Currently, we have the smallest lands throughout our history, but when we think together with other Turkish countries, it is actually a big land. We are like a long dormant volcano. Hopefully we can see it when this volcano erupts again. 100 years have passed and we have not been able to become an empire, which is a very long time for Turkish history.
Map shows every Turkic state, the ones with colour means they are independent state or kingdom or empire, the ones have similar colour but faded tone means they are autonomus regions under that state, the ones have not colour but name means they are either under another kingdoms rule or just a Turk villiage.
Nah. It doesn't show every of them. Hungary, Kıbrıs Turk Republic, West Trakya Turk Republic etc are missing. Also there was an another protoTurkish civilizations such as Etruscan, turukku and kenger.

Flags with special meanings were used in each of the states established by the Turks. After Osman Bey changed the flag of Kayılar in the phenomenon series of ATV, Establishment Osman. Here are the Turkish states from past to present.
Great Hun Empire,
It was founded by the Mete (Bagatir) bordering Siberia in the north, Tibet-Kashmir in the south, the Pacific Ocean in the east and the Caspian Sea in the west.Western Hun Empire, It is the Turkish state founded by Panu and covers today's Central Asia.
The Western Hun Empire
(Hiung-Nu) Huns lasted from 48 to 304 AD. The ruler had the title Shan-Yu. This province was under Chinese rule.European Hun Empire,It was founded by Muncuk, Oktar, Rua and Aybars (brothers) covering the area of today's Southern Russia, Romania, Northern Yugoslavia, Hungary, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Southern and Central Germany. It is the era of Attila the Hun that caused the Great Migration in Europe and ended with Attila's death in AD 453.White Huns -
White Hun Empire,
It is a state covering northern India, Afghanistan and a part of Turkestan and was founded by Aksuvar (Aksungur).
The White Huns
(akhuns) from the Altai Mountains invaded West Turkestan in the 5th century AD and disappeared in the second half of the 7th century.
Gokturk Empire,
It was founded by Bumin Khan (Tumen) in the inaccessible valleys of the Altai Mountains (Ergenekon). In the 6th century AD, the Blue Turks established a vast Empire on both the eastern and western steppes that spanned the Volga and beyond.
Avar Empire,
It was used by Bayar Khan in the area between the Volga River, Hungary and Bessarabia. The Avars were a nomadic Turkic or Mongolian people who, in the late 6th century AD, formed a powerful kingdom that occupied the Hungarian plain and even besieged Constantinople.
Khazar Empire,
It was founded by the Khazar tribe of the Göktürks, who migrated to the West and settled in the region stretching from the Caucasus Mountains to the Danube and the middle of Russia. Its greatest ruler was Hakan Yusuf.
Uyghur State,
It was founded by Kutlug Bilgekul Khan, covering Central Asia and Northern Mongolia.This state is 8-9 in Sinkiang city of western China. It was associated with the Uyghurs, a Turkish people close to where the Turks came from in the centuries.
Karakhanid State,
It was founded by Saltuk Buğra Han, covering the Trans-Oxus region, which includes the Issyk and Balkaş lakes. This is the 10th-12th century, with capitals in Bukhara and Kashgar (Balasagun). It was an empire in the north of the Ghaznavid Empire, which was founded by a family of Karluk Turkish origin, who ruled for centuries.
Ghaznavid State,
It was founded by Alptekin in an area covering the area from the Trans-Oxus to the Ganges River, from the Caspian Sea coast to the Pamir steppes. The center of the Ghaznavid Empire, founded by Mahmud of Ghazni (998-1030), was located in Ghazni, Afghanistan.
Great Seljuk Empire, It was founded by Seljuk Khan, which surrounded the Balkaş and Issyk lakes and Tarım Derya in the east, the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts in the west, the Aral Sea, the Caspian Sea, the Caucasus and the Black Sea in the north, and the Gulf of Oman and Arabia.
Kharzemshah State
It was founded by Kudrettin Mehmet (Harzemshah) in the area covering Iran, South Caucasus, Dagestan, Afghanistan and a large part of Central Asia. Kharizm Shah was the region around Khiva, near the Aral Sea.
Golden Horde (Altinordu) State
It was founded by Batur Khan, covering the area north of Eastern Europe, the Western Urals, the Crimea and the Volga. The Golden Horde, the Mongol Khanate in Russia, was formed in the middle of the 13th century and lasted until the 15th century.
Ottoman Empire
Founded by Osman Bey in 1299, it covers Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Sudan, Arabia, Jordan, Israel, Syria, Iraq, Anatolia, Caucasus, Crimea, Hungary, Romania, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Greece, Cyprus. It reigns until the establishment of the Turkish Republic in 1923.

Only "GREAT TURKISH EMPIRES" (sixteen Turkish states) established throughout history are shown on this map! You can check on the internet, so, currently, 16 stars in the "PRESIDENTIAL SEAL of the Republic of Turkey" symbolize these "SIXTEEN GREAT TURKISH STATES"!
At the same time, some independent states are shown as showing like these Empires which are in the pale areas! You can see that many states and empires have been established in the areas from the Chinese border in the east to the interior of Europe in the west, from Siberia in the north to the lands of "present-day Pakistan" in the south. Those Big empires also exist same time they were concomitant empires as you can see!
Of course, Turkish history is not just about those maps!
The Turks were also struggling for power among themselves who were fighting with the Chinese khanate in the east. Therefore, maybe they have established an empire, but the "Turkish tribes" around them were also establishing small states at the same time! That's why they fought each other! There were betrayers and those who rebelled!
In fact, Turkish history is always the history of REBELLIONS; Few examples!
-Mete Khan killed his own father, Teoman Khan, for "establishing close relations with the Chinese and betraying to "TURK TÖRESİ" (TURKIC RULES/LAW)" and became the head of the Turkish state, and then founded the GÖKTÜRK EMPIRE!
-Selçuk Bey rebelled against OGHUZ YABGU (Khans of Oghuz) and established the GREAT SELJUKS EMPIRE with 150 MARQUEE (YURT/OTAĞ) in the "CITY OF CEND" !
-Osman Bey rebelled against the SELJUK STATE, which succumbed and was defeated by the Mongols, and founded the OTTOMAN STATE,
-Atatürk, when the state was occupied by the British and the sultan was taken prisoner, rebelled and founded the REPUBLIC OF TURKEY!
Those examples can be multiplied, But the most important thing to know is that The Turks was there have always been one or two Turkish states at the same time throughout history!
- The Republic of Turkey was the only independent Turkish state until the former Soviet Union was dissolved and the Turkic republics there became independent. Alhamdulillah, Turkish states are becoming free and independent one by one!
Throughout history, TURK has always been independent! This will never change!
