The way I understand his point is this. The church is the one who compiled the bible. The church and its leaders are the one who studied the manuscripts, decerned and was guided by the Holy Spirit on what manuscripts or scrolls should be organized. Remember hindi pa uso ang page numbers during that time and by the guidance of the holy spirit, our church was able to complete the books that came from the manuscripts, and from those books, chapters and verses where implemented and applied. After which, the book of the bible was compiled, thanks to the church leaders and the authority of the Church. Come to think of it, if the church did not spend hundreds of years compiling the bible, and if they only created their doctrines out of the manuscripts and the sacred traditions from the apostles and disciples, and no bible was ever compiled and created. What do you think is the basis of your religion? What is the basis of all the sects that appeared because of the self interpretation of the bible? Try to think about it.
