Stockholm is the capital of Sweden. It has the most populous urban area in Sweden as well as in Scandinavia. 1 million people live in the municipality, approximately 1.6 million in the urban area, and 2.4 million in the metropolitan area. The city stretches across fourteen islands where Lake Mälaren flows into the Baltic Sea. Outside the city to the east, and along the coast, is the island chain of the Stockholm archipelago. The area has been settled since the Stone Age, in the 6th millennium BC, and was founded as a city in 1252 by Swedish statesman Birger Jarl. It is also the county seat of Stockholm County.

Crossing the streets in Stockholm is such a fun activity, at least for me. When I was there last month, I actually had to watch people how to cross the street before I did for the first time. I was scared of crossing the street when you’re not supposed to even if there’s no cars, which is a Stockholm thing to do, and I tried it anyway 😂 and it was so different when I was in Copenhagen, people actually follow the signs even when there’s no cars. 😂
I had to go to Odenplan again and walk around the neighborhood. Such a beautiful area.
Anyways, I LOVE ESPRESSO HOUSE! That was the first thing I do in the morning when I was in Stockholm, I even did it when I was in Copenhagen. Their coffee is better than Starbucks! 🙌🏽
I really enjoy using the metro in Stockholm, very convenient and so efficient. I got lost in the metro and it was the best thing that happened to me, at least I got to discover new places.
Definitely a tea drinker, we struggled to get a decent cup of tea whilst we were in Stockholm, but did enjoy the fika.
In most places you can make it yourself.

Hi Daniel! Thank you for another lovely walk! I'm from Poland, but I feel like Stockholm is my second home where I truly belong and I'd like to move there in the future. I love all the autumnal colors in this walk, and beautiful, clean buildings ❤ I'm also a BIG Espresso House fan, their coffee is just so delicious and I'm so sad we don't have that chain in Poland 🥺🥺 Anyways thank you that thanks to your videos I get to experience my lovely city from far away! ❤

It was my first time, I don't have a connection there, but I have been hoping to visit for many years, have tried to teach myself Swedish and had hoped to study there pre-Brexit. What about you? Have you been recently or maybe planning to visit?
@@MonsieurMcGregor I've never been to Stockholm but I got interested during the pandemic when all the usual modes of travel were unavailable and I chose to "visit" a city that I'd never been to. Here's hoping that one day I'll get to visit for real. Are you studying elsewhere now?

Big coffee fan. I only drink it with milk or what is called "half and half" here (half milk, half cream). No sugar. When I'm at home, I buy Illy or Lavazza ground espresso and make it with a French press. I wish that I had an espresso machine. I love good espresso.
When I was younger, I thought that the Starbucks candy-in-a-cup stuff was good...and then I lived in the Middle East (in a country with no Starbucks) for a few years and lost my taste for it. I like to say that I learned what good coffee really is.

Hi Daniel! I've been binge-watching your videos for the past three months or so. I ended up in Stockholm in March last year as a result of the war in Ukraine, (the country of my origin). Your channel has been one of my most amazing discoveries in a long time. Having been a totally blind person since birth, there are not too many ways of exploring new unfamiliar areas, and watching your videos is the greatest one I've found so far! Although I am unable to comprehend and process the visual part of the content, your detailed narration gives me an opportunity to get a pretty clear picture of what the city and the objects you pass by look like. The Green metro line project is an absolutely wonderful series of videos from my point of view, partly because I myself live on the green line. :D The other stuff, however, is as awesome. Keep up the good work and I can't wait for you to reach my station, which is Vällingby. Tusen Tack!!!

Hi Daniel! Plain strong, black coffee, thats´s what makes You going, all year around. Vasastan is a really nice part of Stockholm. You showed us the statue of Elin Wägner, the journalist and feminist agitator. She also wrote a remarkable modern book, way back in 1941, about environmental issues and animal welfare, titled ”Väckarklockan” (”The Alarm Clock”). Well known writer Astrid Lindgren also lived in Vasastan, on Dalagatan, opposite to the park. A lovely autumn walk. Thank You! /Ulf

Thanks young man, nice walk. In answer to your question, I drink coffee. Nescafe instant with a splash of fresh milk. The wife makes coffee in a pod machine which I find isn't hot enough or strong enough. In cafes here at home we ask for a 'flat white', which is just espresso with a little milk.
My question is how do you milk an oat??

I see that Sweden is like the UK in that cyclists are permitted (do I mean encouraged?) to ride across pedestrian crossings when people are using them. Anyway, it has to be coffee. I have it with Arla B.O.B. milk which is skimmed but tastes like semi. Arla is a Danish co-operative so I assume it's sold in Sweden.
Of course it's sold here.
