- This is an in the field guide to the Makro Racer 2 . A quick video that shows the machine on a ploughed field and pasture detecting a buried target at different depths using all modes except beach . Keep in mind the absence of the natural halo effect that happens over time and means a live target is picked up easier than these buried targets . Also we are going for deep targets in this video . Audio discrim always searchers deeper than the VDI numbers . So when we go deep you should make your mind up wether to dig or not based solely on the audio because at extreme depths which we are all after there will be no ID numbers come in . I also go thru some basic steps in the menu system . One key thing to know about the Makro Racer 2 is that the tracking mode is only suitable for all metal mode . If your in all metal mode with tracking on and switch to a discrim mode the tracking will remain on however . Please always make sure tracking is off when using any of the discrimination modes . Johnny English good luck mate. I gave my Racer 2 to my brother. I sold my Anfibio today too. I turned down a free Simplex off them. I can’t promote aTurkish brand no more. Not after Tyrkey went to war with the Kurds and freed ISIS. I’d like to delete all these videos but I won’t Cos I know some find them useful. Best of British to you mate.

i have a mk 2. i buried a pound coin at 8 inches but cant find a setting that gives it a beep at all?

Anglo Celtic Metal Detecting thanks yeah good idea, yeah the village i live in was recorded in the doomsday book also the street i live on has a church which dates back to 1043 so lots of history being quite rural lots of land surrounding me so fingers crossed! Will definitely give you a shout WHEN i secure a permission 👍

I must be doing something wrong with the Makro Racer I am using, on tests, I put a coin in the ground and it really struggles to pick it up at anything below 5" in all metal mode, it will be very scratchy .. the deepest I have dug to is 4"...
Simon Davidson What settings are you using ?
I have tried various settings, tried all metal, two tone and three tone, adjusted other variables, tried the small coil and the larger coil and the only way the Racer gets a solid clear tone is when a coin is less than 4" in the ground, the ground is clean from any other metals.. any deeper and that coin is a scratchy signal, tried different coins, copper coins, 1 euro coin, 20p coin, etc
Simon Davidson I had the Kruzer out the other week to do a depth test. It was nowhere near as deep as my Racer 2 . But I reckon it was the ground . I tested the Racer 2 on clean ground but the Kruzer on very noisy ground . Try it on clean ground and if it still will only go 4 inches Email Makro and ask them for help and advice . Maybe there is a fault .
Nice one Steve, certainly goes deep, how is it on small silver, or gold, also how is the pinpointing on the Racer. might even sell my Etrac and go for the Racer 2 if its lighter as well.

Ha HA ! I own two Minelab Explorer II's and have found some very nice coins, relics, and jewelry with the machine. I Have resisted buying another Minelab machine the Etrac especially because they seem to have a "cult" following kinda' like them Druids ya' know? I just received my Makro Racer 2 from a seller in Turkey. So easy to set up and well balanced. I also got the wireless headphones to keep from stepping onto my cables. I have the Nel Snake & Tornado coils. Also the Mars Tiger coil for my two Makro Racers 1 & 2. I enjoy your videos and sense of humor. Thanks for helping out us Racer lovers. Peace.
how does this compare to the racer 1? have been given a good deal on a racer 1, wondered if i should save for the second racer if it performs better, cheers.
I had the Racer 1 . A decent machine , deep . Clumps a lot of the targets around the numbers 82-83 . Racer 2 has addressed that problem . It's got better build quality . It has a notch feature , menu save , iron audio and a few other features the R1 doesn't have . Overall a more refined machine but I did well with both of them mate . Good luck .
AT Pro or Makro 2 , advice please ? mainly beach detecting .
MrWadstw AT Pro is not a beach machine . Racer 2 is and will kick the Pros ass on the beaches and the land mate
a great machine mate would be nice to find one cheap, a shame that makro 1 went the other week. hh and be lucky ya puff !!!!
