I agree. When translating other languages to Filipino, it doesn’t always have to be a word-for-word translation but ‘contextual’. Just because Ryan sometimes talked in ‘longer sentences’ when translating what the RM cast said to Manny, complete with facial expressions and gestures, it seemed to them that Ryan added more to what they said.😊

I'm from the PH, and I've enjoyed seeing Ryan Bang on TV since his Pinoy Big Brother stint. He is one of those TV personalities that are funny without them trying so hard to be. Ryan's expressions in translating it to Filipino actually helps Manny to understand the context of what was said because we actually talk with "emotions". It's only funny now that the Koreans just noticed it from Ryan but I thought what Ryan did was a typical, natural Filipino conversational expression. Every Pinoy who can translate from other languages to Filipino would surely do exactly what Ryan did here. That's just how Filipinos converse.
I think maybe also because Filipino (Tagalog?) is a longer language than Korean. Like the same sentence in English is longer than in Korean, Chinese and Japanese because those languages have no pronouns, articles, etc. I dont speak Filipino but it sounds like he's adding on stuff because the sentences are so long

I've tried choosing Filipino caption before and long sentences would take up half the screen and I have to speed read otherwise I'm only halfway through the caption but then it changes to the next instantly.😂
I love seeing Sandara and Ryan speak in Tagalog. Their whole mannerisms change. You can just tell they are more comfortable being themselves in tagalog and their personalities become chill and laid back. Us koreans need to live more like the filipinos and enjoy life and be happy .
I think Ryan was offered for a variety show by SBS way back 2018 but he declined as I think he has Showtime(variety show in Phil) at that time and just chose to stay here in the Philippines but when he was interviewed I think last 2021, he kinda regretted it. Hope he gets offered again. 😊
