This is the song that first perked my ears up to Halestorm, so seeing anyone else enjoy it is always that little bit extra special to me.
    Rock On Dude.
May I highly suggest...checking out "Uncomfortable" or "Black Vultures" from their newer album?

Love Halestorm, like be your reaction & comments about the structure of a song, your right I’ve studied music all my life( 66 years) I know within the first notes of a live band if I’m going to enjoy their arrangement of a bunch of notes because you cant beat or deny them talent. So your right as rain! Big fan of Lizzy Hale & Halestorm Lizzy is the major writer of the music for Halestorm, Check out, Apocalyptic, I Miss The Misery, Rock Show, I like it Heavy, Freak Like Me there are a lot huge catalog enjoy your journey with Halestorm!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

I get it, sometimes I can sing along to a song without ever hearing it before. If you want to be surprised in music, try some symphonic metal like Nightwish “ Ghost love score” live from Wacken”. Enjoy.

Yes the chord progression is a rock standard variations matter as you said but its gritty and raw which is fantastic

With having 13 years of Vocal training, I'm a Mezzo Soprano, I agree with your reaction. I am a great fan of Lzzy Hale. She has done collaborations with MANY Artists reaching into Country even. I love the remake she and David Draiman (Disturbed) did of Ozzy Osborne and Lita Fords song "Close My Eyes Forever"!! If you watch how Lzzy uses her mouth shapes to reflect the tone of the song, for example in the video "I Miss the Misery" to get that snarl in her voice she sings through clenched teeth. It's also interesting how she will plant her right foot ahead of her her left when she wants to really belt it out. I was taught that helps open up your entire body to reach down and pull that energy up. I did that a lot even though I have a very powerful voice it helped me during Solo's. Plus our Coach wanted that strong belt out of the Soprano's. Another thing she does which we were taught was not ending her words on a sharp vowel or long ES sound, it helps cut the sharpness at the end of the word. Lzzy and Arjay Hale started as a garage band when she was 13. The rest is Rock/Metal Music HISTORY!!

Yes sir you are correct on the the way you can predicte wear a song is going to go in it's chord progression an if it does go another way you know that way soon as it hits the first bar I started playing guitar when I was 11yrs old every one in my family plays some musical instrument so I've always been around music rock county blue grass my father was a session guitarest been on many county albums I've always been into rock but I can play anything was in my first band when I was 15yrs old I'll be 59 this year went to college for music so I've been in bands for 44yrs never not been in a band sometimes as many as 3 at a time if you can read an write music it comes pretty naturally you just practice to get tight with each other and I take issue with anyone calling you a liar you seem pretty straight up to me your one of my favorite reactionest an that's because you know music an appeciate all types you we're the only one who reacted to home frees man of constant sarow who even notice how low tim dropped after he sang the 3rd chorus no body else said anything about it in there reactions I noticed the first time I heard it as you did plus you just seem like a really good dude so screw those deusbags that say you already listened to the song I'm shure if you had you would of said that up front Rock On My Brother 🎶🎵🤟

I know you reacted to I Miss the Misery. But the albums don't do her or the band justice.
If you just listened to the albums you
Won't get it. Check out Lzzy's encore performance of I miss The Misery Live in concert and check out that crazy drummer.

What you say is mostly true, however the one distinction I would make is there remains substantial nuance in Melody. That's what really in my mind distinguishes one song from another because you can have a hundred songs in the progression one four five but it's the overlaid melody which you know with pop songs and stuff like that is generally the singer, that will distinguish that song from another that's why a lot of these lawsuits are crap because they're using something they're assuming over something that is so generally used and known that it can't really be someone's copyrighted material versus however a melody for example like the string portion of bittersweet symphony by The verve that was clearly unique and clearly belong to the stones period so long-winded way of saying I agree with you mostly however I would say that one might be hard-pressed to say where the next Melody note is coming having never heard a song

Watch “back from the dead” from Halestorm! You are wrong about them. Just saying!
