Agate can be mined the same as any other rock or mineral. Where I live there are agates are among other rocks and mineral excavated or *mined*, albeit not specifically. There is just a good amount of pure and different sizes/mixes. But some of my favorites I found include a 20 pound chunk of white/clear grey chalcedony, many 5 pound chunks of blueish grey chalcedony (some with mica or pyrite inclusions), yellow chalcedony, red-white-and black agate. We put around 100 yards of freshly mined rock from the local quarry. I'd estimate around 7-10% were either pure agate/chalcedony or had inclusions.
