Nice to see that small events like this exist. Sweet that you can go around and talk to the owners to hear them tell the stories behind their cars. If you go to a big volvo event, ex vallakra in sweden, you have 20000 people and 1500-2000 cars and thats a little too much ground to cover.. Keep it up guys!
As many Swedes in my generation, I learned how to drive in a 245 wagon. Will always hold a special place in my heart.

I think Volvo was the first "luxury" european car that came to North America long before bmw audi. But they died out and remerged again since the new Volvo platform.
@@jonpetter8921 i agree to i fully. Evert Swede know about THE Volvo history, atleast some of it.but take My c30 for example. Inte from 2008 and THE interor is quite Good bit the tec is like from 2000, it looks so old.. bit the new s90 is to die for, both performance and tec, dont u agree?

Saab and Volvo's, are my all-time favorites. I was a automotive technician at a shop that specialized in swedish cars for almost 10 years. I now work in IT. I will always have a lust for swedish vehicles.:)

Go to Sweden and you see these cars everyday, my neighbours all got classic volvos on their lawns which they drive to work and the kids got their own volvos which they're modifying daily.
I think we need a Midwest Volvo show. Carlisle is like a 10 hour drive and IPD is like a 24 hour drive. It was cool seeing Jesse on the channel down from Alaska!

Was there in 2016 but sadly not for the garage sale. Just on a trip and happened to break my wheel in northern Cali so went through Oregon on a spare to get there lol. They took care of me and got me a wheel hahaha. Would love to go to the Garage Sale just that i'm about 4,300km away.

In my teens and when taking driving license my family had a 240. Sounds very old but it was a 1993, had AC, ABS and cruise control (or what it's called - "maintain this speed" but no + or -). So kind of crazy that the old 240 could get that in the end.

Got my first new(ish) car at 18 yrs in 1969. A 1967 122S, wish I had it too this day!! I'm now 68 and looking for a pre 90s Volvo.

I owned two S60R manuals and loved them. Tracked each one a few times a year. Exhaust note was amazing.
A friend gave me his xc70 2.5T AWD 2007 (166,000km) this summer. He was upgrading to an Audi and the dealer was not giving a decent amount for the car. In live in Quebec ie Canada and the currency exchange rate vs the USD and the Euro is weak. It means they are expensive to have serviced at the dealer. In this case it had been and at around 150,000 km : new timing belt, battery, all the brakes, etc. What a gift ! I changed a wheel baring, bough a new side mirror and new rims for the winter tires (mandatory). Love it. I hope it will last me 5 more years. IE to when I retire. We have 10 in of wet snow this Tuesday and have no problem going up the steep road at the country cottage without getting the snow blower out. I wonder how it will do in pounder snow? :)

i worked at a volvo wrecking yard in LA for 45 years before moving to the desert it would make you crazy thinking of all the volvos that i have scraped over that 45 years. rare volvos that i regret today scraping them. the one i regret the most was a 43 volvo at the time it was the oldest volvo in the USA. but did not find that out till some years later. volvos in my opinion are the safest car out there. still have spuds my 68 volvo 122 amazon

allot of great cars, but i must admit for a volvo meet it's really weird not seeing any 240/740/940's with T5 engines in them, like you can't go to a volvo meet here in norway without there being at least 3 of them :)
Over here we like to keep our 740/240/940's original - just as the Volvo engineer's intended. Hard to improve on what they did!
@@bobjohnson205 well hard to argue that. i also like my red cast lump as well, therefore i will get a 3.1L stroker redblock with a ported 16V head built from sweden. because a turbo or I5 build is to common i feel.

Oregon born and raised and I never get over how awkward everyone in Oregon is lol. Had a 04 s60 once. I broke it. Wanted a v60 polestar a lot but there so rare so I got a stinger instead. dont regret it.
Wish i could make it to one but im all the way in Michigan...but awesome show!...and I love IPD...glad we have such a strong community of enthusiasts to make events like this possible!

@@captainlovemaker7095 Thats not the point. Its a rare fucking car. I own a black 850R that is highly modified. It will be fully restored in about 6 months. 20t turbo green injectors, snabb intake package and snabb down pipe, R manifold 3 inch ipd exhaust, and do88 inter cooler and radiator .Full suspension overhaul with lowering springs and koni FSD gold. Going to be putting in a new ac compressor soon if i cant get a new clutch plate and a lifter job.
You guys need to road trip this next year. Make a video of your adventure to the garage sale, at the garage sale and your adventure on your way home from the garage sale.
