    Khal and Dali look great. The trip doesn’t seem to have affected them. Can’t wait to see the new adventures. Best of luck to everyone for a fantastic show season 🐴🇨🇱🇺🇸

      I mean it's Ireland to France. It's really not THAT far. I think in the US we forget how close together everything in Europe is. Just as they don't realize how far apart things here are.

      @@NoThankUBeQuiet It may not be as far distance wise compared to what those of us in the US are used to, but for horses who probably needed to either get on a ferry or similar, plus travel multiple hours away to a new yard when they've only ever lived one place and gone to shows fairly close to home, it would be a big change and potentially a lot of stress.

    If you flip their mane to the opposite side it lays and then cut it looks a lot more natural, a lot quicker!

    Wow, Lauren, you are a beautiful, active and seemingly effortless balanced rider. And I can see why you bought DeeDee -- she is a firecracker who clearly loves to jump and what a high and beautiful jumper she is. She can barely contain her excitement at jumping a course. Your horses are all so beautiful as well as athletic. They remind me of 17th/18th century Thoroughbreds from old paintings -- they have delicate and beautiful lines. Thank you for showing us your work-out with Khal and Dali, who look so happy and relaxed :)

    Great to see CZcams videos from you again! :) If you're happy to share, I would love to hear more about Dede, why you got her, what your plans are for her, etc. With the exception of Urano, she skews a bit older than your other horses when you bought them, so I was wondering if you got her to have another more advanced horse for competitions alongside Gabbana as the rest of yours are youngstock or only really starting their ridden career :)

    You should really continue to talk over the clips and tell us more about each horse- their name, age, how long you’ve had them, stage of their training, what they struggle with, what they are good at, what the exercise is trying to work on, how you think certain fences jumped ect

    Having come over from Holly's channel with no idea who you or any of your horses are, would you consider doing a bit of an intro type of vlog? It looks like you've also only recently returned to posting so maybe older followers might appreciate it too?

    What do you think of that tail swishing after each jump for the first horse ? Pain or just habit ?

    • @LaurenAllport
      @LaurenAllport  Před rokem +10

      A good question! And one we put much investigation into! She’s had a full check by the vets, been treated for Ulcers, saddle fitted and teeth! I’m an animal chiropractor and sports therapist; so she has many regular treatments! When I first bought her before Xmas she used to tail swish all the time even in flatwork., she felt sore and uncomfortable. After all the work and investigation, the tail swishing is only happening now when her blood is up for jumping. she feels quiet comfortable now in the body, and quiet even when flatting! I think partially some is habitual, but overall she feels much better in her body ☺️

    How does a rider as good as you fall and dislocate their shoulder!? Props for bravely getting back in the saddle

    • @Kristina__K
      @Kristina__K Před rokem +5

      Accidents happen regardless of the rider's skill. Ingrid Klimke had a fall and hurt herself badly the other year. Ludger Beerbaum just had to have surgery the other week because of a fall. The risk for accidents is higher if you have less skill and do things above your skill level, but that doesn't mean you'll never have an accident when working at or below your skill level.

      I’m REALLY good at walking, do it everyday and sometimes, I fall over 😂

      @@Kristina__K I've fallen off doing normal flatwork myself. It's just that Lauren looks so indestructible.
      Lowkey admire how she doesn't meditate much on the fall or capitalize on it in her videos unlike other youtubers. She just keeps truckin along.

      @@LaurenAllport I’m glad to hear that! My eldest mare had the same problem for a bit and she had lumbar pain from compensating for hoof issues.
      On a side note, will you be doing another how to video on stretches and massage techniques?

    As a traditional British groom I would be "shot" if i used scissors on a horse's mane or tail .pulling is the accepted method . cutting does look easier tho
