Hi. You are quite right. Those ones stuck with tape or glued in are a problem as well as controversial on weather the stamp is even worth removing in the case of adhesive tape mounting. In these cases soaking the entire page in hot water is what I do. I do not try to save the page. After the stamp is free, dried and pressed I examine it for glue stains and decide whether to keep it or not.
