I’m trying to figure out how MS patients can go from a wheelchair to walking again? I’m wheelchair bound since January 2020 I did have mono in 9th grade.

I think physical therapy (PT) is a good place to start for anyone trying to get out of a wheel chair. They need to strengthen the hips, thighs, etc. I'm not a doctor or nurse, but I think this, along with transitioning to a walker from the wheelchair is the beginning. I hope you are able to walk again with the help of therapy.

Treatments equal money availability. Walking is overrated especially when you don't know where you are going. Rest and self care, mentally and physically are key to living with MS, since there is no cure anyway. Studying and having MS are totally different.

How can you say walking is overrated Donna? Right now I would give anything to walk right again and get my quality of life back.

@@roberture5903 hello Robert, hope this finds you doing well. I haven't been able to walk for about 13 years, I use a wheelchair. The struggle to walk was exhausting as well as frustrating. Using the chair, I am able to live so much better. Not exhausted and pretty happy. I raised 2 children alone and continue to drive my van, with hand controls, cook, shower, do laundry, go shopping, etc. The use of the chair is so freeing. It opened life for me again. Please take care and pick your battles and make changes so you are living your best life
