1st, AMAZING! 2nd, what do the pieces of colored paper, followed by the brown paper do? 3rd, how do you get the finish to look wood grained? 4th, AMAZING! Thank you, Sir for showing your gift in "carboardentry." I'm working on my very 1st piece, this stuff is addictive.
The coloured paper is newspaper and the second layer is brown wrapping paper both are to paper mache to give more strength and stability.
And if u notice @1:23 the edges are not sold. If u consider do these types of crafts. Paper mache steps are necessary for multiple reasons.

Well as i watch you building these things for the 4th time. I really have to say that you have to be a fabulous finish carpenter.. and i am amazed each time i watch the videos. I do hope that you have been able to pass your skills to other people that you have in your family. I may try this out ... if i ever get my house finished.

I faux painted for years. I wonder if he had ever tried a wood graining tool? They are so simple u would think them ineffective but they are wonderful and can make any surface look like wood .
