Brother, it's 100+ in California! It's f***ing hot here, man! There's no way in hell that I'm lounging/working about in f***ing jeans all day. Not unless I absolutely have to, nah! There's a ton of ways to style shorts. Some guys out there just don't know how to dress themselves, lol. Some men don't care, but a majority of men do. It's just a matter of preference, but to put restrictions on shorts? I understand some guys have shitty, skinny, twiggy legs/calves, but some of us are naturally blessed. Anyways, lots of guys wear shorts and sandals here in California. Well, at least at my University they do. It's a thing in the West Coast region, I suppose. I could not imagine wearing shorts AND sandals in the city, yuck! But here in California, wearing shorts AND sandals is the norm.
All that comes to my mind when they are talking about this is Timothy Olymphant came out here in shorts and flip flops haha

I can't stand people who can't stand people for what they wear (especially using sexist double standards).
Except for socks and sandals people of course, they should be ashamed.
People can wear what they want but sandal+socks is a verified no-fly zone for me. I tried socks with sandals once in the 90s, it was just a nasty experience.
Also, take care of your feet if you are gonna rock the sandals. I see some ashy ankled, rusty knucked, taloned, feets sometimes and I am just like; c'mon now.
That's just double-standard! You can't stand people who can't stand people for what they wear, but you can't stand people who wear socks with sandals. I mean - WTF?! I think Justin wasn't mean about it, he just shared his opinion that's all. I don't actually like Uggs I think they are horrendous on girls and anybody! But, who cares! It's just my opinion. I don't hate people who wear Uggs, I just prefer them in other shoes, lol xD Justin probably didn't mean anything mean by it, he was just expressing his opinion. Live and let live.

I'm a woman and I'm all for men wearing shorts if they want to. The flip flop thing however... I don't like them on both men and women because they're loud and ugly.
I see nothing wrong with guys of any age wearing shorts & flip flops. It's hotter than h*ll in some states on the Summer months. I couldn't imagine a guy having to wear jeans on his off time. Men, wear your shorts & flip flops!!

But I do agree flipflops should not be worn anywhere but the beach, pool, water parks, and communal showers/sauna places.
Why? They're made for casual wear you dope. If that wasn't the case then why do they sell flip flops in states where there are no beaches or any of the things you mentioned? Flip flops are a way of life.

1. It's always good to be prepared, for you may not plan to be at the beach but you could end up there anyway. Any time beyond the spring equinox is when you need to beware of surprise beach visits. You don't want to sit on the beach in long pants and your Gucci t-shirt with a sport coat and business casual footwear.
2. If you are beyond a certain age or are a parent, you should always choose comfort over style. Because who cares, no?

I agree that flip flops should only be worn at the pool or the beach, but shorts can be worn anywhere. It's funny that he's so judgmental about this but tries out tattoos he's not sure about (which is just sad) and takes his shirt off to sleep on a plain, which is desperate and attention seeking.

Maybe I’m showing my age and culture (I’m 36 and live on the east coast of Australia. Gold Coast what!) but I wear my dickies shorts everywhere. People look at me like “wasn’t that guy an extra in a blink video from 2002?” And my response is “dude it’s hot as hell out here, my jeans would look cooler but FFS This is comfortable and I’m not embarrassed”. That being said you can walk into a supermarket or onto most buses where I live with no shirt, no shoes, gut hanging out and a mullet and no one will bother you. Crisp dickies are almost high fashion 😂

Anytime it's warmer than 80 degrees, it's not only acceptable, but also encouraged to wear flip flops and shorts.
