Then I get into the steps that you guys will need to follow to learn the sound. Finally, I talk about some very simple variations of throat bass that you guys can learn to change it up a little bit!

Bois. I recently got a decent sound from my throat bass, which I've been trying for 6+ years. And I have two tips. When you are clearing your throat, do a high throat clear, it really helps. Also, when you get a good sound, DO NOT get excited like me and start to do prolonged notes, it ruins your throat for the rest of the day. Do it in short breathes. So happy I got it, and hope you will too😁. ESH!!!

Finally I have done it.

I definitely did not take any of those precautions when I first learned this sound and it's so funny to look back now and see how my beatbox has evolved over time (I'm still very much an amateur so these learning steps might be even more memorable). I never actually saw this video before because I already knew how to do this sound before I started learning to beatbox, and I think Dharni's video got recommended to me and made me practise with it. Now I'm here to learn about variations, it's so nostalgic to look back to my beginnings, not even knowing you could have variations with throat bass.
I have you and a few other people who do in-depth tutorials to really thank for this. Without you guys I would probably not know how to do many of the sounds I can do now, and once I can get into a sort of intermediate level which will probably take a long long time still I know I will probably still be watching many of you guys to brush up on tips and to learn new sounds.

2 steps to learn throat bass:
1. Do the sound you make when you clear your throat.
2. Extend that sound.

Sep yup. It's simpler and easier. That's how I learned it
yep, simple and easy, i learned that way too, for anyone else reading:
when you clear your throat you go ''ah hummm'', hold the ''hummm'' part and practice that sound for longer and longer until it stops hurting after maybe a week. At first you will probably struggle to hold it for more than a second or two because it burns, but you just have to condition your throat, it will get used to it after a week. You should feel the fast vibration of the vocal cords. Make sure you ALWAYS SIP WATER when doing throat bass, you will damage your vocal cords if you don't, drink water especially when you first start practising. It helps to warm up your voice before hand like singers do as throat bass is all vocal cords

A good sound I discovered was "lately bass" from hadaway- what is love. For anyone that likes to throw some retro dance music into their sets, this sound is used in loads of songs as well as old school hip hop.
