Something I realized about Elbaf is that not only is it Fable backwards, but it's Elba with an additional F. Now if you've never heard of Elba, it's the place where Napoleon was exiled to. Now also remember that Big Mom grew up on this island. What is the name of Big Mom's hat sword again? Napoleon. Oda you genius!
1:57 If you set Mjolnir on a plane that's slanted, it will fall down. Gravity works upon it, the same way that an average table can carry Mjolnir and if you flip the table over, Mjolnir will fall. It's only if the unworthy person tried to lift the hammer that it becomes unliftable. Also, the actual weight of Mjolnir is only 40lbs, so it's relatively light to wield if you're worthy.
said it before and I'll say it again: the void century was just a couple of generations ago for them, why is no-one ever bringing up the fact that they might know something about it
I am assuming the Giants kept to themselves. One of the few things we know about the Void Century is that the twenty kingdoms which would form the World Government (supposedly) defeated an Ancient Kingdom that had all the power. The giants may have kept their heads down and not bothered to learn the details.
There probably are ppl on Elbaf that know something, I'm assuming it isn't going to be common knowledge amongst all of the Elbaf population or the info def would have made it out. I imagine this is partially why Oda saved Elbaf for so late in the story
Someone might... but just because they lived that long ago doesn't mean they remember everything. Dorry and Broggy forgot the reason for their duel! And that was just 100 years ago haha. It's got to be tough to see things like giants do. Heck, to them, the void century might not have been a big deal. It was just another century, after all. They live through like 3 in a lifetime.
I assume they are protecting one of the last historical Poneglyphs or maybe the last road Poneglyph or an ancient weapon which was hidden by the previous generations. Also with everything being huge and crazy around/on the island people probably docked and left as fast as possible or died. I've read a lot of theories and it's obvious this island will have some importance we just need to wait for Oda to reveal it. I liked the theory of a Poneglyph being here and another in the desert next to Alabasta and that not just the Road Poneglyphs but all 30 are needed to understand the directions to Laugh Tale. We are at 20 or so found now which would explain why backtracking to a few places including the related Little Garden could happen reuniting the SH Crew with people (aka the grand fleet, Vivi, among others) before the endgame battle takes place. Another thing is Elba-f (Elba) was the island where Napoleon Bonaparte was exiled. I know Big Mom's sword was named this but it could be a double meaning that someone was exiled to be kept there under the Giants' watch by the Govt aka the Lurking Legend as the Giants are supposed to have the greatest army power in the world Just a couple of the million ideas out there, Oda uses so many parallels to history and mythical stories that it's hard to pin down which one he is focusing on when mentioning places/people until the Arc is occuring.
Oh god is that why we still havent seen it? Just imagine if the twist with it would be that it was just a fable. Something that we would hear about but never experience.

Depends on the writer. Mjolnir is sometimes really heavy like the weight of 10 suns, but that doesn’t make sense at all. Or it’s enchanted and only the worthy can lift it which makes more sense
Ten times what sun? A neutron star is trillions upon trillions of tonnes. It makes sense it's enchanted to be unable to be lifted by the unworthy. A trillion tonnes on earth would destroy the planet.

He could warn Luffy that Blackbeard is now becoming dangerous and then there will be a training fight. Possibly. Mihawk could also appear. Honestly, I suspect, given the connection between Shanks and Elbaf, that the Blackbeard stuff may kick off in Elbaf, with it starting properly at the end of Wano. If this happens, then quite possibly, Shanks may be an active character in Elbaf.
I feel like Elbaf may be the biggest arc when it comes to finding out what the void century may be. Since 300 years is the average lifespan, and it was only 800 years. I'm pretty sure when mjolnir isn't being held it just has the regular weight of an object that size. If you were to set it down at a slanted angled it would be affected by gravity the same way anything else is and likely fall. So short answer is yes, mjolnir would fall
I wonder how fluent Oda's English is. There are fluent English speakers who never realized that Elbaf is "Fable" backwards. There a ton of Clever uses of English in One Piece so I gotta wonder.
I wonder if Oda is ever going to offer an explanation for non-giant characters who end up being much taller than average humans. Like take Shanks for example, is he part giant or just exceptionally tall for a human? Same goes for the admirals. And how come characters past puberty seem to be able to gain so much size? Shanks was average in Chapter 1 but he's like 10ft tall now lol, same for Mihawk.
