@@todds.6028 You are correct when you say that God’s standards are impossible. Jesus says this Himself in the Gospel of Matthew when speaking about how a rich man can enter the kingdom of heaven: “But Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’ “
      ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭19:26‬
This pastor isn’t preaching that living a moral life can save you. What he is preaching is the biblical Gospel, which says that all of mankind has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) There is nothing we can do to save ourselves. However, because God is rich in mercy He sent His only Son, the Lord Jesus, to live the perfect sinless life we were meant to live, but didn’t. Jesus died a death on the cross that was meant for all of us because of our sins. Jesus bore the punishment for our sins that was reserved for us. The good news is that when anyone turns from their sin (repentance) and places their faith in Jesus, God will forgive their sins and grant them eternal life. A person who has truly been born again (John 3:3) will experience a radical transformation. Their life will no longer look like the lives of those that are dead in their sins, but rather the Holy Spirit will produce fruit through them (Galatians 5:22-23) and they will crucify fleshly desires (v. 24). Sadly, today many claim the name of Christ and profess to know Him, but deny Him by their works (Titus 1:16). This is why this pastor preached this type of message to this group. I pray that you would experience God’s grace and mercy through the anxiety and depression that you have been battling, and that it would drive you closer to the Lord Jesus🙏🏼 Please consider reading Romans 5:1-11.
BTW, here is the back story on this sermon:

This sermon was what made me a believer in 2009. I had been raised in a Christian home thinking I was a Christian just because I had prayed a prayer a long time ago when I was a child, went to church, and read the Bible. I didn't realize I didn't have a relationship with Jesus. I still had hate in my heart for people, I did sinful things without caring about the consequences, and my heart was horrible. After watching this, I felt conviction and realized I didn't have a relationship with God, and I turned to Jesus afterwards in faith and repentance. I have been different ever since. A completely new person. The Bible is true when it says we must be "born again."

A relationship with God won't save you. You must be BORN AGAIN
you must he his child by FAITH in Jesus christ. Serving God doesn't save you. Being good and trying to stop your sins won't save you. TRUSTING IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS TO TAKE YOUR SINS AWAY IS WHAT SAVES YOU
      8. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
      9. Not of works, lest any man should boast.
      (Ephesians, 2)
      5. Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
      6. Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
      7. That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
      (Titus, 3)
      6. And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
      (Romans, 11)
If you look to anything in your life to justify being saved, besides Jesus, your not saved.
Jesus alone is the only way to heaven. Not Jesus plus works. You can't help him save you..
Praying a prayer doesn't save you, but if you reached out to God and accepted the death, burial, and resurection of Jesus as payment for your sins than he did save you. It's a gift. Simple receive it :)

When jesus is the only God you serve, then and only then is when the reality of God in your life is known, he will know you and you will know him, and there can be no possibility of your walk with god being like empty religion but instead will be an experience led by his spirit, as he dwells within you and you will be full of life! This doesn't mean god promises you will always feel good but that your life will represent love In it's entirety. God is love. And you will represent him. Even when you fall, you will get back up and keep moving, you will move in his will. As the holy spirit guides your steps. You will hold onto him, you will be blessed, he will lift you up and then you will lift up others. You will be a light to the world. "Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all things will be added to you", "delight in the lord and he will give you all the desires of your heart". Be humble. Put his will first in your life, not for blessings but because it's simply the right thing to do and otherwise would bring his death for you, to shame. Do it because it's in his nature, that he was and still is willing to give you everything therefore give him everything. Be humble and take accountability. "Those who exalt themselves will be humbled a f those who humble themselves will be exalted", God lifts the humble up higher than anyone else. Walk in the will he has for you in your life whatever that may be, let it be approved by him first. Choose to walk the path going up. Let him start the growth in you and he will finish it!

You don't get saved by repenting and turning from sin. Repent is the word for Greek, metanoia, it means change your mind. Repent (change your mind) and BELIEVE the gospel. Thats it.
      8. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
      9. Not of works, lest any man should boast.

      7. That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
      8. This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
      (Titus, 3)
      6. And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
      (Romans, 11)
This guy is a liar and he changes the gospel. If you haven't ceased from trusting in your own works and trusted COMPLETELY in Jesus and what he did on the cross to pay for your sins, than you never got born again. Stopping your sins can't save you. You can't stop all your sins. Its impossible.
Imagine telling a dog to stop acting like a dog. It can't.
We are sinners. We can't stop sinning.
You can make yourself look perfect around other people, but the sin of the mind is still there, lust, anger, bitterness, hatred, envy, white lies, ect. You can never get rid of them all. It's your nature. One sin makes you guilty of all. And Jesus paid it all. You believe him and he saves you. That's it. Anything more is heresy.
You can choose to serve God or not, but as long as you trust him as savior than he still saves you.
      14. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
      15. That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
      16. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
      17. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
      18. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
      19. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
      20. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

