  • Today's goal is to get started on our new orchard. Like Justin Rhodes, if we can just get 1% done each day, we will be closer and closer to our dream homestead! While I am not able to transplant our entire orchard, I am at least about to get one fundamental step done!

20 feet should be enough between the rows, we made our rows 7 metres apart, which is about 23 feet. Distance between trees within the rows is 5 metres, or about 16 feet and I think that is plenty. Are you just going to grow the staple fruits or are you looking to grow weird and wonderful stuff as well? We like to grow all sorts of weird fruits and currently are at about 60 trees, still all young, but starting to bear fruit, so exciting. I think you might be in a similar climate zone to us, but on the opposite side of the planet, just looking at the types of plants you are growing. Keep up the good work.
