During 2021, i also had trouble defending. What i did to overcome it is by using build up+build up or build up+destroyer combo. The best advice i can give you is play a lot of online matches and see how your defending fails and learn from those mistakes and figure out how to not repeat those mistakes

Use a bit of match up and dont panic when the balls loose think straight like when you loose the ball when the defenders are not in place its hard to defend so use match up other techniques to slow the attacker giving time for defender to fall back in position hope this will increase your game play on 🫂