He does have a point tho, Aokiji is like 11 ft tall, and whitebeard was like 20 ft, also how does the gravity work in that universe cuz that would play a significant role in height
shanks, mihak? they are just compressed muscles. Now the gorgon sisters on the other hand is what i would call half giant or similar people like that, Gecko Moria and Donquixote Doflamingo also comes to mind why are they not just tall but seriously tall
@@DieserOli2127 True, these 2 weren't the best examples (although Shanks doesn't look to be 6ft6 at the start of the series but tough to gauge; Mihawk does look much taller than Zoro's 5ft11 stature during their fight though)

I think the current Mjolnir canon is that it is enchanted with a sentient space storm of extreme power. It’s enchant is that it is going to increase its weight infinitely when someone the hammer deems unworthy tries to lift it. There are, however, ways to get around this. One is the hammer in space. Weight means nothing so anyone can use it, although the current Thor can still call it to him. Another way is to just have Thor lift up the hammer or just hold the handle and then someone like the Hulk just holds Thor’s hand. I think there have instances where Magneto has used his power to pick up the hammer, but I am unsure if this remains true due to how messed up marvel canon is. I honestly don’t have any idea about the angles and what not. I can recall reading a comic where his hammer sliding was a main topic.
Thor's hammer increases in weight as someone tries to pick it up. The harder someone tries the heavier it becomes. Prime example is when the hulk tried to pick it up and he started to break the floor of an aircraft carrier
2:00 Captain America and Iron man were trying to figure this sort of thing out in one of the movies 🤣 I think the conclusion is that inanimate objects are worthy; so Barry can wield Mjolnir.
what if Ussop gets/uses Mjölnir, it's a weapon you have to be deemed worthy to wield after all. I could see Ussop loading it into his slingshot and it coming back to him.
To answer your small question about Mjølnir, it’s something akin to weightless (not exactly our textbook definition of weightlessness) until it’s in the hands of a worthy person and that’s how it can be placed on a shelf, elevator or coffee table without breaking the shelf or table or stopping it from moving. With that said, gravity does affect it, however, a situation in which it could be moved by gravity is rare to encounter.
I'm curious about Wadatsume. Is he considered a giant? I know that he is a fishmen but wouldn't he also be considered a giant as well because he easily fits the bill ”above 12 meters” an order to be a giant. I really don't see a reason why he wouldn't be considered a giant. Couldn't he be a half giant half fishmen? I'm really curious. Please somebody answer this question!!!
@@PibbDFanta yeah I believe he is half giant and half fishman I always get him confused with the giant on bb crew who ate the fruit that let's him grow lol
To answer your question, as a 616 Marvel fan, Mjolnir isn't heavy based on physical weight but rather its enchantment. Ergo, it is subject to the laws of physics wherever you place it. Essentially, it will behave like any object of congruent density sans the enchantment. Hope that clears it up.
Tekking, it'd be cool if you could make a non-spoilery One Piece introduction/hype video for fantasy readers 😊 I think that many fantasy readers would enjoy One Piece but are quite daunted by its length (which is kinda silly considering that many of the same readers read and reread series like Wheel of Time, Malazan, etc)
I wonder if Elbaf will have a giant landscape? Like literal giant mountains, trees, grass, rocks, bugs and animals so that everything is to scale that be amazing!
I thought those shadows were created by skypeans from the clouds wich amplifies the shadow on the ground since they are so high up. They showed or in on of the last episodes of Skypea
I was watching Vicky the Viking recently and I noticed a fun detail , the last few seconds of the ending theme of Vicky is used as the begining of the title opening to Strong World, soundtrack no.34 I believe its called...
4:10 Maybe that helped One Piece stay relevant cause that message is now more important than it was in the 90's. With the internet the world feels tiny so it's easy to forget just how big it is.
Perhaps after the series is done, Oda could be persuaded to make an official One Piece Roleplaying Game. I spent a lot of time in the Play-by-Post Forum Roleplaying community in my earlier years. A number of them have come up with a number of different systems for accounting for the One Piece world’s mechanics, but getting Oda to make an official one would be nice. There’s even precedent for it. CD Project Red made an official Witcher Roleplaying game after they finished making the Witcher games, so maybe Oda would be willing to do the same.
