Well he’s not the bravest and toughest dude in boxing lol. There are many boxers that are way tougher and braver than him. Paulie is a skilled boxer. Good tactical boxer and has a very good quick jab. If he had power he would have been a powerful force.
@@dbodooley First off, you know my post was 10 yrs ago right? That said, just how exactly do you not find Paulie tough or brave? Bro, when none of your opponents respect your power and come at you the whole fight, you have to have balls. And Paulies toughness was never questions. He fought a whole fight against prime Cotto with a broken jaw and was highly competitive. A good majority of his fights were fought one handed because of broken hands. At 40 yrs old he took a bare knuckle fight against a UFC brawler. During that fight he broke both his hands in the 2nd round. Anyone in their right mind would have shut it down, yet Paulie came out round after round throwing as many jabs as he could. Take in mind he is a millionaire with 2 world titles, he didnt need to stick it out. But he did because he has bravery, heart, toughness. You can tell the dude loves to fight by looking at his sparring head gear. Complete open face, not these closed off jobs that keep your features from being touched. Trust me bro, Paulie had a lot more than just a fast jab and footwork.

Paulie is so right. I’ve been an avid fan for years and years and I see so many damn robberies and scorecards that just don’t make a lick of sense and you know there something illegal going on.
When Gale Van Oy was asked about his scoring, he stated, "Ring generalship is weighed in equal measure with aggression and punches. Paulie was not effectively aggressive and his constant movement compromised his ring generalship. Even if Diaz didn't land any hits in the entire fight and Malignaggi landed all of his, Diaz would have still won off of ring generalship. I don't award rounds to counter-punchers".
If that's his philosophy, he probably shouldn't be a judge.

I second that. I thought Diaz would win before and I've never been a fan of Malignaggi, but Paulie deserved this win and definitely didn't deserve to be disrespected with such outrageous scores. I'll be pulling for him from now in because he really impressed me in this fight.

What sucks even more for Malignaggi is that unlike in MMA, he's not going to have an easy time finding big fights because he was robbed.

Just watched the replay of Diaz vs Malignaggi, hands down Paulie won this fight. I actually scored it 116-112 for Paulie. I know some will say I'm crazy, but in my eyes, he also won round 12, I think he outboxed him. Now there were some close rounds like 4, 5, 8 & 9 that could go either way. I don't have a problem w/ 115-113 to either guy or draw but 118-110 & 116-112 for Diaz thats INSANE! Paulie got my respect 4 caling out the people to blame publicly!!!... Hope he gets at least a rematch!
I'm not from Texas, nor do I live there. The judges don't make up the power punch stats. If Paulie wants a win ANYWHERE., he needs to throw MORE power punches, or start knocking opponents out.

The numbers show that Diaz threw and landed more power punches. Malignaggi threw alot more punches, but power punches win the fight when there is no knockdown
MMA isn't main stream MMA is still behind boxing in Most viewed American Sports. MMA needs boxing. If boxing dies MMA will go too. If MMA dies boxing will keep on.

paulie landed 19% of his punches.. which was not much more total punches than diaz.. diaz wasnt hitting paulie? wtf? he was chasing paulie around nailing him with hooks.. paulie got his head rocked all fight.
the punch stats tell the tale of the power game.
and a 19% connect rate is horrible.. that is not effective punching at all.
Which fight did Hopkins, Whitikar, Spinks or Camacho throw 934 punches and land 170 ???...and win ??? Diaz dictated the pace, while Malignaggi was backing up. If you are a boxer and you think the fight will be fixed as Paulie did, then COME HARD !! The final punch stats told the story.
you are right that paulie is looking in control dancing moving and throwing scoring blows, but it doesnt hold for most of the fight, he needs to score with power so that it convinces not just the judges but holds off diaz as punishment for coming in, sure dancing away is nice but get some respect w your punches too, not just how pretty you can move and barely score, cuz paulie misses way too many of those weak shots too, the fight was close but diaz did land good hard shots in 6 of first 8
Those judges should be banned from the sport by the athletic commission
He fought his heart out..anybody would complain if the fight had a score like that, especially if neither fighter won the fight 118-110 and you're expecting him to get over it?? Whether you're from Tex-Assholes or anywhere else in the world, i'd be pissed. He's not even complaining that he lost..he's complaining about the score of the fight..nobody dominated the fight..Diaz was the brawler, Paulie was the boxer, using his jabs to keep him away. if he lost, fine, but make the score respectable.

This wasn't the biggest rob of the century but I gotta thank Paulie, as a fan, for expressing the truth about boxing. Nothing will be heard more loudly than the fighters speaking out themselves and the writers for agreeing. Paulie was sadly robbed and even Diaz knew it himself. Oh the politics of boxing...
from what im seeing in the full replay diaz is chasing paulie is like willie pep dodging alot of shots and the shots that land on his gloves the crowd seem to cheer?
paulie landed the jabs and straights wether they had power or not they were the cleaner punches.

I had it 114-114 or MAYBE Juan by a point but he was right about those judges. Was it really hard to bring in a judge from California, Vegas and Florida? If a fighter brings something like this up a change should be made.

as a boxer sometimes u fight elsewhere, there are hometown decisions you have to accept, and paulie definitely got robbed by 2 judges, but he did not clearly win this fight, you have to get respect by landing stiff jabs and real punches with power in them, it was clear diaz landed the only really meaningful punches in this fight, and paulie ran and thought he was jones jr. but watch roy last week, he was throwing mean body shots, not once did paulie actually deliver a meaningful hard shot!

Hell, after the fight Kellerman tried to say why politics decided the winner of this fight, like it's just something that happens.
I would hope that this gets judges looked at more closely in the future, but it won't. This judge will get to go on, and if he feels like it, he can rob again.
TBH, there are works and whack scoring in MMA as well. There is corruption in all sports to some level or another.
The only difference is corruption is slowly tearing boxing apart.

paulie was punching air... check the stats.. not much difference in punches landed, and diaz landed much more power shots.. he landed the more effective shots in the majority of the rounds.

He is right, this is why Boxing sucks and MMA is going to surpass it. Besides being dirty, which is a well defined reality to anyone not willingly blind, Boxing is sliding into degeneracy where no one even can say for certain what judges are basing their decisions on. It is obviously not on historic scoring rules of boxing in most cases. Anyone who pays money to see Boxing seriously needs their head examined. It is not delivering what is advertised and is anything but the sweet science now.
