Glad you enjoyed the video. This is just a one time thing as I’m mostly focused on streaming. We shot a contra video several months ago as well. I’m sure we’ll shoot something again just not on any type of schedule.
As much as viewers might dislike this, it's the right call. I don't care if it's your wife or your best friend. It gets old being around the same person all the time and gets to be too much like a business. You can tell they genuinely had fun because it was like a nostalgic get together on their own time. It's great to have the freedom to do your own thing.
Forgot how much I miss these friends chemistry. So much better than being talked over nonstop on the podcast, hearing incoherent ramblings and pointless stories from everyone but James.
Let's hope this isn't a one off and we get the return of James & Mike Mondays. For me it's not so much about watching you two play different games, it's the great conversations you would have in the episodes. It's like listening in on two old friends remembering things from the past.
Yeah, as much as I love the laser precision that Mike has on his own plays, I LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing him with someone else playing a 2 player game. Even better when that other person is James. I wonder if he'd bring on Justin for a couple games....
THIS is the type of wholesome, awesome content that has been missing from the cinnemassacre channel. The channel needs you, Mike! I think the fan base always had love for you, but when you left, it became extremely evident how much of an impact you have on the content. Your absence really put things into perspective, for me at least, and I’m sure many others can echo this sentiment. I hope you and James keep in touch more often and we see a comeback from the greatest duo on earth 😆 do what makes you happy though Mike. That’s what matters most.
When Mike was on the channel much of the fan base gave him a hard time and said he was a leech. Even though he wrote a bunch of the early avgn scripts. Can you blame him for not wanting to be there?

None of us truly know the behind the scenes stuff either, like the financial side, or the differences they may have had when it comes to the direction they may have wanted the content to go in. There are probably personal reasons why Mike took a hiatus from things, and that’s why I was sure to add my last statements about putting his happiness first. I hope he goes back because as you said, he is the mastermind behind a huge portion of all the classic AVGN videos. Those who criticized Mike are probably the same ones now leaving comments about how James lost touch, and how much they hate Justin lol .. I laugh, but people take it too far with their comments..I’ve seen people say some REALLY fu€ked up sh!t about Justin. They’re entitled to their own opinions obviously, but they seem to forget that he’s human. That’s the internet for you I guess. But yeah, these people who left hate comments about Mike are most definitely the people who are always saying “I want the old AVGN”, and “this new AVGN has no passion behind it”.. and while I totally encourage Mikes return and i do think he adds a whole lot to the channel, I’d only want him to go back IF he truly wanted to… and I think it’s messed up how so many people ridicule the newer AVGN videos, because even if they aren’t quite as powerful and good as the older ones, James and the crew are still providing free content to the viewers and don’t deserve the hate, as if they owe anyone anything. James especially doesn’t deserve hate. The guy has been one of the few long term CZcamsrs who hasn’t proven to secretly be a piece of sh!t in real life and hasn’t been exposed for any drama like so many other creators. My bad, I know my comment is ridiculously long, but last thing.. when I first started watching AVGN, I’ll be honest, at first I used to find Mike to be annoying 😆 I never left any hateful comments.. but I just didn’t necessarily care for him lol but I very quickly began to like him. I know you guys getting back together "regularly" is a pipe dream, and asking for it is silly. But man, seeing you guys back on the couch just playing a game like this is amazing. It doesn't feel produced or forced in the slightest. It's got the 2 close childhood friends, just sitting around playing a game, vibe to it. Or like late night college dorm room gaming session... It's one of the most real things on CZcams, especially in the video game genre. Where others try to force nostalgia, these two just shooting the shit playing a game, is pure nostalgia. +10 for not having to see, or hear that Silverman dude at any point in this. Probably why it's on Mike's channel and not Cinemassacre, as He'd have insisted on being involved... Probably sitting between the two, talking about stuff nobody wants to hear, and just in general interrupting good conversations. I love watching James and Mike just chilling and playing games. You both should do it more often. You guys made my day. This video made me play Toe Jam and Earl for the first time and other genesis games, thanks to the sega collection. I have been watching you both since early youtube.
This is nice and props to Mike for not namedropping James in the title for clicks. It is still a shame to me the J&M Mondays ended. They didn't have to do it every week, once every couple of months would have been great but you could see how utterly bored, checked out and arrogant James had become by the end - resented doing even the slightest amount of work if it meant taking him away from his lounging around at home doing nothing. Mike never stopped putting in the effort and still does so to this day.
I have a memory of watching some teens at a Fatal Fury cabinet when I was a small kid. The one playing had a mullet, and would repeatedly shout "fuckin A!". I wondered what it meant then, and I still don't know now. lol

I love watching James and Mike just chilling and playing games. You both should do it more often. You guys made my day. This video made me play Toe Jam and Earl for the first time and other genesis games, thanks to the sega collection. I have been watching you both since early youtube.
This is nice and props to Mike for not namedropping James in the title for clicks. It is still a shame to me the J&M Mondays ended. They didn't have to do it every week, once every couple of months would have been great but you could see how utterly bored, checked out and arrogant James had become by the end - resented doing even the slightest amount of work if it meant taking him away from his lounging around at home doing nothing. Mike never stopped putting in the effort and still does so to this day.

I have a memory of watching some teens at a Fatal Fury cabinet when I was a small kid. The one playing had a mullet, and would repeatedly shout "fuckin A!". I wondered what it meant then, and I still don't know now. lol
