I really like how the 2020 one looks. Something about that matte finish look really speaks to me lol. I'm really tempted to get one.

I really think the new finish looks better, seems less cheap compared to the 2014 one.
I do like the matte finish. But the tooth catch problem is a bit of a concern

2020 version rocks! The Blue Mode short press one will be part of my fanmade Sailor Moon henshin.
After I exclaim “Moon Crystal Power, Make Up!”, I press the button and start my transformation, singing Let it Go, mimicking Elsa.
And after my transformation is complete, I would have bowling shoes on instead of boots and stretchy pants on under my uniform (the skirt is too short).
My hair would be professionally styled by a hair stylist.
My makeup and nails would be done by my mom.
Now i kinda wish i had the newer one, i love my 2015 one but the nicer crystals and the matte pearl is a lot more like the vision in my mind of what that locket would look like irl. Aaaaa.

I prefer the 2015 Proplica! I feel they put more thought into the first version. I'm excited to see another dub comparison video!!

I'm surprised! When the solicitations for the brilliant color edition of the proplicas came out, I didn't really care too much but after watching this review, I like it so much more than the first release! Oh noooo

Kicked myself for pre ordering the 2020 edition since I already own the 2015 one. However, after seeing this comparison video, I'm actually glad I did. I like the less shiny look of this new release way more.
I like brilliant color editions but uhh where is my eternal tier proplica.

for some reason the 2015 proplica photo looked like it had a pearl finish but it didn’t

Kind of disappointed they didn't use this opportunity to add the movie version of the transformation theme. They did it for the Cutie Moon Rod so why not this as well?
The more pinkish crystal bothers me a bit. But next to that I like the 2020 edition more.

Both looks very nice but the 2020 version is better also the box too.🤩🌙⭐ I like the pearl finish, the gems are brighter and the details inside are better.💖 Wish the crystal💎 was sliver instead of pink and they'll do different proplicas for sailor moon, like her last two brooches💝💛 or maybe mercury's mini labtop.💻 I don't mind, I'll watch your videos. I hate how they keep the batteries installed in the Proplica. I wish they included them like they did the vintage toys, a little section in the box T_T
I absolutely love the new finish on the newer 2020 version. Very happy with it! Not happy I had to buy another one, but hey here we are.

Yea I can tell you that no matter what when you try to synchronize anything like the proplicas they will lose sync in the middle which trips me out cause they were obviously timed correctly but just split apart in the middle which is freaky haha

Not sure if someone else brought it up, but I believe the reason stores aren't shipping them from Japan is because they have batteries. For me with AmiAmi, only EMS can do that, and since I'm in the US, no EMS for me and DHL can't do it..

Mine is stuck with AmiAmi along with another figure. It's upsetting since I could've saved more by ordering via Amazon and gotten it sooner. At least proxy services have a "boat" option so I get stuff in 2 months, but AmiAmi will keep my items until EMS resumes or they get through their backlong and decide if they want to ship my stuff by boat. They're not keen on order cancellations so yeah.. I'll probably see mine somewhere mid next year x'D
I highly recommend not ordering anything with batteries from Japan (i.e. the new Cutie Moon Rod in case it does have them) Unless it's from Anime Osaka.
Your experience is very familiar to me. I originally ordered from AmiAmi and ran into the same issue after previously selecting DHL in the preorder process. My order also included the anime-color SH Figuarts, but I’ve decided I don’t need those anymore lol. The good news is I WAS able to cancel via email support.
@@SailorTortilla I had already cancelled something from them before, and although they told me I'd be fine due to the pandemic, since it was recent enough I didn't want to risk a ban. x'D
I already paid for my order so I doubt they'll be too keen on refunding me. I also don't know if Amazon will get more stock or not and they might not even package my proplica well or something.
TL;DR: I should've cancelled sooner like you did and risked it. lol
I might end up messaging them regardless however, since the wait at this rate will be ridiculous and I'll be overpaying to boot.

Mostly the release date, the Japanese editions used to not bring english instructions but that has changed as of late.

I enjoyed your review, thank you! Minor nitpicky point - why did you orient the 2015 on the left and 2020 on the right with the boxes and opening, then switch the sequence around when the compacts were in your hands? A bit disorienting.
So sorry about that! It had to do with the lighting and the way it reflected on the 2015 version.
