Back yard BBQ, beer and
Cold chisel nothing better.
One of the greatest bands to perform live ever. Jimmy’s vocals just take it to another level.
Can't believe there are people out there who suggest the Farnham versions are better. This is absolute peak.
Completely agree!
Agree completely
Agree!!! Farnham is overrated! Mossy is very underrated most reactions I have seen people instantly get how good he is!
Agreed.
Not better just 2 awesome Aussies giving their all to an amazing song. It’s like apples and oranges. Both John and Chisel do this song as only they can. It’s the meaning of the song and both versions certainly hit you in the feels 😭
Are we hearing that? Yes, yes we are 😉 Thanks for your reaction matey, love your stuff
Loved it man. A lot of people over here say that Jimmy can't sing that all he does is scream but in this song you hear him in the background with the real high notes with none of the grit or growl just a pure clean sound and it shows that these people haven't got a clue as to what the man is capable of.👍👍
Never met a single bloke that says Jimmy cant sing. You must be meeting morons.
yep....and quite a few chisel songs are just his pure tone without the grit ..
(choir girl " for one ) i totally agree
Jimmy is an amazing singer!
Jimmy grew up in Elizabeth downs, not many men could survive his childhood and find a use for it in vocals. Once you understand how rough he had is plus the years of alcohol and drug consumption in his early years you understand it’s not screaming it’s pure raw unfiltered emotion. The guy is pure soul
Mate, “a lot of people” have no musical taste or knowledge AT ALL. Grüße aus Australien.
People say he is screaming but Jimmy had a childhood not many people would survive. Growing up in Elizabeth downs back then was not easy. Plus the early years of drug and alcohol use. The guy isn’t screaming, his voice i the most raw pure form of emotion and when you understand that his music is some of the most soulful stuff you’ll ever listen to.
I love the studio version as well.
Chisel have a pretty vast cateloge - Cheap Wine, You Got Nothing I Want, Flame Trees, Saturday Night and Khe Sanh are a few worth checking out.
What about breakfast at sweethearts, Shipping Steel
@@chrisalldis3375yes great songs so is Standing on the Outside Looking In.
Goodbye (Astrid Goodbye)
As someone commented on elsewhere Ian moss voice is one of regret and Barney voice is one of pain
One of their best....
Ian Moss sings the intro vocal, the recorded version is sublime.
This was fantastic so glad you enjoyed him and yeh he definitely has the Steve Perry vibe. Not sure if you noticed his Scottish accent? It’s not as strong as it used to be but definitely still there! I would suggest you do Cold Chisel Saturday Night next.
the guitarist. his solo stuff is amazing too
The blues is universal. Ian Moss grew up in Edit, Alice Springs ,that might he the most isolated town in the whole world, literally in the middle of Australia and the next town over 100 people is 1500 miles in any direction.
Alice Springs has over 20,000 people and is about a 4 hour drive from Uluru.
Alice also happens to be where Mossy was born and raised - not Uluru.
@@kane29842 thank you , made the correction, I knew Alice but typed Ayers , brain fart
There is a performance I think you will love - Jimmy at his peak performing with INXS - Live - 'Good Times' - it is fantastic both singers great Aussie voices
Mary, I have that video on my playlist. They were great together. INXS fan from England 🇬🇧
You need to check out Powderfinger. An Australian rock band. There are so many songs to chose from. The song I'd chose would be "Love your way" or "Sunsets". And "Bless my Soul" live. 👍👌🍻
Just found your channel. Great reactions. The definitive Cold Chisel song is “Khe Sahn”, but my personal favourite is “Flame Trees”.
Also, the glare from the window wasn’t a problem at all, but the shadow from your microphone was being projected directly on your face.
A Really beautiful song written by Steve Prestwich ( Drums) and Sung by Ian Moss…. Jimmy and Ian really do compliment each other vocally….. heaps more to Discover with Cold Chisel nearly 50 years worth of music + Jimmy and Ian’s solo careers …. Enjoy.🇦🇺.
Great live band, awesome!
Thank you thank you for doing this version! This and a song called "Saturday Night " are my top 2 Cold Chisel songs. Jimmy and Ian just have something special.
