Then you’ll be good don’t come back too fast I just returned to my team training today and I injured it 2 weeks ago.Dont extend your time just rest

    I see a lot of comments saying they played or worked through it with pain. I'm no expert but you really shouldn't do that! It's pretty much a cut that you need to give time to heal. 2 weeks minimum.

    Thanks, one of the things i have learnt from this video is that you need to recover the muscle in extended position, not let it lie fallow and then resume sprinting because the muscle will heal in shortened position.

  • @raymondotoole2600
    @raymondotoole2600 Před 3 lety +4

    I’ve just inured my quad ( slight tear). First thing is to accept you’re not going to be playing sport for a short time. What I do is rest, elevate, ice to reduce inflammation for 10mins and hot water bottle for 10 mins. After that I spread the blood flow with a small ball or a massage pole from Amazon! just keep repeating that process and also have one cold bath and hot bath a day! In addition breathing exercises (Wim hof) will help to increase oxygen to the body so your muscle will recover a lot quicker! these are things you know you should be doing so don’t procrastinate. Start now and begin the journey of recovery in more of a relaxed state. Also train your mind for when you return.

    Thank you so much with this information. I strained my quad on last New Year day after on the exercise bike for an hour. I didn't feel the pain until after 30 minutes getting off the bike. I went to see my doctor and he only gave me ibuprofen pain pill and muscle relax. I had a bump in the middle of my quad and the front area was swollen. I couldn't walk unless I had taken the pain pill. I don't know how to treat this injure at home. Now after seeing this video, I started doing the same to flex my leg. It's painful and I have to do it very gradually to bend it. Hope I will do better. Not sure on the average how long it will take to recover. I am about entering my 60 and I should be more carefully with my exercise next time. If you have additional advise or information, I would be very appreciated. Thanks. Victor Nguyen

I was wrestling and bumped my knee pretty hard on the ground and the next day the quad on the same leg was hurting a lot and I can't really bend the leg or go down the stairs but there's no bruising or swelling a part from on the knee. Is it possible it's just a tense muscle as it is my lead leg or is definitely torn?

    Hi I sprained my quad around 3-4 weeks ago I was still doing small slow inclined walks on it and stretches and physio and swimming to try get it to recovery faster I then tried to run on it for 10 minutes last week and I feel I am back to week 2 on it but now almost a week later I am back to walking and hopping on it with no pain I just do not want to make it worse again or prolong any more recovery so I have stopped doing anything on it now is this worse for me or should I be trying stretches again I just don't want to make it
    worse I can move it without pain and walk and hop on it with no pain but once I start trying to do physio on it, it swells up a bit and starts hurting and it's the same if I walk on it for a medium period length does this mean it's not ready yet? Should I wait for the swelling to go down fully before trying physio? Or should I just leave it be I just don't know how far along I am away from being able to get back to inclines walks and running

    Well the pain i had was in the middle of my quad where the tenderness was the size of a dime. I actually felt the pain all the way to my knee. What you have to do is ice but if it doesn't help its most likely the strain is deep in your muscle. There is this thing called THE STICK but you can use a roller for doe. Now you have to buy heat cool lotion. You have to role the muscle with The STICK and the lotion.This will be extremely painful. But keep doing it and the pain will gradually decrease.
