(as a schoolgirl) ~ "It wasn't at the time, and he's not that kind of dad", basically saying in that time period it was viewed on more innocently, and he wasn't the type to try anything improper. Addressing how it'd be looked on with suspicion these days (ridiculously, I might add).
Don't see how it's Belly, either. I don't recognize anyone besides Tanya Donnelly. This is a decent performance by her, but the song isn't the same without the bass and drums.

Tanya Donelly wrote this song when she was 18 and formed her band when she was 14. That can be called impressive!
