An amazing Nazrul Geeti Collection is a compilation of some rare Nazrul Songs. This compilation album contains a superhit collection of primarily Bengali Nazrul Songs sung by the legendary singers like Feroza Begum, Manabendra Mukherjee, Suprava Sarkar, Purabi Dutta, Dhirendra Chandra Mitra and Sachin Dev Burman. It is a Tribute to Nazrul and it is done by the legendary artistes.
Nazrul Geeti is a genre of Bengali Songs that originates from the works of the great rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. Nazrul Geeti that literally translates to be songs of Nazrul is an integral part of Bengali culture. The legendary Firoza Begum and Nazrul Geeti have almost become two synonymous words. Born in 1930, Feroza Begum was educated in Calcutta in undivided India and was closely linked with rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, who is now Bangladesh’s national poet.
Next comes the Legendary Manabendra Mukherjee, who is a noted Bengali singer and composer, apart from being a famous Modern Bengali Song composer and a great playback singer was also known as a great Nazrul Geeti artist. Although Manabendra Mukherjee recorded very few Nazrul Geeti albums, any such recordings are hugely popular.
The two other most noted and cherished singers featured in this album are the legendary yet most popular Nazrul geeti artistes of all times, the legendary Purabi Dutta and Suprava Sarkar. Purabi Dutta is well acclaimed and praised as a Nazrul Geeti singer. Her renditions of this album are flawless and beautiful. Another most celebrated Nazrul Geeti and playback singer of all times, Srimati Suprava Sarkar. She hardly needs any introduction. She was born with a musical talent.
“Bhuli Kemoney - A Tribute to Nazrul” is an exclusive rendition of the legends. This compilation has some of the all time greatest hits of Nazrul Songs such as “Halud Gandar Phul”, “Puhler Jalshay Nirab Keno” and “Chaitaali Chaandini Raatey”.
