Lyrics
I know when to go out
And when to stay in
Get things done
I catch a paper boy
But things don't really change
I'm standing in the wind
But I never wave bye-bye
But I try
I try
There's no sign of life
It's just the power to charm
I'm lying in the rain
But I never wave bye-bye
But I try
I try
Never going to fall for
(Modern Love)
Walks beside me
(Modern Love)
Walks on by
(Modern Love)
Gets me to the Church on Time
(Church on Time)
Terrifies me
(Church on Time)
Makes me party
(Church on Time)
Puts my trust in God and Man
(God and Man)
No confessions!
(God and Man)
No religion
(God and Man)
Don't believe
In Modern Love
It's not really work
It's just the power to charm
I'm still standing in the wind
But I never wave bye bye
But I try

Never going to fall for

About David Bowie:
David Bowie redefined musical genres and the potential of live performance for generations of music lovers. Creating and discarding a variety of personae and restlessly challenging musical boundaries, Bowie released timeless albums including Space Oddity, Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust…, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, Station to Station, "Heroes,” Let's Dance, Heathen, The Next Day and many more. Blackstar, Bowie’s 28th and final studio album, was released on his 69th birthday, January 8, 2016. David Bowie died on January 10, 2016, two days after the release of Blackstar. His body of work, his influence on the worlds of music, art, fashion, film, theatre and beyond, and his legacy of innovation and reinvention will live forever. 2022 kicks off with Bowie at 75, a celebration of his 75th birthday with the Brilliant Adventure box set, the previously unreleased Toy, the 50th anniversary of Ziggy Stardust and a series of special events.

Don't be sad because he's gone, be happy because he was here
I miss him
oh my god you're so right x
Love David music
I miss him. I'm a big fan off David Bowie!! R.I.P Mr Bowie!!
perfectly well thought and true !
I deeply, deeply, deeply, deeply envy anyone who saw this amazing man in concert. Mankind will never ever know a genius like him. Rest In Peace Mr. Bowie.
I saw him twice in concert. And, believe me, there was nothing like it. I saw Tina Turner three times - nothing like her either. Oh, how sad the day he left us. Only Light Light Light now.
LOVE
I thought of you when I saw him and enjoyed his show for people who didn't have the chance to see him. We are all equally blessed to have heard his music Russell!
First concert ever, I was 6 in Germany. It was in the 80's, and I had no concept of music. When he sung, it was like watching Superman fly. I remember instantly thinking who is that and how is this happening. Immediately my worldview (musically) changed. Not drastically (I was 6) but was definitely a catalyst, and my love/appreciation has grown as I've gotten older.
Russell - I saw Davie Bowie in person live in Vancouver on August 8, 1983 for $20 at BC Place Stadium when Modern Love just came out on his LP Let's Dance which was his biggest selling LP in his life. I started out by buying his Ziggy Stardust LP when it first came out in 1972, it was out of this world great.

Fell in love with David in 5th grade... I'm 52 now. Got to see him live in concert when I was 16 during the Glass Spider Tour. He had already changed me life, but seeing him live I was changed even moreso. He was like electricity. Like the most beautiful flower in a garden that starts singing and dancing and you can't believe your eyes. He meant everything to me. RIP my dearest love. ❤
I'm 56 and kind of regret never attending one of his concerts. Maybe I'll get to meet him when I kick the bucket!

This is David Bowie’s greatest song imo
agreed. This and Sweet Thing/Candidate/Sweet Thing.
I remember this era well. There was a lot of talk about Bowie putting out a pure pop album with this one at the time. Why? He was known for being avante gard, the edge of the point of a spear for new music. But this was commercial pop. It was a rumor i dont know if its true. One of his friends asked him why dont you make a strictly commercial album, make a boatload of money shamelessly just for the money, & then you will have all the money you need to make strange music. And he did, & look at all the pop hits off of this one album.
Rest in peace, man of space
Yeah it is sad that he died :(
He died from Liver Cancer, the second most silent cancer death, fought it for 18 months, what a great warrior and soldier
He's out there, in another Galaxy, another dimension. His tunes echoing through the Universe for eternity. Starman.
He took a trip to Mars with the help of Major Tom to visit ziggy stardust
I was lucky enough to see him live in Manchester 20 years ago.ive been a fan since 14 I'm 60 now.sing his songs on karaoke
A man so ahead of his time and extremely talented, his music is still modern to this day 💕
and he was a painter too, actually, it's one of my fav painters of all times, how could he be such prodigy in so many areas? what a talent