Nice video, hope we get to see Elbaf soon, sad as it makes me, it's about time Usopp had a focus arc (he shares the Water 7 arc with Robin and Franky) and this'd be a perfect one for him to catch some character development. If Oda decides to do research in Scandinavia in preparation, we'll welcome him with open arms. Beer and mead and plenty of museums (and food). As you're a fan of norse mythology Tekking, I assume you'll want to know more about the in depth of the mindsets and different gods that the norse worshipped (which has been analysed and discussed by historians in the extreme), rather than retellings of the old myths (no matter how good they are, they miss out on so much of the myths and social implications of the time that it's mindboggling). I suggest reading John Lindow: "Norse mythology, A guide to the gods, heroes, rituals and beliefs" (even if there's several things missing from it to be sure, for one most references to the Saga of the Volsungs are omitted, so are any mention of Hrolf Kraki's saga) it provides a lot of information which is easily found and understood. Henry Adams Bellows' "The poetic edda" is a good translation of the old poems which can be recommended, though some of his conclusions can be contested. Steer clear of Cotterells' encyclopedias, they're simplified guides to mythology (several glaring flaws that pander to public understanding rather than real conclusions), not proper academic work. Sorry if this book list comes off as pretentious
In the first Thor movie, Odin puts a spell on Mjolnir that basically says "no one can hold this unless they're worthy" while banishing Thor from Asgard so Thor can only hold it when he's matured
To answer the Mojlnir Question. It might be both. Yes it is magically enchanted to not be lifted but at the same time, It is made from the core of a star( or a whole star depending on wordage). most time when it’s on the ground it’s usually after falling, but if we you take the MCU route it won’t fall when it’s not placed on something flat (the being Loki’s chest)
actually. the reason there were Giants in the navy was due to mother Carmel. it was pretty much stated in the manga. but i suspect that since Navy gets to battle many powerful pirates, the Giants may also just see that as a good chance to fight strong foes.
By Loki Oda could be referring to another Loki from Norse Myth Unfurth-Loki infamous for presenting both Thor and Loki with trials wrapped in illusions. He had Loki challenge a deceptively thin man to an eating contest. He had Thor drink a flask, pick up a cat and wrestle a nurse maid. The two of them lost every challenge giving Unfurth-Loki and his court a good laugh as Thor and Loki left the meadhall, to have their host reveal the true nature of their challenges after they stepped out the door before revealing they were now days away from where their guest was.
2018 is long time fans? thanks tekking your energy level makes me feel better about mine. Mjolnir is always heavy. If you prove worthy it gives you the strength to lift it.
For the hammer : it will stay in place when it's put on a surface. Like : if you put the hammer on the floor on a plane, the plane will not fall to the ground even though the hammer "should stay immobile". It's only when there is a willing to move it that it wont move. You could let it on a think piece of wood and the wood wouldn't crack.
I like the idea that the big big fruit would let you grow up to 10 times because it seems to fit the mini mini fruit which allowed her to shrink to a human size or slightly taller at 1.4 to 1.8 meters, so she probably can shrink up 10 times her size making her between 14 and 18 meters tall
Mjölnir is enchanted so that it cannot be lifted by those unworthy, but it is not necessarily heavy. The metal weighs, so it will slide down an inclined plane, but it won't ruin a sturdy table if you place it on one.
I want to see Dory and Broggy's fight end, but only because their weapons and armor broke, so they just decided to stop go back to Elbaf get new Supplies and then start fighting again every day, but on Elbaf instead
Mjolnir is made of enchanted Uru forged in the heart of a dying star. It's heavy, but it's the enchantment that makes it impossible for anyone who is considered unworthy to lift

So short answer is yes, mjolnir would fall
The power scaling of Giants has been weird throughout
am i the only one or does tekking talk to oda as if there friends. like they've been hanging out since back in the day.
We need to remember that Tekking is just talking to a camera.
He also talks to a brick so... Yeah
So close to 500k man so proud to see you grow from your first bleach reviews
I wonder how fluent Oda's English is. There are fluent English speakers who never realized that Elbaf is "Fable" backwards. There a ton of Clever uses of English in One Piece so I gotta wonder.
Tekking i just want you to know that how enthusiastic your videos are made me watch one piece big flex my guy
I maybe late to the party here, but I just realized elbaf backwards is fable.
That just blown my mind!
Shanks is just 199cm and Mihawk is 198cm.
Yeah, but there huge characters who are just humans
Tekking: Giants are on Avg 12 Meters
Everyone in the U.S. : How Many deer is that?
Wow, storm king's thunder in the background, awesome.
Please talk about the dragons and dragon species of One Piece from grandpa ryu to all the way to up to dragon devil fruit users please
Yes he was filler way back before the grandline.
Until now we dont saw any dragons in one piece. Only the robo Dragon from vegapunk. So why talk about them.
