My passenger's and I are pulled over by Police AGAIN in Melbourne, Australia. This clip is from an episode of Funny Uber Rides called 'Don't Break the Law' Watch the full video here: • Don't Break The Law.
Those are called random breath tests. Police just pull over people to make sure they aren’t drunk (or on drugs) and not making our roads dangerous! Pretty good idea if u asked me.

Australia is so strict against drunk driving and I absolutely am all for it. @@JnTmarieIn Australia we can get stopped for random breathalyser tests but they only really take 30 seconds, and if you pass the test then you’re fine to go on your merry way. Just a little procedure that saves many many lives. BTW we have this just because a lot of people like to drink in Australia, so drunk driving was a big problem, but not now really thanks to these tests!
Yeah he definitely could have been smoking the devil's lettuce but in that case the cop didn't do a Random drug test, just a Random breath test. He'd be stoked if he got away with that. Guess we will never know. The cops set up drug and alcohol buses to test for, ecstasy, methamphetamines, and cannabis here in Australia. They can pull you over at any time, anywhere. They don't test for cocaine though! 😜
In Australia I've been tested for drinking as early as 11am. Another time breath and drug test. (1740) I've also not gone through international airport security (exiting) without being checked in one way or another EVER. The most insulting was when my bag was swabbed for explosives. I never say anything, but I have always wondered why a person with no tattoos, no piercings, dressed decently, boring looking, over 50 somehow raises suspicion. I've actually thought of putting fake tattoos, piercings everywhere, mad hairstyle and clothes, just to see if they will still think I look suspicious.
In America the cops don't have the right to breath analyze you unless they have reasonable suspicion you're drunk. It's sad that they can do it just because they want to or worse yet mandate it every time there's a stop.
Why would we be normal to the largest gang in America? Why would do we have to put in the effort to fix their mistakes. They damaged their own reputation
America needs to take notes. This is such a time efficient stop that I wouldn't even be mad if I was getting pulled over and would probably stop what ever I was doing wrong.
@@Ryan-jc7qh In Australia the police often do random breath tests (RBT) late at night because drinking is very popular and naturally there are going to be drunk drivers. It’s a regular procedure, the police are usually very friendly during the test, it only takes a couple minutes, and it helps catch drunk drivers & keep the roads safer :)
In Australia, people love booze and it’s quite a tradition so naturally, there will be drunk drivers. They do a thing called RBT (Random breathalyser test). This is just a precaution
It's not about having anything to hide, it's about asserting your rights. Many people do give up their rights and that's fine, but officers should know the constitution they swore to uphold.
The reason you said thank you is because he keeps the streets safe and wants to make sure everythings fine. He saw something wrong so he made sure you were ok and the streers were safe.
This happened to my mom in Lithuania, but she didn’t speak Lithuanian so when she kept asking for English he just stuck the breathalyzer in her mouth, to which it was 0:00, that is such a fun story to tell.

It actually scares me how much some Americans on here are overreacting to this. Its a law in Australia to stop drunk drivers on our roads at peak hours of drink driving, I do not see how this is an invasion of privacy. The video is 50 seconds long, that includes the preview and him driving off, the actual pull over took what 40 seconds total. I've seen comments about fear mongering, tyranny and abuse of power. Like wtf is wrong with some people, this is mildly inconvenient at worst, the only reason you be worried is if your over the limit or on drugs. How is it fear mongering, its hardly terrifying, the cop walked up "hey mate can i see your license please", looks at license, ask authenticity question, tells him about pbt and then gets him to do it and wishes him a safe night. There is nothing scary about that unless you're hypersensitive about rights and police, which is your problem. I'd rather have a small chance of being pulled over for 40 seconds than having a similarly small chance of getting shot.
this is how you handle this situation. not like the other people who cry asking almost yelling to know what they did wrong. like just shut up. it will take 2 seconds lol. great job man.
What I was thinking everyone else just like making a scene and making the process take longer just do as they ask and if u have done nothing wrong then it’s over in minutes or seconds

Was there a reason for the uber driver to be pulled over that I cant see or something? I didnt even hear the officer tell him why he pulled him over. You cant pull someone over w/o a reason. Is there a full video somewhere that shows they did actually pull him over for a reason for us to actually conclude they were legitimately doing what they were paid to do?
Or is this possibly even in britain where they can pull you over for whatever reason? I dont feel like we have enough information on this lol.
Edit: turns out this is in australia. They can pull you over without reasonable suspicion if its to perform a random breathalizer test, which yes, was shown in the video, but I highly doubt it was "random" being pulled over at 2am. But as I said before we really dont have enough information to say either way.

Yeah he definitely could have been smoking the devil's lettuce but in that case the cop didn't do a Random drug test, just a Random breath test. He'd be stoked if he got away with that.
“If only cops were this nice in America.”
If only American citizens were this normal to police.
Cuz the police are scum bags in the US.
In America the cops don't have the right to breath analyze you unless they have reasonable suspicion you're drunk. It's sad that they can do it just because they want to or worse yet mandate it every time there's a stop.

@@Ryan-jc7qh In Australia the police often do random breath tests (RBT) late at night because drinking is very popular and naturally there are going to be drunk drivers.