@Tony Shumway you must look at the Greek word that is translated as repentance...
Your misunderstand ezekiel. Ezekiel is talking about your physical life. In the nation of Israel they are wicked and God was judging them. But if they turn from there wickedness he would spare them.
Repent is English for the Greek word METANOIA it means to change your mind.
Otherwise God repented of his sins
      6. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
      (Genesis, 6)
      11. And Moses besought the LORD his God, and said, LORD, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?
      12. Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people.
      (Exodus, 32)
      14. And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.
      (Exodus, 32)
Clearly it means change of mind....
Also, read gospel of john..John... not ONE time does Jesus say to repent. Only believe
      (John, 3)
Only believe. When you believe you repent and change your mind...
Turning from your sins is impossible, and its a WORK
      8. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
      9. Not of works, lest any man should boast.
      10. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

      6. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
      7. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
      8. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

      How To Go To Heaven
According to the holy Word of God in the King James Bible!
It is very simple to be saved and takes only a minute to explain. Please let me show you how to get to Heaven from the Bible, God's Word...
Man is a Sinner in the Eyes of a Holy God.
Isaiah 53:6, “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”Romans 3:19, “Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.”John 3:3, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”Romans 3:10, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.”Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
There is a Price For Our Sin―Burning in Hell Forever.
Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”Romans 5:12, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.”2nd Thessalonians 1:8, “In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.”Revelation 20:15, "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”Revelation 21:8, “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
Jesus paid that price by dying on the cross and shedding His blood; Christ was buried and bodily rose again the third day!

I don’t know how your life has gone (hopefully for the better), but I listened to this too and as much as I want to say I’m a Christian, there isn’t enough current evidence to say I am (only past experience would’ve pointed towards, but like he said it can’t be “yeah I repented” and it has to be continual).
If you’re a Christian, can you pray that God would really take hold of my life. That he would make himself real to me, that I would have no choice but to choose Him. Thank you

After 15 years, of thinking I was a Christian…. Then God saved me by His works and rose me from the dead as a new creature in Christ. Months later, I started feeling that I was never saved until then. I questioned and questioned, read and read the Word of God for about a year, then I concluded I was never saved until recently although Others were telling me that I was saved many years ago…. Then this sermon popped up. Praise God for affirming that He saved me recently. 4 years later, the Lord has faithfully continued to work a miracle in me and turned the most depraved and wicked man into a new creation that loves the Lord and walks in loving obedience by being in the Vine in John chapter 15. All my loving obedience is by the Works of God in my sanctification.
    Love must be in truth!

Its been almost 4 years since I was saved after listening to this message. I was raised in easy-believism and easy-prayerism and all of my ideas about salvation were totally devoid of repentance. Everyone around me (including my family) was just like I was, completely worldly and wicked, while still attending church etc.. Comparing yourself with God's Word really is the key folks. The Scriptures obliterated all of my self-righteousness. I am a police officer and I was saved while sitting alone in my patrol car after considering these Scriptures. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING has been the same since that night. The first thing that popped into my head after I repented and placed my faith in Christ was 'go home and tell your wife about your porn use.' I walked away from all of that filth (and many other sins) cold turkey. For the very first time I had a choice about sin. God led me (and my family) to a sound Baptist church where we are serving faithfully. I started preaching about a year ago, and now I lead teams door to door in our community. People have been saved through our church ministry. Best of all, now I get to use what I know about false Christianity to deal with people that are just like I used to be. Paul, I don't know if you see these comments, but I just wanted to say thanks for being brave. The power was in the Scripture that you shared but it took courage to share it. I know it's not easy, my entire family rejected me after I got saved. It's ok, I wouldn't trade knowing Christ for anything. I'm not alone anymore. To anyone else that might watch this, take what he says deadly serious. It could be the difference between life and death for you!

