Martyn. These guys are nuts !!! Is there any chance you could start interviews with some old speedway riders ? I really think you know the sport and would be a excellent video
Wow, that was pure luck that nobody was hurt or worse in that smash. That is one of the worst iv'e seen. I have been a regular at ice racing meetings since 1986 and it is without doubt one of, if not the most dangerous motorcycle sports ever invented. It has to be seen "live" to get the full impact of the speed and skill these riders have. Video just doesn't do it justice. But what I have noticed is almost every time I read comments about ice racing the spikes have got longer! Apparently they are now 4 inches long! I have just measured a spike which I picked up on a trip to Assen one year and they are actually 30mm or 1 1/4 inches long. Even so I wouldn't want to be run over by one let alone a wheel full of them! Keep the videos coming Martyn I really enjoy them.
the guy in yellow did magnificently to lay his bike down,, full kudos to the ice racers,, balls of steel that lot
Amazing lean angle first of all. Wow. The rider that dumped the bike to save the man in red is really a good sport.
Racing on ice with knife blades on your tires? That's a good idea.
man that was exiting to watch, the racing was great
That boy went into the hay bale, instead of the rider.
Just superb riding by both riders to avoid an horrendous crash.

Not my scene really, there's a lot of people who do and are very good at it.

Old memories from Assen
I remember being in Aachen.Bloody hell it was cold even with thick boots and three pairs of socks and Bruce Cribb was racing

@@martynhepworthArchiveSpeedway That's still 20mm longer than they actually are Martyn! 😂
I'd like to see some of the scars these ice gods have.
Hard men, respect