I don't see so much similarity between Jimmy and Steve Perry but I see a lot between Steve and John Farnham. I do think that these three are possibly the strongest male vocalists we've ever seen.
Awesome, another reactor discovering one of my favourite bands. The Chisels have been around for decades and don't have a bad song. They have so much variety too and two great lead singers. I subscribed on the basis that you are enjoying their music. The Aussies are gonna flock to your channel. You should check out Flame Trees next. The Steve Perry comparison is no doubt due to the power in both their voices.
My personal favourite and many others is Bow River. That songhardto beat . The Harmonica is sick
2am here in Australia, watching you react to an absolute classic here on my balcony, wine and weed and loving your vibe so much!
This was my youth, drank piss with these guys and smoked joints, good times.
Mate i enjoyed your presentation
Yo bloke! Love your style. This is proof that you don’t need a custom, factory moded shrecter, EVH Amp and 59 pedals to make you sound good.
Cheers Paddy
If you find Cold Chisels live version at Manly Vale of Knocking on Heavens door .... its THE best cover by anyone ever.... ever... it was filmed in 1980 right at Cold Chisel's peak
Hey Monty check out Matt Corby ‘Brother’ live version.
Also an Aussie kid named Taj Farrant who knows his way around a guitar.
Loving the reactions!!
Please see, cold chisel shipping steel
Monty,
You know the best blues are from the USA period we all follow you all .
On ya Mate .
Never heard this an an acoustic! Great !
Breakfast at sweethearts is a song you need to play
In a lot of Jimmy's song you will here Jonny diesel on the guitar he's another you would like fantastic blues sound
One of these days, someone, hopefully you, will listen to my most requested, but as of yet, never heard chisel song 'One long day '. In my humble opinion, it's one of their best from their first album and despite the lack of commercial play, is very much loved, specially if you like a bluesy tune.
Jimmy doesn't scream.
He has an ability to use his vocal cords in a way very few singers can.
It doesn't hurt his cords at all.
You want to hear some Aussie soul, try The Teskey Brothers rain and Hold me live at the forum. You won't be disappointed.
YES YES YES! 🙌🏼
1000% yes.
Great band
Awesome reaction 👍👍
He made the Hells Angels unhappy lol, nearly got fk'd up. He is alright.
American’s and Austrians have a lot in common dude. God bless
What do Austrians & Americans have in common🤔🤔 ..I know us Australians do👍😁🇦🇺
@@sandgroperwookiee65 Isn't Australia in Europe? Dont they ride Kangaroos to work and if you go there watch out for the Dropbears.
@@iankearns774 LOL! Yeah, we have lots of roos and emus running around the streets here in Western Sydney 😆
Was ist das? Österreich??? Nein….. bloody Australia, mate!!
@@Mimi-ud1mo Dont see many Roos here in Melbourne, I saw one once that had escaped from a nature reserve near Latrobe University and was trying to jump a 7 foot wire fence without much success. Lets just keep the illusion going, I ride my Kangaroo to work each day. How about you?
Great work mate
it is a current and ancestral post war lament ......
Yeah Steve Perry sound a bit like Jimmy! Guess it all depends which side if the pond you were born on and who you listened to first who sound like who 😂
Never thought anyone sounds like Jimmy Barnes.
I think Steve Perry known for some song called Oh Sherrie or something from the 80's. I not that aware of his music as not hear his name so much here. Probably only heard a couple of songs from him in 80's.
Check out live version of Tomorrow by Cold Chisel. Probably over 50 songs of theirs to check out if you right into live rock music. czcams.com/video/xZGtG7WGif4/video.html
You've never heard of the band 'Journey'?
@@sandgroperwookiee65 Heard, but do not know them. Must be band from 70's which before my time.
jimmy barnes turned down the job to replace David lee Roth in Van Halen. he had 3 very young kids at the time and wanted to raise them in australia. but it was a very very close call.
That girl's pretty, though
Hard to beat sorry
Forget the reaction, buddy, and just buy the Last Stand DVD. This sux. You want Chisel, young and angry.
100%, sadly I have it on VHS. I need to buy it on DVD so I can watch it again.
Oh, you have to react to
"you got nothing I want"
Cold Chisel, sticking it to the USA liars.
Love this song but not this version