Repentance means CHANGE OF MIND.. the Greek word is Metanoia. It means change your mind. Go from unbelif to believe. Notice the gospel of John, God's gospel tract, doesn't use repent one time. It only says repeated believe to be saved.
Easy believism IS the Gospel. Eternal security IS the Gospel
Once saved always saved is the Gospel.
If you don't believe that you don't understand the gospel. How you live has nothing to do with where you go.
      5. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
      (Romans, 4)
Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”1st Timothy 1:15, “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.”1st Peter 1:18-19, “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ...”1st Corinthians 15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. I threw away all I had into the garbage can outside, and threw bags of trash on top of them. I knew I wouldn't be smoking them anymore. That was July 22, 2010, and I've not smoked since that day. God did that, not me. My life's been in a state of repentance and change since that day. So many wicked things and evils have been removed from my life. He did it, for His purposes. I have never heard of Paul Washer before and today is my 1st time listening to his sermon.
All I can say is: "THANK YOU PAUL FOR POINTING ME TO JESUS, AND NOT TO YOU!!!!"
In the past years, I idolized megachurches and small churches pastors, Christian youth leaders, feel-good emotional sermon givers, other Christians who knew so much more about the Gospel than me and eloquently spoke about the doctrines.
I'm a Christian for 2 years now, and I've always looked up to them......but fatally, not to Jesus. Today, I wept after listening to your message. I wept at how many times I lied, dishonored my parents, consumed by greed and comfort of the world. I wept not out of pure lighting strike emotions that last for a day, but because I recognized that I have been walking around like a saved superior person. I was prideful and haughty, when I should be on my knees and examine my sins.
If you can ready this message, I really want to say thank you for not putting the limelight toward yourself, but to the only one who deserves it - our Lord Jesus.

I prayed the sinner prayer in 2002 at a pentecostal church and I was told that I was saved, no one thought me that I needed to place my faith in the finish work of the cross because Jesus died for my sin. No one mentioned to me that I needed to repent from my worldly ways. I was saved and that was the end. I use to look up to Kennith Copeland and all of the others like him. Till one day I watched this video in another channel I think her name is Doreen Virtue or something like that. Right after I heard this preaching by Paul Washer, I got down on my knees and wept like I never wept before and repented. I sent this message to some of my co workers who were playing the fence between the world and God and God used this message to youth, to change their life. Bro. Paul, this message was something we all should take to heart. American Christianity has missed it by a mile. We have painted a weak Saviour, a weak God who isn't concerned with holiness. Thank you for being faithful to God's word reguardless of feelings. God Bless!

LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, let You be seen in my life. Change me. Let me reflect You in everything I do, Amen. Thank you, Paul, thank you Heart Cry Ministeries!!

After hearing this I had a "second conversion" and came to understand the importance of holiness. After my conversion I was basically a legalist, knowing what to do and what not to do but I did not grasp the reality of holiness.
A few weeks after hearing this wonderful sermon I joined a biblical Reformed Baptist church and started my fight for holiness.
Brother Paul has been a blessing to my life and to many others I know.
It takes courage in the western world to fight the perversions and distortions of the true gospel of our risen Lord and God Jesus Christ!

  • @LetYourLightShineBeforeMen

Thank You Brother Paul, it was around 2007 when I first heard about you and this was the first message. I heard that I was so blessed as a young believer. I wanted to grow in Christ to know more about Christ, as I listen to this message over and over again, little did I know that in 2014 the Lord would lead me to Pastor a small Church, even to this day, I listen to it again, and again it is such an encouragement to me to press on, and to preach the word, and nothing but the word,
It’s Jesus Christ, who cleanse my HEART, God bless you brother

Brother Paul I’m so greatful for your ministry. I have cataracts so reading for 15 min I can read and then my eyes go blurry. So I listen to each of your sermons at least 3 times each and write down every scripture so I can look them up. I’ve been doing this for three years and now have a real relationship with my Father. I’m not what I once was. I have a hope and so much I I have no words to speak it out in a little comment section.. I’ve ordered a large print study bible. I have a regular study bible with regular print and have got buy with it. It’s the most valuable thing in my home. If I was broken into I’m not attached to anything in my home and I know my Bible would be left behind. I love that. I love you too like you tell us you love us. Bless you Brother Paul. 🙏🏻😘

Amen brother!!! I was raised in church.... I did all the things you are supposed to do, but there was zero fruit in my life, I always felt uncomfortable with my sin and felt guilty about it, but until a month n a half ago my life was the same as the world...... I listened to a pastor give a message about going into churches to witness to them??? I was blown away he was witnessing in Churches I got on my knees and I looked at myself and I was scared of the holy God that I had been ignoring my entire life. I repented of my sin and I go before him daily and repent of my sin....... I praise God he opened my eyes. I am daily in the word, I am actively seeking out his commands for me. I am learning to be a Godly husband, father, and family leader.... I am fearful of the responsibility I have for my family and I pray before a holy God that I will do what brings his name Glory and honor.

Listened to this in March of 2017. During the sermon my heart opened up with so much joy. I never heard the gospel until then and I trace my conversion back to that moment. Jesus is Lord and He saved me. I never liked Scripture, Church, or prayer, going down the route of despair as a PK. After this sermon, I began to read Scripture and to this day I haven’t gone back to my previous ways. By God’s grace, I preach, have a desire the office of Pastor, learning 1689 confessionalism and hope to plant a Church in my hometown.
