Man, Lost Ark has its problems, and I recognize that, but still, I enjoy the game, I appreciate the gameplay, the environment. When I stopped thinking like a super competitive player, as if my life depended on being super strong or having a perfect raid, I started enjoying the game again the same way it did when it was released in Russian years ago. Lost Ark is still a very, very good game.
Really fun video, it made me laugh non stop. For ppl that doesnt play lost ark, solo mode is a really usefull tool to learn raids. Keep in mind that matchmaking groups still would require certain item level and certain gear to join those groups. However, solomode is made in a way that makes the player enjoy the raid so its completely viable to simply play the game via solo raids.
I really liked the style in this video. Very entertaining

my man, just returned after a semi long break, and when you called me and my fellow supports a poep with a gun, i litteraly laughed out loud, jesus that was good my man.
Someone who gets it, people ultimately progress to a point of never stop hitting boss unless I die and blame support if I die even though their shield/dr was on cooldown from the last two patterns.
For me its our small community, just chatting with them while doing raids and being jailed

great video - even though in the day to day we get frustrated with sg/ags and want to mincraft ourselves sometimes... its important to remember that this game at is core is fun as fuck

I like raiding and the raids in this game are cool but I am bad at the game and this game is wildly unforgiving to that. In wow pretty much anyone can do normal difficulty raids and i still get to check out the story and get new gear. Also this game as so many mechanics where if you make a mistake not only will you die, you take out the entire group in the process.
I am definitely going to give the solo mode raids a look though, if for nothing else I can just practice a ton

Great video Cauttyh but I still tell everyone that asks me about the game to just not invest time in it. Been playing MMOs for almost 2 decades now and the way the game is progressing, for example, making new systems with barely any time to prepare, every goddamn major update its just too much for a normal/casual person to enjoy. Although, it is still a great game and hopefully this solo content could potentially bring up some new players and even ogs butI don't think, once again from a casual perspective, its going to last. Simplicity was always something that kept big MMOs alive and Lost Ark is everything except simple (not saying raids are hard, in fact, I found them fairly easy since it always involved mechs at certain 'x' bars and so on, nonetheless, they were really fun)
Man, I recognize that the game has its problems, and I agree with you on that point. But I also think it's a mistake to set goals like that, if you don't reach the current end game of the game? And? Does the game stop being fun because of this? I'm far from the latest content in the game, and I enjoy what I'm doing, without pressure, now with solo raids, I'm even more relaxed. Each person plays the way they want, I just think that if you set goals for tryhard players, it takes away a lot of the shine from the game. The game has its problems just like any game, but I also see that nowadays, it is the community itself that creates the problem.

I love this game but I hate playing it, the game feels like homework, the gatekeeping is annoying and even though you are incentivized to make 6 characters the game is not alt friendly at all. I hope tier 4 changes are good but until real changes are made i’m not coming back.

I loved Lost Ark but i had 1 BIG PROBLEM. The game loop encourages ALT characters to heavily. I love to play just 1 character but at the end i logged in did my dailies and then i had nothing to do because my favourite content was weekly or daily locked. How is the endgame loop today?

For a "So Should You" video this undermines the things that need to be said and so for those reading the comments here's a small info of the things that "You Should" know:
1. Inferno, which only a small percentage of the player base attempts, is a mode most players would never even dare attempt since most players actually have things to do outside this game.
2. If it was discussed how the game actually plays and what you need to do to progress then it would be understandable why only a small fraction can even have the time to attempt #1.
3. The monetization side and how progression is like; This game is roster based rather than character based since most MMO players are used to other MMOs where you have your mains and having other characters are not necessary to progress your account aside from lets say life skills/crafting. F2Ps have to bust out a full roster that farms gold and silver and other farmable mats while P2W can just Pay.
4. Horizontal Progression is so heavy that you actually need to optimize the way you play Dailies and Weeklies so that you aren't punished for even playing the game.
5. Pheons.
6. Gatekeeping and why people are excited to have Solo Raids in an MMO game (LOL)
7. Time gates for most people and some systems that can be skipped by being P2W.
8. Supports are not just shield bots but require mastery of their class and rotations to actually be lifesavers and damage boosters at the same time. How high skilled supports improve and carry the overall experience of their party.
9. RMT for gold and gems.
But I think this video really shows enthusiastically that the combat of LostArk is just really if not the best, but one of the best combat in all of MMOs.

My issue with Lost Ark as a former player. I know full well that if I decide to try and play, once I reach whatever item level is beyond brel hm. I'm not going to be able to join a single party because I ain't got a clue what I'm doing. The solo mode looks cool though II guess.

because no matter how good the content is (which it truly is), having everything that is fun on a weekly lockout is absolute fucking horseshit.
its an endless spiral of wanting more fun so you start and alt which means spending loads of money or even more loads of time of absolute braindead "content" to get to the fun part. guess what 2 weeks of this shit and the alt is at the point that the fun for a week lasts just a few hours. so what now? ah yes a new alt.
took me also 2500 hours to realize that the awsome content isnt worth the bullshit around it

This game is a full time job. And It's a job that doesn't pay a single penny. So today I prefer to stay offline and limit myself to watching LA videos.
I’m ready for solo raids to get back to playing more. The team jail is getting rough. Hope it expands to hard mode and newer raids.

as a new player you should not touch this game... except you play Solo and are not interested to push into endcontent which is fine: you will get to the endconten some time, but later.
BUT if you really want to get to the real endcontent which means Group Raids you wont be able to play the game: gatekeep, toxicity, RMT etc is going to stop you except you RMT yourself.
Trust me: this game is a money grab game.

"Supports are dps with shields" is like the worst take ever about lost ark. But other than that pretty accurate.
Supports do 0 dmg themselves. They dmg buff dps and bring shields/heals to sustain. But constantly attack the boss just like dps
Bots ruined this game since it was forcefully high end players to gatekeep but in general, people just love to Gatekeep anyone who doesn't stand up to their gears.

Hell modes especially valtan,.clown, and brel are the best combat Lost Ark has to offer. It's sad that doing these modes hinders your accounts progression.
Definitely encourage all new players to give hell mode a go starting with Valtan!

Ah yes the work game, if you dont have 1k hours or more in $$$ to invest dont bother lol I love the combat/classes but everything else is horrible. Leveling/gearing/progression systems (cards/gems/engravings etc.. all trash systems). They will never keep new players around in this game. So the whales/tryhards will be always left. For how long can they pump enough money for the game to survive we will see.