I had the pleasure of seeing David Bowie in concert in 1983 during the Serious Moonlight tour and he was on fire! What a great song and great show! Only a man as charismatic and gorgeous as David Bowie could look so good in a canary yellow suit! Christopher Adams well I did root for jareth
He was supposed to play Max Zorin in A View to a Kill
"Into The Night" starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Jeff Goldblum, Bowie played a British "wise guy"/hit man with a wry sense of humor, his character made me laugh at times. Wasn't David a bit of a bad guy in 'Labyrinth,' Jareth, the Goblin King?
Of course I would root for the villain

His song writing, creative vision he not the type can copy, band today lost what he had, "ashes to ashes" the video has creative aspect not seen today, who is able to bring such lyrics he brought out. Greatest concert I have ever seen
His music lives. This song is masterpiece. The song was played on the radio over the weekend during the 80s segment.
David Bowie's doing a 80's pop song and he made one of the greatest of that decade.
Right? He made a whole album adapt to he 80s synth pop and it slaps
Let's face it, this wasn't Bowie's artistic high point. It did sell a ton, though, and after a decade and a half of making edgy, art house material, he needed to get paid.
David Bowie was awesome. He made amazing music, he refused to conform to stereotypes of gender, he spoke out about how black musicians are treated unfairly and he was all around a really nice guy. I wish I could have met him. I don't usually cry over the deaths of celebrities, but he was the exception
Bless you ..Loved Bowie since i was 5 years old my father always listen to his music and i thank him.
I did too dont feel bad. When he died he was so much a part of my teenage years fun and good times I felt like part of me had died

I’m now 60 and I can map my entire life through Bowies music I miss you so much, my hero,my inspiration and at times my saviour ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏
I remember when this song was playing on the radio charts in the height of 1985. I was a 13 year old teenager. It was a trip. Old times that marked my life.
Eternal David Bowie!
1983 dude
@@user-cs6up8eq7sThe same year that I was born…man, ‘83 was a HELL of a year and I mean that in a good way! 😅
That year saw Doctor Who turn 20 as well…🥰
I was 14, good days
@@user-cs6up8eq7sin that case I was 12 lol, still good days

@@CZR1951 I play this often in the morning to start my day and get me motivated, just the drums, the way the vocals are arranged Love It 💯
This song brings the joy and pain of life, the joy of having made it through the '70s the 80's an era of promise. The pain of knowing all those who are no longer with me, grandparents, cousins, siblings, friends. Mr. Bowie was part of the soundtrack of my life and for that I am grateful. THANK YOU DAVID !!!
Such a catchy song. Listen once...you sing it all day
I don’t know what’s better the lyrics or the instrumental David Bowie is the king 👑
There's not a day that passes without me listening to one of your songs. RIP starman ★
Raphaël 44 thank you for that
Ga. Mariana.
David Bowie a true artist in the music he wrote and sang. He was probably the greatest performer of all time. I love this song 🎶
The man is a legend. RSVP Bowie.
Puts a smile on my face when this song comes on the radio as I'm delivering the morning news papers...I am the paperboy 🗞
Usually when a celebrity passes I feel sorry then I move on.
When he died it was like a piece of me went with him and I still really miss him!
He'd still be rockin' it....and I miss him too
I miss him
❤️
Lauren Lynley Right? I actually have to remind myself that he is still gone 🙁
Same same same. It was like my childhood died
Something about 80s music that makes you want to get up and dance...even when your driving (stuck in traffic). 😁
Anyone else feel the same?
Always. One of the best eras of music. And defo the best to drive to...
Same here!! 💖
Always and especially Bowie, makes me wanna jump out the car and start dancing down the road, but that's not safe, don't do that.
David Bowie released this legendary song 4 decades ago. Modern Love will always stay modern!
Good times, great memories! 80s were the best. Greetings from Saint Marys, Georgia. ❤80s❤
The Ziggy years were iconic but this is my favorite all time Bowie tune. The beat, the piano, and the horns are so infectious!!
This song and Let`s Dance are amazing
I agree. Those horns and the joy of the audience too!!🥰🥰😍🤩
