I just love pillows. It’s such as easy way to transform your look. My tip is to look for pillows that have down filled inserts on the clearance rack at Home Goods, TJ Maxx and Marshall’s. It’s cheaper to buy the insert this way instead of buying them at Pottery Barn or wherever. Then I donate the pillow cover I didn’t use to a local thrift store. Thanks Hannah!

I invested this year and bought all Pottery Barn feather inserts. I love mixing a suede,a leather, and a linen blend pillow grouping. All different sizes including a couple round fun pillows. PB does run sales every few weeks so you can get good deals if you check the website often.
Great Hannah love that black pillow, I have a sofa just with five pillows different size I think six looks overcrowded for my liking😊😘but I love the idea of the site that offers a combination of different patterns I always struggle with mix and Match patterns then I will give up and just put solids 🤦🏻♀️🤣

I used to be the same way. Uniform pillows….. which is still a beautiful symmetrical look, but I recently wanted to try something a little different and I’m really happy with how things worked out! Don’t be afraid to try something different, you might just end up liking it! 😀❤️🥰

My sofa is not long so I do 2 on 1 side & 1 on the other side ~ it would look too crammed with anymore.

Yeah with small sofas they are an exception to the rule. There would literally be no where to sit. Guests would come in to sit down and you’re like “oh no… yeah you can’t ACTUALLY sit here…. It’s for the pillows” ❤️❤️❤️😂😂😂😂😜😜😜

If you want them to be more versatile (you can flip it if it get's worn) & more upscale looking definitely get pillows with same pattern on back & front.
Zippers are PARAMOUNT.

This is true! Totally forgot about Ikea. I don't get down there much (its about 45 minutes away from me) but they have some very affordable covers!!!

Typically I’ll start looking at fall stuff early September. I reevaluate what I have first before buying anything new. I can’t believe it’s (almost) that time of year!!!!!
@@Hannah_naylor_ I know! Fall doesn’t have quite the appeal it did when we lived in Missouri/Michigan/Pennsylvania etc., but Arizona does have nice weather in the fall-I just really miss the 🍁!
As always, I love your suggestions. I've read through all the comments and listen several times to the video. Now the question that I dont hear addressed... I get the color variations, texture and print for each corner on the L shape sofa but do you use different pillows combo in each corner. Just following the same tones.

Hi Celeste. Not necessarily. If you like more symmetrical design … then you can copy the patterns on either corner (there really isn’t a right or wrong answer …. But more personal preference).
If you want a little bit of dimension and visual interest then you can have a mixture of colors and patterns. That’s what I currently have. Same color pallet but have incorporated different patterns for each corner.

Do you recommend varying the pillow sizes when 3 in a corner?
Yes absolutely! I think it adds different heights. Start with larger in the back and taper down. For example (24x24, 22x22, 18x18). That would be my approach 😀
I always have the hardest time picking pillows that go well together 😭. So this helped also Hannah what size pillows do you recommend for a more elevated look?
Yay! I am so glad my video came to be useful for you. As far as sizing goes... I recommend, 22/20's for largest size, and 18 for smallest size. So, you could do a cluster of 3 (22,20,18)! 😊😊😊😊😊
Hannah, I have a non-pillow decorating question. I have a console and on the lower shelf, 3 Studio Mcgee off-white plaster plant pots. Though similar height and finish, they each have different design. Should I be using identical faux plants in each for flow? Also, is there a certain height they should project above the pot? Thanks so much and I appreciate your advice.xo🌞Fl.
I would opt for different plants (that compliment each other) for some variety. For example, a rosemary, a lavender, and a white rose. Something that pairs well with each other. Each plant that carry a different texture, color etc. I think that would look best. There is no rule of thumb on how high a plant should be above the pot. You obviously want it do fit proportionally with the pot selected.

The sideboard behind me in my intros are where some of it stays as well as another sideboard upstairs. Pillow are stored in our laundry room.
