Let me speak up, as I mainly deal with Life Skills at BDO :) I myself have almost all Life Skills on the main character because I didn't want to spend a lot of money on weights for separate characters. It's better to stack all the weight on one character, then you can, for example, organize very long sessions of cooking or afk processing, and on the other hand grind mobs on the spot longer. One big downside: copying Marni's gear doesn't allow you to use Life Skills, so be warned! However, for sure sailing and barter (the weight of the ship matters there) will be a separate character, Corsair is recommended for the buff (Sea Lungs = extra Ship stats). I also split the gathering on several characters at once, exactly three Shai (this class starts with gathering right away on Pro 1), simply because I left them in different gathering places. Then you don't have to move from place to place, important when, for example, it turns out that the spot is occupied, you can then quickly relog to another character standing in a different place. It is also more efficient due to the stored energy and will still be profitable even when PA introduces energy common for the whole family in the future. Shai is generally dedicated to Life Skills, in addition to tree skills, even her two typical outfits have bonuses, one for gathering and one for alchemy, so you don't need to buy special costumes (although of course the Alchemy costume gives slightly better stats). Let's also remember that Life Skills levels increase the score statistics of the whole family, so getting, for example, Fishing Guru 1 (which is very fast) on two or more characters, allows you to reach the highest possible Family Fame 7000 score faster, which gives you +1.5% silver from Central Market and +10% Drop Rate.

I play this game using a controller on PC (gamepad 🎮). Sniper Hunting currently does not work on controller. The sniper simply does not function. All other life skills work as intended, including the matchlock. Hopefully they fix this one day.
