Checking out the band version of @officialSB19 hit MAPA feat. @benandbenmusic. Just a heads up. I really love both of these artists. They are both insanely talented and write great songs. My views expressed here are just my personal opinions/taste, and in no way do I think that they are "the truth", they are just my truth. Hope you enjoy the video.

SB19 MAPA live performance at sonik philippines was very special as will as recently at 2021 round festival. Live performance is much better than studio version.

I understand your.point of not liking the version..However, i think the original version with just the boys of sb19 gives you the soul feels and the deep emotion connected to the song. Meanwhile with this band version, it's a celebratory beats to honor the protagonists of the song which are our parents. This made us feel that we should celebrate their greatness while the original one is to give tribute in a solemn way to pour out our feelings to them.
He likes this version but he likes the studio version better…
I like this band version, it’s very well performed, and a great song as always, but the studio version definitely hits me harder emotionally and I prefer it.

In the original version it was the same guy who sang the first verse, it was Justin the 2nd guy who sang here in the band version. This MV was recorded or rather filmed at the newly restored Manila Metropolitan Theatre. The guy with the blonde hair is SB19’s leader Pablo and he is the composer of all their songs. I agree with you, the original version is more heartfelt. I would like for you to react to their latest live performance at the Round Festival. They performed 5 songs there. Hope you find the full performance version.

Band Version literally brought me to church. Its like a celebration as we give thanks to the parents but I agree, I also prefer the Original Version. It’s simple and directly hits the heart.
Sir you should definitely react to SB19’s Live performance of Mapa in ASEAN Korean Round Festival. That is their recent and best live performance of Mapa. It even sound better than the studio version LOL. And for you to also know the members and who sing which part.

Hello David. There were several performances of MAPA by SB19 in which the arrangement is closer to the studio version. I suggest the one performed on the ROUND 2021 Festival.

I agree with you! I also prefer the original/studio version than the band version. Both versions have beauty of their own but I guess it just boils down to preference. I always look forward to your RV on SB19 and I'm glad to hear your insights about their song and performance. All the best!

I also prefer the studio version. SB19 and Ben&Ben did a great job but the original version really hits different. Regardless, I still love both groups. Thanks for reacting to the band version. SB19 Leader, PABLO, "MAPA"s Composer, Writer, Producer, in their 1st Collaborative Work with BEN&BEN Permitted BEN&BEN to Do their Band's Own Arrangement of this "MAPA" BAND Version. Yes, I agree with your Choosing SB19's Original Arrangement of "MAPA". The 2 Bands wanted to do their 1st Collaborative Work and this is HOW this "celebratory" sounding of "MAPA" came to be. SB19's Original "MAPA" is TOPS!!!

Don't worry David, I appreciate your honesty! And besides, music is mostly subjective, it can be perceived differently by different people. The most important thing is, you stated your opinion with respect to both artists who performed this piece.
For me, I can't quite pick which is better, I guess I like both of them equally. With the vibes of these two versions, I'd say the original MAPA is more emotional, a promise of a child to their parents to be fulfilled in the future.
The MAPA Band version is more celebratory, akin to achieving the goal and finally fulfilling and turning into reality the child's promise.

I agree, the Band version reduced the true essence of the song, this version is a somewhat has a rejoicing or celebratory vibe. Which sshould supposed to be an acknowledgment for the hardships of parenting, and the child wanted to give them rest in return, and takeover the reins as you ride on through their life’s journey.

1:31 you're actually right there's just one guy who sang that part and it's justin (the second to sing) but they had to rearrange some of the parts of the song to give the guest singers in this performance their own part to sing.
Honestly, I had the same reaction as you during my first listen of the Band Version. I love the Original Version of MAPA and no matter how many times I listen to it, it doesn't change the way I feel about the song. But after listening to the Band Version again and again, I begin have a new appreciation for it -- it's more fun and joyful than heartfelt and emotional. Now, I listen to both versions depending on my mood.and I'm glad I have two versions that I can listen to in honour of all of our parents' unconditional love and sacrifces. Still, I love the Original Version more!

For A'Tin who have been here the whole time, the impact of the collab is the fact that SB19 has always dreamt of working with Ben&Ben. This collab is a dream come true for them and that's what makes it extra amazing.

Its true David.. both are different. The studio one has a soul, intense and emotion.
Tnx for reacting. The band version gives a feeling of celebration with the whole family (nagffiesta buong pamilya kase sweldo ni ate at kuya na magttreat kay mama at papa at buing fam). The studio version is more on the serious note (newly hired s job si ate at kuya, ipon muna para mtreat sina mama at papa). Same song, different version but both gives a feeling that a Filipino family can all relate to.

It was the same singer all the way through, you were right, because that was in the original version. For this one though, because it is a collaboration parts were distributed differently for Ben and Ben and for the boys as well. Thank you for reacting. Keep it coming!!

Same. I might have been very fixated eith the original version so it took time for me to appreciate the flavor of the band version.

I also like the original version (the one ur calling studio version) more. Although i appreciate the arrangement of the band version. As far as I know. The band version is arrange differently. this band version is collab of ben & ben and SB19, which is more of Ben and ben’s style. Thats why you notice that the singer in the first part was not them before. Anyway. I appreciate your honesty on reacting. :)

Try Leaves by Ben&Ben or some of their other English tracks (Maybe the Night, Ride Home, etc.) Or maybe Araw-araw or Upuan. They just produce so many instant classics/hits and I'm pretty sure Filipinos will agree

Hi! I actually have the same thoughts. The first time I heard the band version (after listening to the studio version endlessly), I had the same reaction. Cause what made me love MAPA in its original form is not only the lyrics and melody but the overall feel it gave me, the progression of the production, it just gets you. or maybe because we listened to the studio version multiple times and were used to it that when we first hear this band version, it gives off a different feeling. But this band version grew on me when I listened to it again. I still prefer the orig/studio version though.
