  • Tommy Lynch's Shad Rap variation of the original Drunk and Disorderly is tied on a bent front hook in order to get a little further down in the water column. It can also be tied with 5mm rattles in the front hook (omitted in this video). The front hook is an Ahrex TP650 which has a 26 degree bend. The wedged head is able to catch a lot more water because of this bend, and allows the fly to erratically dart and dive.
    Back Hook: Ahrex TP610 #1
    Tail: Silver Flashabou
Body: Silver UV Polar Chenille/White Cross Cut Rabbit
    Overwing: Natural Mallard Flank
Connection: 19 Strand .38 Beadalon and 1 Bead
    Front Hook: Ahrex TP650 #1/0
Skirt: Silver Flashabou/White Cross Cut Rabbit
    Body: Silver UV Polar Chenille
Overwing/Lateral Lines: Silver Flashabou/Natural Mallard Flanks
    Throat: Chinchilla Cross Cut Rabbit
Collar: Gray Premo Deer Hair Tips
    Head: Gray/White Deer Hair (Wedged)
Eyes: 5mm Fish Skull Eyes (Fire)
    Head Sealant: Loon Thick UV

Watching you do the detail work (trimming heads etc) is never boring, it's where I learn the details that make a better looking streamer.

Awesome, especially the hair work. I've been doing ok with d&d's but the stacked hair collar technique is what I really needed to get a better tie and head. Thanks!

Thanks! I struggled for a long time with the wedged heads as well. I’m glad the video helped out.