Always have to watch tekking101, no matter the vid, keep up the great vids matt
I just clocked on..... Barry is a Brick-en
HE IS FROM SKY ISLAND
HE IS ONE OF THE THREE RACES BIG MOM'S MISSING
Seeing Storm King's Thunder there in the background as a Giant reference, huh? That's cheeky but not as cheeky as the amount of times you missed a rule in the first and second episodes of the One Piece DnD game, shirorororororororrororororo!
i would realy like a scene with hjuridin and the two fighting giants,
just a (filler) episode or something, them all sitting around and just talk about old storys
and maybe when they all sit toghter hjuridin gets a snail call that says "the strawheads are on elbaf and there will be war with the world goverment"
when the old giants hear that they will go back to help elbaf and during the war both of them die HEROIC in a fight
Tekking: Did you ever read 'Attack on Titan'?
Me: Yes, it's awesome
Tekking: Do you know what's happening in 'Attack on Titan' right now?
Me: No, not for a long time...
0:27 All hail Lord Tekking! God ruler of Asgard! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
damn almost 500k subs congrats tekking101 you came along way
Crackpot Theory: Elbaf was named after they deity, Elbaf, who was a real person that was believed to have died but we'll learn that their real name was Im.
I like how no matter how early tekking has 0 haters
Chaka and Pell, and how they'd scale in kaidos crew
like seriously he doesn't need any animation or background his presence is entertaining enough
For the longest I keep hearing it pronounce as El bath
dude just dropped like 5 theories in one video just like it was nothing 💀 this is why he’s my favorite youtuber
10:31 did tekking just fat shame giants........******triggered******
Shut up
Nice vid 👍 and can you do another video about the best volume covers again please, but you don’t have too straight away or anything
Yes the hammer is only is heavy Winn you Carrie it and I’m bad at spelling so yeah
2:00 Captain America and Iron man were trying to figure this sort of thing out in one of the movies 🤣 I think the conclusion is that inanimate objects are worthy; so Barry can wield Mjolnir.
Tekking Vs Nux Taku, Cringe Haki Vs Meme Jutsu
Get tekking to 500k !! He deserves it
what if Ussop gets/uses Mjölnir, it's a weapon you have to be deemed worthy to wield after all.
Is he the one on bb crew or jinbe old crew
Josh D he’s the one who joined the new sun pirates at the end of the Fishman island arc
That 500k coming up real soon
Tekking, it'd be cool if you could make a non-spoilery One Piece introduction/hype video for fantasy readers 😊 I think that many fantasy readers would enjoy One Piece but are quite daunted by its length (which is kinda silly considering that many of the same readers read and reread series like Wheel of Time, Malazan, etc)
theory: all yonko have known territory so shanks territory is ELBAF
I wonder if Elbaf will have a giant landscape? Like literal giant mountains, trees, grass, rocks, bugs and animals so that everything is to scale that be amazing!
I thought those shadows were created by skypeans from the clouds wich amplifies the shadow on the ground since they are so high up. They showed or in on of the last episodes of Skypea
No that was something different. The things in the Florian Triangle were clearly depicted to have eyes, they aren't just shadows.
Big up tekking, your videos are helping get through my uni work. loving the content
giants elbaph!!! amazing
I was watching Vicky the Viking recently and I noticed a fun detail , the last few seconds of the ending theme of Vicky is used as the begining of the title opening to Strong World, soundtrack no.34 I believe its called...
I’m early
Congrats on first
I've never seen your one piece videos cause I haven't seen the anime, but I'll give it a like anyway Tekking.
4:10
Maybe that helped One Piece stay relevant cause that message is now more important than it was in the 90's.
I would love to see Devil Fruit-user Giants, Giant Haki users and Giant Sword users :)
Franky is gonna have to build a ATV for the gang because imagine how MASSIVE Elbaf is for giants to feel normal
Nice video,
hope we get to see Elbaf soon, sad as it makes me, it's about time Usopp had a focus arc (he shares the Water 7 arc with Robin and Franky) and this'd be a perfect one for him to catch some character development.
Did you forget about Mother Carmel talking about giants working for the WG?
actually. the reason there were Giants in the navy was due to mother Carmel. it was pretty much stated in the manga. but i suspect that since Navy gets to battle many powerful pirates, the Giants may also just see that as a good chance to fight strong foes.
Man i love your enthusiasm
So close to 500k subs LETS GOO TEKKING
2018 is long time fans? thanks tekking your energy level makes me feel better about mine. Mjolnir is always heavy. If you prove worthy it gives you the strength to lift it.
shout out to that one Grammarly ad i get at the beginning of every tekking video
John Giant was the first giant Marine and he was sold to them by Mother Caramel if I'm not mistaken
Thank you for the mental image of dory lighting a tree sized joint with a volcano. My day has been made
For the hammer : it will stay in place when it's put on a surface.
Fun fact: In the Spanish dub Dorry and Broggy said their god's name was Enel
