I heard a line in Sandman about how we humans keep looking for stuff to make us worry. Your life right now Freesia I believe is perfect. You have a partner, a dog and according to what I see in the snipets of your life that you share with us, a very lively life with family and friends and adventures. THAT IS A WONDFUL LIFE. It's exactly what we should be doing, not being stuck with jobs and contracts with 30 vacation days and organising our lives around that. (Unless you of course feel empty living like that, then I hope you find your calling). I wish you more success and keep on living and enjoying the NOW. You are doing very well. Don't worry too much about having a calling. I went through the same thing till I listened to this fantastic women on PBS giving a motivational talk. She mentioned that very intelligent people who think from the Right side of their brain tend to try many things and move on to something else. They tend to get bored easier and want to be creative with something new. I stopped worrying about a calling and just enjoyed learning new things. I still do. Enjoy your creative side. (I don't remember the women's name as it was several years ago).

For me, when I tied calling with my career or what I did is where I felt lost and I can and have done a lot ..but even being a jack of all trades, over all I love to teach.. so I sought out and tried many aspects and forms of teachings. I noticed that I had passion to teach something specific and I was even willing to forgo income from time to time to do it..yet I still learn & try other things! It all adds value it's not wasted I will put it towards perfecting my craft of teaching. You know?
So overall you enjoy creating so maybe as you continue to seek the many areas of creativity you may find a pattern that you return to.

Regarding having a calling! I feel the same. I think having a calling for me means doing what i think the next thing is for the next phase of life and acknowledging how doing that is for me but it also impacts others so let me find the best way to go about this so everyone (or at least those closest to me) benefits. So while there is a career title/lifestyle (loosely) i'm taking steps towards having, I'm open to that not being the actual end goal. I guess on my deathbed i'll have a short response "x was my calling in life"... sorry that was morbid but true!

I used to be really tortured by a calling but the pressure of having one purpose in life can rob you of all the good things happening now. From what I see, just living the best life you can is sometimes the highest one can be-so enjoy the moment! ❤

I feeel you and I can relate when it comes to trying to find your purpose. We’re apparently called jack of all trades 😂 simply multifaceted ☺️ and it’s okay to not know what you’re calling is! As long as we’re creating and trying new things, challenging ourselves to see what else we are capable of. I love it when you said you enjoy the process of learning new things because there’s just a lot to discover out there!

When you see in Paris go to the Eiffel Tower. In the corner on the ground floor (next to the tower) is a small post office. Send yourself a postcard. It’s the only place to get an Eiffel Tower stamp on your mail 😁

Freesia, I feel like you might like listening to Athena Calderone's More Than One Thing podcast. I related to it so much and think you would to, as someone who is always searching for something to learn, being stimulated by a new creative outlet, and then moving on.

I can totally relate to "your calling" discussion. I definitely steer towards creativity and am also good at a lot of things rather than being an expert one single thing but i think that's the beauty of learning and honing your unique talents especially if you're always wanting to be creative! When it comes to finding my calling/purpose, i always pray to God for guidance for ANY decision. Even if it's to meet people since i know not everyone has the best intentions. I would suggest to ask God for a specific sign like a butterfly or something and He shall answer. Isiah 7:10-11 "God spoke again to Ahaz. This time he said, 11 "Ask for a sign from your God. Ask anything."
Keep praying and ask Him what your purpose is and to give you clarity and I'm sure it will come to you when least expected and most needed. In the meantime, i've been challenging myself in areas i'm not particularly "good" at while improving the areas i'm confident in that can make the world a better place. When something doesn't feel right, that is God's way of telling you to not go on that path (like the meeting people example).
I would try to follow my intuition when something i do makes me feel good whether that's for myself or for others or both even! I hope He helps you feel less lost and more confident in finding your calling :) Everyone has a path already designed for them, just trust the Creator as He does not give as the world gives. Just don't wait around for an answer but let it come to you as you should always live your life to the fullest :)
My favorite Bible verse that i go to when i need more peace: "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. I do not give as the world gives. Let not your heart be troubled, and do not be afraid” (John 14:26-27).
(Honestly am a bit nervous commenting with a religious perspective and with such vulnerability being exposed but just wanted to share what i've been going through as well)

It spoke to my 20s and as I am much calmer nowadays, I realized something awesome...
You are right where you are. As uncertain as it may seem, we know life has no guarantees.
But, more importantly, you're noticing the shifts in life, and therefore, keep listening. Life is but a series of transitions as we chameleon through experiences. I think the more the merrier, but it can feel untethered and out of control. I've learned now to lean into it, from illness, to passings, to job transitions.
IMO jack of all trades folks (like me and my partner in crime), it's natural to try and do many things. Your calling may not be "one thing" and stick with it type. But you may have the personality and versatility to tackle excellence across experiences: pursuit of opportunity, focus, tenacity, curiosity, diving into something new. That itself can be called passion; to keep trying and figuring things out at any given moment. That's a life of building the skills of resourcefulness and curiosity!
My partner is one such resourceful person, highly curious and bright, a fixer of many things and chaser of many adrenalines. He is not devoted to "one thing" or career path, but applies his skill of problem solving to "many things", which end up helping a lot of people and making rooms brighter! And no, he's not a carpenter or a doctor, as much as I think he'd be great at it, he does many other things. And it makes him happy.
Keep doing things as long as you feel content and interested. Once lost, you'll know when you move on. That may be your calling, and you've been listening :)

I definitely believe in having a calling or vocation, but I don't think it's guaranteed in every life. I don't feel like I have one right now, but I have the passion and creativity that would suit one; I just haven't found that *thing* you know?

Maybe there’s no such thing as a calling (or it’s not something you can “find”). We sometimes need to take a break from social media and know what we truly enjoy in life, instead of thinking if the hobby or job looks cool to others.
