where I just use the 0 coast to control the delay time on strega to cover Cortini's La Storia.

      @@malwida1022 absolutely a great idea! 💡 as you can tell i’m fairly new to modular and strega is where I feel comfortable, but I have to explore more and learn routing techniques like the ones you’ve just stated! Sooner or later I’d like to move to Serge 4U panels purely for the difference in sound but I need to learn more before I invest more into a modular system like a serge 4U. Thanks for the tips I feel much better about staying with the 0 coast now! Looking forward to your video.
